The GAN Monster Go as I have it along with the GAN I carry, is just a copy of GAN I carry, but with lesser customisation and a sub brand of GAN...all else of it is just dope!
Nah i have it too and it has way to much lockups and Just feels Like a lose rubiks Cube the gan i carry is wayyyyy better
@@rizebandog2554 nope...I wouldn't believe in spending even a penny more for GAN I carry. Many in the comments believe so as well. Although it depends on your turning and preference.
Check out the SpeedCubeReview's video about the GAN Monster Go AI. You would get a better look at it ...
Have fun with your smart cube..
i went with the i3 i was thinking of going with the monster go but I heard some things about the battery on the monster go and I also wanted the customization of the i3 I still think the monster go is just as good of a smart cube
@@wxbrainiac i have the gan i carry and the Monster Go and the only Thing that makes the carry better in my oppinion is the costomazaition
@@rizebandog2554 yeah the original i carry is really similar to t he monster go but the turning of the i3 is way nicer than both of them don't know If its worth double the price but it is an option
3:45 I received my Gan 356 i3 today and I bought it with the charging pod. I think you might like the Gan charging pod more than the desk charger, since it feels solid, fits the cube well, offers on-the-go charging AND features a built-in phone stand as a bonus. Though the phone stand feature feels a bit flimsy.
The rubik's connected actually has a light on the white center when it's charging, so it actually shows when charging.
Ah, that's really subtle! Glad you pointed it out though.
Thanks
@@Z3Cubing Own a connected at home and noticed you said "it doesnt show when charging"
This was just the video i needed! Thanks!
Thank you ! What a great review and comparison. I actually enjoy watching the entire video
This is an awesome breakdown. Thanks so much for making this video.
Nice video. I bought a GAN iCarry after watching your review video about it. And I'm glad that I bought it. It's great for learning speedcubing.
I really like the gyroscope in I3. I think you should give extra point for that, so that both GAN cubes are at equal points 😊
I wouldn't miss the gyroscope too much (if at all), unless it got a lot better on the i3 or the 12 ui. I got the i2 before the carry was released, I was in doubt between the i2 and the i2 play (without the gyroscope) and I was quite underwhelmed by the gyroscope. It drifts and requires you to fix the orientation manually after a few solves and it's also quite laggy and doesn't deal well with wide moves or M, S and E moves. I can pretty much count on having to fix reconstructions most of the time if I've done any slice or wide moves.
My i2 also got a bit worse over time with battery aging, I can't really trust the charge indicator as it sometimes either reports under or over the actual charge and bluetooth connection also become unreliable when the battery is acting up. I still like it as it's way more broken in and smooth, but I decided to get an i carry just to have something more reliable with me. If I take out the i2 with me it's a hit or miss if I will be able to use it on the go, without the dock and charger, but the i carry just works every time.
Another minor difference between the i2 and i carry, besides gyroscope and battery, is that the sensor it uses is different, id doesn't detect the face position with the same granularity as the i2, it's always either in one position or another, no in-between. But this is more of a "show off" feature than something actually useful, nice to demo to a friend who never seen a smart cube, but not something that will impact performance during practice. Honestly, if the i carry was available when I bought the i2 and I knew it's shortcomings, I wouldn't have bothered with the i2 at all.
@@gcolombelli nice essay
A little update: the gyroscope on the 12ui is indeed a lot better than the one on the i2, less lag, more precision, better sampling rate. However, it still suffers from drift and you still have to fix the orientation on-screen regularly or the app will not correctly register rotations. Also, the price is insane, maybe the i3 can be a cheaper alternative, but I still think the gyroscope isn't such a huge deal that warrants spending more money just for it.
Honestly, gyroscope does not matter that much
Thank you for the solving tutorials and great videos!
this has helped me alot in picking what speed smart cube i want
tbh tho im gonna get the gan icarry because im looking for a good bluetooth cube but im not wiling to spend that much money so thanks alot for this video

Thx
Thanks. A very useful video. It really helped to choose.👍
Amazing content thats a lot of usefull information thank you soo much. Now i know whic whone to get:)
I’m not a big cuber or someone who uses smart cubes but I feel like different categories should have been weighted differently than others.
I think a key point you forgot to mention is how long each full charge lasts. If I have to remember to charge my cube, I'd like it to work for longer than an hour :')
Also no mention of gyroscope on those that had it, which can be a deciding factor for some.
And lastly, even though the app is important esp if you pay a lot, the fact that Cubeast exists makes it less important imo
That said, great video, good to see everything side by side!
Great points!
Unfortunately I don't think there's a way for me to realistically compare battery life, since my smart cubes range from brand new to 3 years old. Since I don't believe the marketing either, I decided just not to mention it.
As for gyroscopes, I believe the GoCube, Gan 356i/i2/i3, and WeiLong AI are the only ones that have one. It's definitely a cool feature for games/tutorials, but I've found that it's essentially irrelevant when it comes to speedcubing.
I also originally had a section about Cubeast in this video when I couldn't get MoYu's app to work! I eventually figured it out and removed it to save time. I think it's a very cool service, but I'd much rather just have a great first-party app that doesn't involve a monthly subscription to do X number of solves per day.
Well, the gan i carry according to the manufacture it lasts 280 HOURS!
ive used my i3 for about 15 hours without having to charge it once and even then it charges fast battery life really doesn't matter though to most
I haven't watched in so long I love this channel
i love the GAN i3 that i just got but i have never been able to get the app to work and i have tried a lot of different things to get it to work, it just always says it needs me to reconnect and no matter what i do it wont reconnect
if anyone has any tips to get it to work i would love to know them
Great info, but the rubik's connected does have a little blue charging light on the cube!
Some of the cubes seem to have a gyro so the app know their orientation. Wish you had clarified which have that and which dont. Gan app should have ranked higher. The advanced algorithms seem a great feature. Which apps teach CFOP?
I wish there will be more smart cubes so you can rate it I like your smart cube videos and keep your videos up
nice vid! and also i live in colorado so in the next competition here im going and maybe we could meet in person!
I own the Rubik's connected, and I got it as a gift. It was the first cube that I learned with.
Just bought a GAN 356 I carry on Dec 2021 I thought I would regret my decision after watching this vid but to my surprise I didn’t!
what i find amusing is that interface for cubestation just looks like your typical mainland china multiplayer mobile game, something like garena speed drifters (very popular with '08 hk kids)
That was really good comparing.
I got a GoCube for Christmas a couple years ago and it never turned on lol. I did get it replaced though
Yesss U finally Upload, Cool Video
I would also Like to add that in low light on the Go cube red and orange are really hard to tell apart.
Sooooo good 👍 I love this video
I have the Gan i2, and chose it because of the gyroscope, and do not regret it!
I needed this vid
The Rubik’s connected has a charging light on the white side
12:18 that transition was smoooth
The Rubik’s connected does have a light to show it’s charging just look at the white side and when charging there will be a blue dot
Question about these aps. Do all the apps work on iPhone and android? Are some exclusive to one or the other? It would be a point which could exclude some people from getting different cubes. (Doing Google searches hasn't helped me find the answer and I want to get a smart cube but don't want to get one which I can't use the ap)
I do know that this comment is almost a year old but the gan app works for both apple and android (i have it on both) i suggest the icarry
For the Gan 356 i3 a red light pops up when its charging, and a greenlight when its fully charged so its charging should be higher
My rubik’s connected has an led under the white centre that comes on when it’s charging. Might not be on all of them though🤔
I waited so long for such an video and 3 days ago bought the GAN i Carry after watching some of your and others videos. I hope I decided right for me.
Edit after watching the video:
With the result of 20 points for it I am quite happy to have bought this one.
The GoCube stand can be used to hold your phone - would go with 3/5 in Features category
i am in the exact same boat you litterally typed what i was thinking
Oh fr? Didn't know that lol that's kinda cool
This is so useful... now if only I had the money to shop and buy cubes
@Z3Cubing I recently bought some of your merch and I am super excited for it to arrive p.s what is the next cubing competition you are going to
Rubik’s connected Is very good so it deserves a higher score because it’s kinda fast it has a very good app and it actually does light up when it’s charging
Thoughts on the Xiaomi Magic cube? I picked one up. It's cheap. I like the cube but the app is very basic. Only shows a beginner solving method.
Hi dude, love your videos!
I really mean it, you’re one of the best cubetubers for me!
And I have a question:
I saw your videos about the Moyu Weilong AI, and then I bought it.
I have it a couple of months, but it feels really stretch, and doesn’t feel really nice…
It’s stretch that the cornercutting is almost not working, and I don’t like this feeling…
How did you tension your Weilong?
It will really help, thanks!
I have the elasticity in 3 clicks, and moderate tensions. Adding even just a bit of silicone lube helped a ton too.
I got my rubiks connected about 1-2 years ago and when its done charging it has a light on the white side.
If you let the Go Cube battery discharge below a certain level, it is permanently toast, a definite negative point. The Gan i3 charger has flashing lights to indicate the level of charge by getting faster and final turning red when fully charged - so should not have been downgraded for that. Also the gyroscope in the Gan i3 is a major feature. However you seem to agree with my conclusion that the Cube Station app does not show the turns you made in a solve which seems a big fail to me. If I'm wrong, someone please tell me!
Is the giiker cube sticker less because it looks like it actually has stickers
Idk just looking at cubes to get better at speed cubing and I just wanted to do comps with people since there is like no one I can actually do it with
Realy like the style of this video
I have a question: Can you lube a smart cube or will all the electronica on the inside break?
The best comparison before the video started I rated the cubes myself it exactly matched what I thought
Maybe I missed it, but has anyone built an app that uses the cube as an alarm clock snooze button? Like, the buzzer goes off and you babe to solve it to snooze or turn off the cube?
i just thought about this it would be so good to have a maglev smart gan cube
Question, (can you please answer Z3Cubing?) which Bluetooth cube should I get? Gan i3 or the Go cube
Thanks so helpful
You didn't mention much about online racing, as in the rubiks connected app there are 4 levels, with people/bots always available to challenge. My main reason for getting a i cube.
In all of my experiences, I've either just been racing bots (which obviously defeats the purpose), or I've consistently had to wait forever to find a real person. Frankly, I've just never had fun in either of those scenarios.
@@Z3Cubing There is an Electronic Chess Set where you can play with people around the world, in that case I think slow game-play is good.
But when it comes to SPEED Cubing, you want to play as soon as possible and not have to wait, so I can see why it would get annoying and be useless, even if the feature is there.
Which app and/or cube would score highest for a beginner child just learning? Thanks.
I have Rubik’s connected and i really love it
Yep Moyu really need to sort out their app big time! While they are at it they could make a 56mm UV coated version, with either stronger magnets or the ability to add extra magnets. I'd also go for the Monster Go AI over the previous iCarry, not including the new iCarry 3 which I have no experience with. Good comparison 👍.
Edited: I forgot I can and did add extra magnets to the Moyu AI. Was thinking of the new wrm maglev which is different. But yeah I would love it to have a better app, 56mm and super UV coating!
My GAN i Carry battery died right away too... :(
I'm an absolute beginner and was going to for the GoCube Edge. After watching this vid i went for the Gan I3 and i'm really regretting it. I can't make head nor tail of the app. I was after something with easy to follow basic instructions. Other than learning the annotation for the algorithms I'm totally lost. I cant find how to even start with putting that into practice to solve a scrambled cube. All the tutorial vid are in Chinese... Going to have to send this back I think.
Really interesting actually... what did u do ? sended back and bought another brand ? if yes, wich one ?
Is there any cube/app that can correctly identify slice moves?
I'm from German and I got the giiker cube for 12€ in a supermarket (ALDI). The cube works totally fine and is very good!
I bought the Gan I carry s and I cannot wait to try it
If I knew Gan I3 existed before my birthday I would have wanted that but I’m still having a good time with my Gan I carry
Mine go cube Center Piece just brojke off a few months after iz came so it is go cubes fault
Great vid
Im now waitin for my icarry that ive bought recently - brand new for smth like 18$ 🤭
My Gocube did the same thing and stopped working and I am nothing but gentle with my cubes. The customer support said they couldn't do anything anyway.
Is Smart Cube good for a complete beginner? Can efficiently learn cube solving from the attached app and its tutorials?
You definitely could! If price is a concern though, I might recommend starting with a budget speedcube instead.
You are best cubing channel
Hey, z3cubing, when you compared all of those smart cubes, why didn’t you include the Giiker 2x2 smart cube?
Do any of the applications associated with these cubes tell you how to actually solve the cube? I want to buy it for my son to learn how to do it.
update: yes they do.
I got a go cube for Christmas and tbh u get used to turning
I got the Go Cube as a gift ages ago, but I haven't been cubing as much lately, so I still haven't really touched it. Some of those apps look very neat, though!
This video is very epic XD
@manh dung hi
The rubik's connected has a blue light on the white centerpiece when charging
It only stays on for around 10 seconds when you plug it in then it goes off, so after that it gives no indication of its charge status at a glance.
I prefer the gan 356 I 3 because it charges, I just think the carry is kind of a pain to change battery.
Love the table!
Can we keep it?
Will you try the x mars?
Underrated commenet
Can't help but notice him writing every number in every possible way
What about gan 12 ui freeplay?
Have you tried the Xiaomi smart cube?
(And I'm not talking about giiker)
This is the first time I saw a Gan cube cheaper than $50
Sou do Brasil, alguém me explicar qual é o melhor?
Will you be doing a 400k livestream?
Hello, I think the Giiker would have earned 2 extra points because he has a phone stand as a feature.
Can these smart cubes train us solving in different methods (ie Roux)?
Yes. At least the Gan does.
The rubiks connected is the first rubiks brand cube which is smooth
Bro if ur charging the Rubik’s connected on the white center it glows
It only stays on for around 10 seconds when you plug it in then it goes off, so after that it gives no indication of its charge status at a glance. You can give it a turn and the light will come on again for a second or two.
YAY best channel
21:09 why u smashing that cube?
How do you make a race by yourself
If you ignore the app, which is logical to do, since half the planet uses cubeast, the WeiLong and the two GANs are pretty much equal. Curious about the monster go smartcube though. I think Shawn rated that one was the best one.
What is Cubeast? An app? My son likes speed cubes and I’m buying him a smart cube for Christmas.

i 3 > I carry…….more features and a gyroscope is why the cost is more on the i3 but if you’re purely just looking to save money than yes go for the i carry
