I wonder if you could combine some pieces from all three, so that sometimes you can makes 180 degree jumbling turns, sometimes 90 degree turns, and sometimes 60 degree turns. That would be awesome.
How about 1 degree turns?
My guess would be that in the future they might come out with skewbs that would have combination like what you're saying but on a more bigger scale

I bought the maple leaf skewb when it first came out so I was prepared for these. The first 2 I solved with no problems. The third puzzle took me a long time to figure out the last two half circle pieces.

It’s like a 4x4 5x5 and 6x6 of a skewb
If the skewb mixup number's more than 1, that skewb mixup will shape-shift.
rotating a skewb "center" by 90 degrees is not possible, because technically they are edges of a tetrahedron
(or corners of an octahedron)
On a normal Skewb you would be correct with the statement that you are proposing. If you have the time take a look at the Skewb Extreme (SE), in a case of the SE, center turning is important in terms of having a complete solve

You are completely correct about the fact, that the "center" can be rotated.
My point was, that you can only rotate that piece by 180 degrees, but never by 90.

You should try the puppet cubes
the only problem i have with this puzzle is that the new mechanics dont interact with the original mechanics at all, so it's more like 2 puzzles in one. i would prefer a puzzle that adds to the original mechanics and allows for unorthodox scramble states
Well if you think about it big cubes are also like this because most cubers solve them by doing a step irrelevant to 3x3 first and then solving like 3x3 (except parity I guess)
