    Hey man! Thanks for your videos, I'm just watching them one after the other soaking up all the knowledge, you've gained a subscriber. On the issues with propane not bringing enough power to the equation, are you talking about power electricity, or generating enough heat for a boiler on an espresso machine like the Astoria Gloria that uses a propane flame to heat the boiler? I've been in a few forums that say that a 2 group Gloria can pull off up to 30 latte's plus in their peak hour with minimal recovery time on their propane heated boiler. Is this just a bunch of bs? Thanks.

      Hey David! Talking directly about the heat to the boiler. Even at 30 lattes (not including Americanos or teas), that's only $150 per hour compared to a 220v, which I can draw 2 drinks per minute or roughly $600 per hour. ($5 per drink). But, to be frank, I'd love to test those theories and see what the actually peak performance is. Haven't seen anyone actually do the test.

    I got a Question Vince. I am currently running a Rocket Espresso R Cinquantotto Espresso Machine With Flow Control 1400w. I have other things on my truck as well but does not exceed my two predator 3500 linked in parallel. when it is heating up I have no issue but after it is warm my generator surges pulling 100 to 400 watts. I have tried just one at a time only running the espresso machine. I have also tried a different generator. any thought on this. thank you Sir.

    I'm curious how would a person hook up an espresso machine up to a mobile truck if you need a water source? How big is a typical water tank of a mobile coffee truck?

    Thanks, Vince. Can you please point me to a solar-specific resource? Excited to read the ebook we just purchased!

    About the negative loud noise on the generator, would it benefit to have an enclosure for the generator?...I see them on RV's sometimes.
    Thanks!

      haha! I thought the same thing! That's how I melted my first generator. Make sure you have good airflow, or it will overheat (which is not covered by warranty apparently). :)

    This might sound dumb but I'm trying to decide on if I should keep the fridge on at night (therefore keep the generator going) or get an extra fridge and store things overnight inside. That would take extra time to move things. But obviously it would take gas to keep it going. What are your thoughts? where do you keep remaining product and product for the next day at night?

      Hey Jordan, I plug in my fridge, espresso machine and 12v battery charger at night on an extension cord to my shop. Before I owned my brick and mortar, I had plugged in at my house. But I don't know if your genny will 1) Run all night and 2) Not get stolen...

    A hybrid truck running off solar and lp gas and a Honda generator running off lp fuel is possible. New panels don't need full sun.

    • @GreenJoeCoffeeTruck
      @GreenJoeCoffeeTruck  7 років тому

      Hey Jim, thanks for chiming in. I agree. You could totally run a hybrid. The logistics and cost might be interesting. LP generators are just as loud as gas. So there's no benefit there. There is a nice benefit to LP's stability and cost. My first generator was LP. Some of the snags I had, was finding fuel when I ran out. There's not LP stations on every corner like gas. Solar is awesome if you can afford it. There is a really good article written by an engineer who lives in an RV with his wife. I'll see if I can find it for you. If that's the route you wanna take, I would encourage taking a look at it....

    Hey there! I am wondering how many watts a generator should be to run a machine?

    • @GreenJoeCoffeeTruck
      @GreenJoeCoffeeTruck  6 років тому

      Hey Rebecca, depends on the machine you decide to buy. Look at the specs before purchasing and then tour your local Home Depot to compare wattage of machine vs generator.

    • @GreenJoeCoffeeTruck
      @GreenJoeCoffeeTruck  6 років тому +1

      Also, keep in mind, that is not all your truck will need for wattage. Look at all equipment needed to run the truck and then times by 1.3 to equate how much power you will need...

    You think 22,000 watt propane generac is too much for espesso machine, panini press, fridge, and griddle???

    • @GreenJoeCoffeeTruck
      @GreenJoeCoffeeTruck  5 років тому +1

      Hey Veronica, without knowing the wattage of your appliances its hard to say. 22k is a lot of wattage but did you plan on towing a generator benind you?
