The Evil Within 2 is the sequel to the 2014 video game The Evil Within. Similar to its predecessor, the game is a survival horror game. Played from a third-person perspective, the player assumes control of detective Sebastian Castellanos, who must descend into the world of Union to rescue his daughter, Lily.
In The Evil Within 2, maps are larger and there are multiple ways for players to advance in a level. The player is also given an item known as "The Communicator", which helps to highlight the objectives, resources, and enemies featured in the game's world. It will also reveal Resonance points, which provides hints regarding what had happened in the world of Union. Players can explore the map area freely to complete side objectives and scout for resources, which are scarce. Players can engage in direct confrontation with enemies using weapons like guns, or use stealth to prevent themselves from being noticed or sneak behind enemies to kill them silently.
Mobius is a corporation with unknown motives. With the aim of bringing the world "peace and order", Mobius created the STEM device, which connects human minds to an alternate dimension. In the aftermath of the first game's event, Detective Sebastian Castellanos was dismissed from the police department, and his story was not trusted by anyone. Desperate to find leads, Sebastian becomes frustrated and falls back into drinking, until three years later, his former partner Juli Kidman returns to inform him that his daughter Lily, thought to be dead years ago, is still alive but was captured by Mobius as the test subject for Union, a STEM world created with Lily's brain. Union, which is a reflection of Lily's mind, is extremely unstable, and Sebastian must race against time to rescue her and unravel the conspiracies of Mobius before it collapses. Meanwhile, he must confront different killers who had made their mark in Union, and face his own personal fears and past traumas.

This game feels like a superb mixture of Silent Hill, Resident Evil and Alan Wake. The environment, creatures, their appearance and movement.. Watching this is pure pleasure! That`s how the true horror should look like! Thank you for coming up with this masterpiece!

and i like the storyline but not this walkthrough. Crossbow hit like 2 out of 10 times same with the sniper rifle.

The first game was such unique experience, but Evil Within 2 was just an American straight white male fantasy simulator. Seriously this game is a complete insult to the first game.
the combat music in this game is excellent also the shotgun packs some serious power, best shotgun in any game
I'm only two hours in but I'm sitting here trying not to cringe and yell at my computer about trying to follow all the resonance points XD I'm one of those gamers that like to search EVERY CORNER of a game I can without going to the main objective but the game might never end then XD

I'm the exact same way because in gameplay every bit of ammo, goo, syringes, weapons, throwables etc count. I wish we could expand our inventory more.
Feels like Sebastian is more 'alive' unlike in 1 where he sounded all dry and cool. I like it.

Alright i just wanted to clear something up real quick. I know ppl are saying his skills aren't great shooting wise, I'd agree, he had about a 40% hit rate, and made what we thought were some terrible decisions when it came to gun selections. BUT, he missed some green gels and what we thought was alot of ammo. I watched pretty carefully, he took what he thought he needed and you know what? Everytime he was right!.. So, good job bud, great video. Plus he finished the game. Js. Anyways peace out

I cringed at every moment when this guy passed up green gel or ammo or other items, but when he got his ass handed in certain parts it made me smile. It's a play through, not a speed run.
Maybe for some people but I thought this game was shyt. Ridiculous stupid aiming, appears to be open world but it's not. Stupid hard. I hate games where you cant just fight your way out. You just spend most of your time running and then (like this game) your guy can only run for like 3 seconds and that is out of breath. It's so stupid. 2 thumbs down

I think this game fell short to its predecesor, running around following frequencies in the same place felt dull after a while
I have no idea which game was better to me. I love them both. The whole ending section with Anima where shes singing while you have to stealth around her was pretty awesome and heart pumping. The first game had me with the Sadist in the beginning and with Ruvik in I believe Chapter 9 or something where he randomly appears and chases you. Its hard to decide but I love both games.

This game’s story was trash. It ignored the first game and heavily focused on the story of Sebastian’s daughter and wife, which nobody was interested in. There was almost no story build-up and all the “emotional” scenes felt empty. It was really disappointing.
What else where they supposed to focus on?
@@RickCrimes9900 Ruvik and Leslie’s story, of course. THAT was the story of The Evil Within. Castellanos family story in 2 was sooooooo boring, predictable, unbelievably poorly written mess and honestly it didn’t get any deeper than what was already written in Sebastian’s journal in the first game.

Found this game disappointing to be honest. Not as good as the first game. Very limited maps and enemies can just be killed by shooting at them no strategy involved unlike some enemies in first game. I miss the matches. The coffee idea is silly. Enemy variety is not that great unlike the first game.

Lame. This is just a different version of Umbrella and Resident Evil. The first Evil Within was like Silent Hill. The evil came from within. Foul deeds and regrets. Strange how people can't differentiate their own evil from blameing others even in video games
