I'm a composer with no experience playing brass instruments - found this video after googling "can a piccolo trumpet do glissandi?" ... The answer is HELL YES! (and to think, I was just gonna write a simple leap of a 5th lol). That's impressive and sounds awesome, really does Gershwin justice. Bravo!
Gershwin as a vaudeville music arranger makes sense and his compositions can be charming but as a classical composer he lacks talent and never reaches any sublimity of sound-it’s repetitive, basic, and seems to amuse those unfamiliar with great composers.
Y’know, Gershwin didn’t arrange rhapsody in blue. I’m sure he had some input, but he paid for it to be arranged for his specific instrumentation days before its premier. I thinks it’s funny so much is solo piano, I like to think the arranger was underpaid and got lazy.
Bro just gave every WW2 vet PTSD with that air raid siren.
I was thinking the same thing.
George Gershwin was a brilliant composer, who left the world a better place when he died too soon.
😂😂😂😂

as a brass player and composer, they all can!! go at it!!
Stop!!!
It sounds like the united airlines safety video you see when ur about to take off
Conrad Pope (John Williams’ orchestrator on Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc) was the one who arranged Rhapsody in Blue for United Airlines
Wish I could be this good
Amazing but it doesn’t sound quite as expressive as it does on the clarinet
Check out ridenour’s recording
He's playing clarinet music...
Yep and both instruments are in Bb so it doesnt really matter
@@Minecraft_Bowser I meant that as a compliment is all. Really high clarinet music is very impressive on the trumpet.
@@JudeKS10 OHHHH THATS MY B. It is impressive yeah but hes also playing on a piccolo trumpet
It is so difficult even if he's using a piccolo trumpet? Just asking
@@eardizzone_mus piccolo trumpet is smaller so its made to play higher than a normal trumpet. all the high notes would be easier to play
Love it!!!
Wow
I need to learn to play just that scale. I can give ww2 vets PTSD!!!!!! (All jokes)

interesting take tbh

Am sorry but a piccolo is just not impressive.
Still ain’t easy, but it probably would be quite a bit harder on a regular trumpet.
