I have achieved Shikai And Bankai :P The next stage in my Shinigami development ... I must comment and like so as to get the YT Algorithms Aware of the truth... that is, this Channel.
Since Aizen believes that "a winner shouldn't speak of how the world is but how it should be" (my favorite quote from him), that actually makes him an idealist instead of a realist as most villians tend to be with Urahara being the realist. Aizen uses cold logic and reason to manipulate others and reach his goal but the obejctive itself is very idealistic, he wants to change the world and make it better in his eyes as he hates the current system. Aizen got to be my favourite character in all of Bleach, he is the most memorable thing about it.
@Rodiacreed I think it's split, when it comes to villains that are idealists and villains that are realists. Aizen being an idealist falls in the camp of Lex Luthor, Megatron(specifically G1, Prime, Animated, and Beast Wars incarnations to name a few), and Darkseid to name a few. Realist villains are the likes of Madara, Obito, and Pain from Naruto, Freeza(arguably given his cynicism), The Joker(arguably), and Two-Face to name the few off the top of my head. I was going to name Thanos as a realist, but every incarnation of him is more a nihilist. Although the MCU incarnation actually leans more to idealist given his scheme. Though sadly with Aizen, I didn't notice his idealism until this analysis video, because I lumped him in with the one-dimensional lot who wanted to rule the world "just cuz..." Which as a writer who's studied, the tricks, tropes, and trade of writing makes me feel a little embarrassed... -_-
"The truth exists for those that cling to it." "The betrayal you can see is trivial, it is the betrayal you cannot see that is truly frightening." That and the parable about courage in his closing words of the manga... This is what makes him one of the best characters and eventual anti-villians I've had the pleasure of looking up to.
Curious, what makes him an antivillain? I thought antivillains wanted to save the world kind of like Pain from Naruto if you watch that. Correct me if I'm wrong; doesn't Aizen just want to rule?
@@mr.sleepyhead8401 He also wanted to dispatch the corrupt nobility within the soul society. This motive is what coerced Tosen into viewing Aizen as being more just than the soul society and joining Aizen as a result. All of this was shown in can't fear your own world.
@@themrmezbah I could be wrong but you sure that wasn't Aizen manipulating Tousen like he did Momo? I could be wrong but it's hard the trust the words of a traitor.
@@mr.sleepyhead8401 No, Tosen's best friend was married to the head of one of the Noble Houses, the Tsunayashiro but he was a psychopath, he abused her and ultimately killed her but because of his position he go away with it and Tosen was disillusioned with the inner workings of SS, that's why he joined Aizen.
1 thing about the hogyoku that i often see people neglect to mention is that Aizen does state that it has a limit to its power, and that limit is the innate potential of the individual using it, thus implying Aizen always had the potential to become a god, which always explains what the hogyoku really is, a key used to unlock the hidden potential within the user
Makes you wonder what sort of person Aizen was when he was alive. What sort of past life did he have if he had enough potential to be a God, and the talent to go with it. For me, I honestly think that the past lives of characters in Bleach is going to be the most interesting thing ever.
@@HandleDeeezNutz it would be interesting to know, but at the same time latter introduced characters throw serious linchpins into the original living-->SS/HM | Hell and back. Yhwach himself WAS a human, albeit a quincy. Here's a theory, if you want to talk about the shinigami original sin style abstract theory; how old is Yhwach? Certainly > 1000., but more likely >2000 for sure based on what we know of Yamamoto's timeline (Yama founded G13 like 2100 years ago, and the epic battle between the two was like 1000 (around the time Yama became its captain commander). This makes one wonder a few things; - Who was the 1st capt commander? Apparently G13 was created and yama put somebody else in charge initially ? Or it maybe was a 'band of murderous thieves' as Yhwach described the first gen. If Yhwach was the son of the soul king, then basically the translation would be that he'd be like Jesus; son of god, sent to remove sin/suffering/death from the world, but gets killed because the world isn't having any of that lol
Nietzche and Aizen's ideals are exactly the though process behind ruthless and violent revolutionaries, that end up being dictators after they succeed, becoming exactly what they denounced. The feeling of being superior to all laws and moral obligations results in people who will do literally anything for their desires, and consider themselves completely righteous while doing it. While sometimes that might start off as noble, it usually ends in violence and tragedy, like what happened to Aizen himself). I think an Ubermensch stops being right the moment he starts destroying lives for his goals.
The way I see it, in Aizen's story the villain isn't Ichigo, Yamamoto, Zero Squad, or the Soul King, but Urahara. Some who was able to see the truth of the world like Aizen did, yet arrived at the complete opposite answer.
i kinda feel this way too. Since the one who understand about 'It' was only him and Urahara. The way Urahara wanted things to be 'peace' while Aizen cannot stand still and wanted a 'change'.
@@dayoolaleye1265 Yep, that's why he got angry at Urahara. One of the only times we see him angry, because he truly believes Urahara should be on his side.
Not gonna lie a Madara esque villain is something that we will see a lot more- I assume due to his popularity and mindset that makes for a great antagonist
@@Grayson-Winchester I don't think that's the problem, kishimoto I think he's a better writer than Kubo, but the quantity of problems in the last part of naruto is so great that I think they forced him to continue, otherwise I won't explain it
@Tornike Tvalchrelidze He wanted to change the world, because shinigami are either corrupt, or they dont know the truth. Urahara is an exception, he knows the truth but decides to go with it anyway. Soul King is not a real king, he is enslaved by the shinigami, he is like a lifeless corpse. The noble houses(most of their members) are corrupt and they are ruling through central 46 the way it suits them politically. Aizen wanted the fact to be revealed, he wanted the corruption to be rid of, and he wanted to create a just world. Thats why tousen sided with him. Yes, aizen wants to rule the world, because noone else will correct the system. So he takes the takes on himself.
@bsvdvj yzhhdvbf Aizen was evil, period. He wasn't trying to root out corruption or bring freedom to anyone. He considered himself superior and worthy to rule over all else. He's a nut job, just like Neitsche. He couldn't stand the thought of a higher being who might be more worthy than himself.
I used to like Aizen but then I realized that somewhere in his conception of how the world should be his former subordinate who was no threat to him at all and was loyal to him had to get stabbed in the chest in cruel, completely unnecessary ways twice. Human teenagers must be chased around just for fun because it is fun to terrorrize the weak. Also I realized he isn't all that, what with telling only your super suspicious subordinate the weakness of your overpowered zampakutou and almost getting killed because of it (but surviving and he totally knew he was going to survive ofc). He turned into a freakin butterfly how does anyone takes him seriously after that is amazing. And the best thing about him, being defeated by a teenager that you had numerous chances to kill but instead purposefully let him get stronger and then start having a tantrum when, what a surprise, he beats you. Oh, but he wanted to be weak, thats why he was defeated, he gathered all this power and beat all these people because he wanted to be weak. Hogyouku, you sneaky bastard, could grant wishes and kept that hidden from your creator. I guess such a wish shows Aizen is just an overpowered absolute mess of a character. At least that is the conclusion I have.
@@Amanda-ve8ls poor breakdown with personal bias. Remove your emotions and then analyze because analysis is done by keeping your bias and emotions aside
I generally love Aizen as a character, but I am a little annoyed at his portrayal in his final battle with Ichigo. Funnily enough, his behavior in that fight is pretty appropriate, since his smugness reaches new levels but he is easily manhandled by a child. As much as I want to slap him in that part of his story, it's a nice change to see him despair and lose his cool. I would actually have loved a spinoff with Aizen as a main character. Just some extra bits and pieces about him and his evolution into what he becomes, and how he came to be so powerful. I'm pretty excited to see him in the new anime series, especially since he is extra sassy in those chapters.
@@praz7 yes, it's better not to know more. I mean the reason you love any character is because they are portrayed in a certain way. Adding stuff now would just turn it into a Harry Potter kind of situation, and that was not pleasant
@Tornike Tvalchrelidze well, yes. That was Aizen's true loss in that whole arc, getting slapped in the face by reality. And no matter how much I complain about this and that, I like it more when a character frustrates me.
I think it was more common knowledge that bleach had so many underlying philosophical concepts and unique personas back in the day because the people in the West who actually read bleach was mostly comprised of nerds. Nowadays the fanbase has much more normies so people's analysis of anime has gotten on average poorer vs the previous demographic.
Tbh Aizen was the most consistent character to me. You kinda get a feeling that he was going to be the bad guy. What surprised me after CFYOW is that the soul reapers are just as bad as Aizen but we cheered them on the entire way.
@@akshatnautiyal6758 Spoilers there was this ultimate sin amongst for 4 or 5 Great Noble Families involving the Soul King before he was sealed away as it was them who betrayed, cut him to pieces and used him and his powers to create the current Bleach reality we have currently from Chapter 1 to Epilouge. Aizen found this out and like the video said felt he was too intelligent and ambitious to be ruled by a pitiful excuse of a king. Hell it's confirmed that if they couldn't use Ywhach they would've been using Ichigo as the new Soul King explaining those Soul Tickets, Kyoraku gave to Tatsuki, Keigo, and the others so they can visit Ichigo in the Soul palace if he'd be limbless and in stasis holding the world in place, if I recall it's the 5 Great Noble Families actions against the Soul King which led to the existence of Hollows in the first place I may be wrong so correct me if I am.
Aizen was absolutely right . If yawch is a part of soul king , split from the soul king right before he got his limbs torn and internal organ removed and sealed him inside a crystal. If yawch was destined to kill the soul king in future , then why didn't they allow aizen to kill the soul king and replace the soul king by himself . Yawch when he entered the soul king's room , he says "i will not tolerate humiliation further" before stabbing the soul king.so when the noble families feared that the soul king might end up destroying the world , they removed his limbs , take out the internal organs and sealed him , the soul king didn't fight back or resist or say even single word refusing , he just let them do whatever they want with him. The soul king has saved the entire world yet he was sealed , immovable , trapped inside a crystal with no organs , sucking out his spirit force to keep the world stable. It's so disturbing. Imagine being trapped for eternity like that. So , if yawch was a part of soul king born right before sealing the soul king, it might be possible for soul king to have started the circle which ends only when his son yawch kills him. Might be revenge , might be to end his suffering , might be for selfish reasons aswell , not sure though. But if it was eventually going to happen , why was aizen stopped ? It's as if the soul reapers were the tyrants and antagonists. Then there is nothing wrong with yawch trying to do what he did. It just becomes battle of survival , war between different groups for their own reasons and benefits. There is nothing moral on either sides. Whoever wins , they get to exist and run the world according to their will. Aizen even though his intentions came from pride and superiority complex , his actions unintentionally would released the soul king from being tormented for thousands of years by the shinigami . If this is all true , then them stopping aizen and imprison him was pointless. It's kinda disappointing to think this.
Kubo didn't have enough time to fully explain his story and the myth. He never fully explained those who were born with potential who are Aizen, Kenpachi, and Ichigo. Shounen jump shitted on the guy before finishing the story. Yet one piece and it's mediocre story is still continuing.
@bsvdvj yzhhdvbf Urahara didn’t betray the soul king, because he considered the consequences and decided, that they would be too severe. Aizen had no empathy or moral conscience whatsoever, so of course he didn’t care about any possible consequences. Also everything Aizen does is fueled by his own ambitions and his desire for power, not because he sees the potential of a better world.
The bad realization - we never saw Aizen's Bankai. The good realization - Aizen's power in the TWB War arc was above his Bankai, which means he didn't need to release it. I know it's unsatisfying but he was busting out his sword just by thinking about it because the sword became a part of him, fully and spiritually. The Ugly realization - He was in his chair for most of that arc. Imagine what he could do if he freed himself way earlier.
Well it's said in the CFYOW that Aizen's Bankai can only be activated to the people who already succumbed to Kyoka Suigetsu. So basically using it on Ichigo is ineffective or anyone who hasn't seen his shikai.
I have a theory about Aizen's 100 year plan. I think when he learned about the soul king he also learned about Ywach and the Quincy war and their eventual return so he deviced a plan to not only make himself the ultimate being but also ensuring that if he fails, others may help in defeating Ywach. I see that in the fact that he rarely kills anyone and instead pushes those with potential to become even stronger be it shinigami or hollow and in the end, Arrancar and shinigami unite against the Quincy and it is him with his best experiment subject Ichigo who defeat Ywach.
@@FallenOne669 yhwach is more of a bastard than aizen imo!! aizen told all of his pawns that he or nobody cannot be trusted they allowed themselves to be manipulated lol he haven't killed anyone after his battle with Gin yeah he sacrificed a couple people to reach where he's at but he saved more lives in the 1000 year blood arc
@@FallenOne669 nope your wrong Aizen isn't cruel He did not like the rules of soul society and ignore it and all he ever wanted was to kill soul king and change the rules cus he didnt like the soul king in whole That was his intention but he had to do many genius and bad things to attain the power to defeat the 0 division and kill soul king You camt call him evil or cruel
Bleach however is my first anime and I watched it when I was 5 lol. I still love it and I used to be really afraid to hollows I'd hide under a blanket.
I would say one piece appeals more to a younger audience than naruto, although I am only in impel down, naruto has some mature themes, more so than one piece, mean while bleach carries mature themes but most refuse to notice as they can only compliment the art style (which is completely fair as kubo has such a talent for design and art), unknowingly refusing to look past the flashy art and into the themes.
You know it's funny because Aizen wished to become/replace the Soul King (a powerless God; dutifully bound to one place), and Aizen becomes exactly that, except for the underworld version. It kind of has this 'fallen angel banished to the underworld yet ruling it' underlying tone to it. It's symbolic even location wise, Soul King is reached after climbing eternal stairs, and Aizen locked in the lowest depths of Soul Society. It's truly beautiful!
Really liked the analysis of the philosophy behind Aizen. But I wouldn't say that Urahara is like Nietzsche. Urahara is more like an Aristotle imo. A Realist who wants to improve the world but accepts it as it is, rejecting aspirations to abstract ideals. Aizen is like both Plato and Nietzsche, who are both Idealists.
what if, and hear me out, what if Aizen did all he did, not just to be the King of shinigamis, but also to prepare the shinigamis for the upcoming war with the Quincys? think about it, he knew the soul king wouldnt do nothing to protect the soul society cause the soul king cant just move, he cant do anything. so, if Aizen knew about the soul king, why couldnt he know about the Quincy prophecy? i think the real quest for Aizen wasnt for power, but for knowledge. yes he wanted power, yes he wanted to rule, but i think his actions have more to it. he started plotting since way before Ichigo was born, he was probably there when the shinigamis exterminated (almost) all quincys, i mean even in the end, Aizen fights agaisnt Yhwach and says "Welcome to my Soul Society", he clearly knew about the Quincy prophecy, and thats just one of the many reasons Aizen has stuck with me in terms of why i think he is one of the, if not the best, shonen villian of all time
Aizen was such a great villain and he offered some of the most memorable quotes from any Bleach character as well. It's a shame we never got to see his backstory as to why he felt disillusioned in the state of the world as is. I love how you did some really good and proper research on this as well, and went into the actual philosophical and religious themes that underpin so much of Bleach. Honestly, in some ways I wish the anime had never been, because I feel that a lot of the reasons why people came to dislike Bleach lies in the misunderstanding of having only consumed the anime over the manga, thus missing out on all the subtextual details you lay down which really goes to show how much thought Kubo gave his main characters. How can you know that Aizen's raison d'etre without having read his volume poem? You can surely surmise some of it from his actions and dialogue, but you will miss out so much of the clarity and meaning especially with regards to how it ties into all the deeper concepts Bleach is actually dealing with. With that said, I do think we can glean a bit of Aizen's history if we examine In Flames' lyrics for Stand Ablaze, which Kubo has cited is Aizen's theme song: "The time is now! (the time is now) Please tell me how (please tell me how) Set ablaze... Crying, remembering... How it used to be Scarred for eternity Was it meant to be? A life in harmony Bleeding, regretting... Solitary life Committing suicide Seeking sanctuary From this world contrary Stand Ablaze! (stand ablaze) Screaming as the flames caress my face Stand Ablaze... " The lyrics seem to imply some kind of abandonment resulting in loneliness and eventually resentment towards that which was perceived to be the abandoning force. Another way to interpret the lyrics would be a loss of faith, which is apt especially given Aizen's relationship with the Soul King. I am of course merely speculating, but what I believe happened is that Aizen lost someone very close to him that he himself once looked up to, and when he realized his own powerlessness in preventing the situation, he displaced his anger at the Soul King, thinking it is the Soul King's fault for being such a passive leader that allowed tragedy and suffering to occur. Ironically, despite Aizen being shown a complete lack of empathy and that he even seems to sadistically enjoy inflicting emotional pain via his manipulative behavior, he was not a completely selfish because he still believed that he could create a universe that would make everyone else's lives better. I believe the most defining characteristic between Aizen and Yhwach is that Yhwach only cared for himself; he was afraid of dying and he did not care how a lack of death impacted anyone else but him. The world was good as long as he did not suffer from death, whereas Aizen accepted that suffering was central to existence, but he disagreed on how such suffering was inflicted upon others, thinking that he should be the one to allowed to decide who gets to suffer and not suffer. Yhwach and Aizen therefore also represent two different forms of denial towards the path to Nirvana, hence why Aizen is presented before Yhwach.
Sosuke Aizen, sentenced to 20,000 years Muken for the crime of corrupting the youth of Seretei 😂 Shinji being the only person during all that time to suspect Aizen is a testament to just how good of an actor he must be and how cautious he is before he shows his hand. The fact that Aizen didn’t go completely nuts by pretending to be good his whole life is pretty amazing. Wish we had gotten more of him in TYBW but he did end up saving the day in the end. It seems like Aizen was going to be the antagonist again after Yhwach the way the story was going, that would’ve been cool to see him fight again in his right mind rather than the angry overconfident man he became in Deicide where he no longer even used Kyoka Suigetsu. Much like after Yhwach gained the almighty, Aizen lost his edge after he killed Gin, evolved again, and just became too confident which is very unlike Aizen. All that said, I do love Captain Aizen, evil Josh Grobin.
Wow I’m surprised no one talked about that aizen opening as always every analysis you do is always illustrated in depth and backed up with facts! Great work keep it up man. You’ve got great things coming your way In’sha’allah.
This video was all apart of aizen’s plan. Honestly aizen’s character and wanting to be a god are like light yagami. Damn this was a great video! We need a bleachverse origin video.
you know, i never really understood why Kubo let Aizen explain why death was an important aspect of life at the end of chap 686 but now, goddamn KUBO. and congrats on 10K 45:10, 45:50 - 46:35 to highlight the speech
It implies Aizen regrets becoming immortal. That's why having Aizen say it is impactful and meaningful. He understands way better than anyone what's wrong about not fearing death.
@@DBZimran Then why did you what you did at 44:33? That's not a poem about humans being imitations of monkeys, that's a disclaimer about Bleach being a work of fiction etc. Why did you talk about that whilst showing an unrelated screenshot?

27:02 SPOILERS My interpretation of this scene. . . . . . It is my belief that Matsumoto was sexually assaulted by Aizen's men. And upon getting to know Matsumoto more, Gin learned just what she truly lost - dignity, as any victim of that circumstance would. And that's what Gin vowed to avenge, not just literal piece of her soul, but more figuratively. This is why Gin's last words meant so much to me, because as Matsumoto learned to move on, Gin let his hate fester. But he viewed it as a good thing, because he wouldn't want her to be filled with hate as well.
@@ZundaiD it could be both that a piece of the Soul King's soul was stolen from Rangiku, AND she was assaulted as well. Besides, even with Kubo's supervision, the light novels do feel like a fan fiction. To me at least.
Super impressive video. Really great research and I like that you have literary and philosophical references to contextualise Aizen's character. I think it can help people to understand some plot elements that people misunderstand when they view Bleach within a vacuum.
Aizen is easily one of my favorite Anime villains of all time, he's a different boss villain other anime boss villains are mostly noisy but Aizen takes his time, even he killed Gin Ichimaru, one of my fav Bleach characters, i didn't hate him for that, he knew this was according to his plan
Well Barragan was dead , staark was dead , their opponents ready to fight Hallibel was going nowhere and out of the 3 was the only one to NEED wonderweiss s help . She was doomed either way
His ability from the hogyoku is greater than that of his zanpakuto. Remember just Ryujin Jakka's ability scared him and even with Kyoka Suigetsu, he surmised that he'd have lost. Then in his butterfly form he claimed to have trancended the abilities of shinigami and hollows, making up for the physical deficiency in an equal plane encounter with Ryujin Jakka. Before the face of a transcendent being beyond his evolutionary state, Kyoka Suigetsu's ability might as well be an escape plan.
Nah Aizen is actually stronger with the hogyoku, he became immortal after fusing with it.... Though one can argue even without the hogyoku, he was easily relative or above head commander level ...
I always liked that Aizen's desire at the end of the series is to be normal which mirrors what Ichigo wants. If Ichigo's friends weren't in constant danger then he would have never wanted any of the power that he has.
You made me feel like that pitch black room I was in, with only a tiny light to illuminate the immediate area around me, has completely lit up and I can see in detail everything it contains. I did undertand these concepts in my subconscious, which has drawn me to Bleach and compelled me to finish reading it many years ago, though I never understood the exact meaning behind this gut feeling. I have since then developed as a person, which allows me to appreciate these refined nuances all the more. Thanks for making this video.
Dope video bro, you're the only person who actually talks about the Buddhist concepts in Bleach, props man, you could even do an analysis of ego in bleach with ichigo and his hollow too
Aizen pretty much helped the Shinigami prepare for the Quincy war, especially when you look at how he helped Toshiro's growth. Think about it, the same conversation he had with Ichigo in FKT telling him that without hatred he wouldn't be able to surpass him. And that same hatred he's planting on Toshiro a prodigy shinigami by using Momo as a center piece. It's very fascinating on how far Aizen planned things, it's obvious when you look at the fact that he never killed anyone during the FKT arc only really injured them.
Me: How smart are you Aizen: oh? You want to know how smart I am? Well, I don’t want to brag, but........ Aizen’s thoughts: I know I’m smarter and better than you.....but I won’t say it out right....
Me: How smart are you? Kisuke: Smart? Why, thank you for the praise, but I'm really just a humble shop keeper~ see? Do you perhaps want some candy? They're on a discount!~ Kisuke Mind: *Thinks of a way to feed you with a genderbending candy and wipe your memories to make you his maid, meanwhile devising a plan to make you the ultimate weapon against Ichigo if he ever decided to go against Soul Society, oh and he was planning a new way to seal Aizen just in case while also making a time machine incase everything fails*
ok so for one, this video deserves sooooo many views and it's an insanely amazing breakdown so good shiza. Secondly, I think the creator of this storyline is absolutely amazing, I can't believe a person is able to write a story like this, it's actually amazing. Lastly, I'm at a loss on how to describe the coolness of the fact that yes, the hokyaku was used to attain great power, which is what Aizen wanted in order to replace the Soul King, but through this, even the extreme genius planning of Aizen was truly manifested in attempting to not be lonely... that's it. The Hukyaku isn't affected by any conscious thought, only true unconscious motive, and the fact that Ichigo was hit by this so strongly in realizing that subconsciously (truly), Aizen just wanted to have a person to share his attributes and motive... it shows that you never truly know what lies behind someone's psyche. Idk I can't even put it into words exactly, i just feel like humbled by the whole ideology. Goddamn m8
Ichigo is the main character of bleach? PLEEEEEEAAAAAAASE. We all know who is the REAL main character of bleach. The man who plan everything from the beggining the troll god himself Sosuke Aizen!!!!
This video, I have to say among the many others makes me wonder why people hate on Bleach. God strike me down if I said it didnt have its flaws but the way people try to simplify the shit out of it just baffles me.
Great analysis my man. I have to say i knew something was off about Aizen from the start the glasses gleam is a give away. His powers on the other hand sheesh. He was a villain so him actually winning was never in the cards, regardless of him man handling the cast for the most part or didn't get placed in situations where he was against characters that could truly put him on the backfoot other than Ichigo.

I know this is not a question about Aizen, but how come did Matsumoto and Toshiro recognize Captain Shiba when they went to Ichigo's house at the beginning of the arrancar arc. I mean he was their captain... And I don't think that Soul Society didn't know about Ichigo... I mean they know everything about the real world but they couldn't figure this much? I guess they must've tracked Ishin all this time... It's these two things I don't understand. What is your opinion? :D. By the way great content. I enjoy every second of it.
I assume they would have met Isshin earlier off screen. Choosing to respect his wishes to hide the fact that they know him, and he is a soul reaper from Ichigo. That's my own internal plot and wishes Haha.
@@DBZimran One more thing... I believe this whole story of Bleach was like a story of Aizen growing up from the guy that thinks to know it all, behaving like a selfish psychopath to a guy that finally achieved a kind of wisdom, realizing that his goals were after all impossible. He was after all the monkey that tries to catch the reflection of the moon, unfortunately not knowing the intricacy and history of all the things that happened before his malicious plan took fruition. Yes, he has the traits of a psychopath person but he lacked more in depth knowledge or he had the illusion that he knew it all. The zero squad didn't even squint when he got the fusion with the Hogyoku. Ichibei alone would have destroyed him. One must be a descendant of a "God" to make a dent in the strong fabric that envelops the stability of the worlds imposed by the 5 noble families and the Soul King. I believe Ukitake and Shunsui knew he was another revolted kid who wanted to show his superiority by flexing and by thinking he will eventualy surpass everyone. He was strong, was cunning, was a skilled mastermind of deception but he lacked the wisdom that comes with age and much more experience. That wisdom eventually would have reduced his pompousness, fact that we have seen in the final manga chapters in Bleach. After all he realized he made a fool of himself, and chose to finish his sentence as a prisoner of Muken. I believe characters like Kyoraku or Urahara are much scarier due to the fact that they lack that pompous pride that Aizen displayed so far. Sorry for annoying you with my point of view, again! :)))
@@geroszekeres7136 actually like DBZimran said , Toshiro did in fact see Isshin whe he came the first time to the human world in the arrancar arc . Kubo said in an interview that Toshiro wanted to respect Isshin's wish to move on with his life as a human so he didn't try to contact him , he also said that the animation team wanted to add this scene as a filler but he refused because he didn't want to spoil things, in fact the reason why toshiro even came with the other captains in the fullbring arc what Isshin's son aka Ichigo will choose , that's what he was referring to when he said " I'm glad he was the one to succeed Ginjou".

Hard to believe that Aizen wasn't the original choice as the main villain, How different Bleach would have looked if they did go with the original plan
@@ravial360 if u read CFYOW you will know urahara almost end up like aizen the only difference between aizen urahara is aizen is really prideful and arrogant person while urahara is far more humble person

Aizen was the evil the world needed, but his pursuit was later blinded thru his genius madness. The Soul Society and Central 46 as a whole are the real evil in the world of Bleach, the Shinigami are just the bystanders or sheep who don't know any better, but knowing the truth would destroy everything. The true way to fix the world is to get rid of the noble houses and have the SS and WoL co-exist by one knowing the existence of the other, and having people decide on their own what should be and what shouldn't. But then we would have a Matrix affect, where it would just reset back and worth from Perfect to Imperfect to Perfect worlds again and again.
Aizen is a truly terrifying villain, he literally manipulated every event to create Ichigo Kurosaki after learning Ichigo was born to a Soul Reaper & a Quincy and taking interest in his unique Reitsu
DBZimran: Have you ever seen a 50+minute long video on Aizen? Me: No. DBZImran: Would you like to? Seriously though, awesome video dude. I feel like you already know about it because Twitter DMS, but I really love this video. Thank you 😭😭😭 for this awesome comprehensively whole aizen analysis, I finally understand his philosophy and what he stands for, how it was built as well as why things played as the way it did. Really amazing research you did by the way, especially on the many nietzsche and Buddha references and commonalities, truly I say this with certainty, you are more informative on aizen and bleach than the manga readily shows.
Aizen really does resemble Lucifer who was considered God's "perfect" creation. He believed he deserved to stand above god and thought he could fight his creator. Then he gets owned by Archangel Michael despite his dragon form, Aizen's transformation also resembles somewhat a dragon I guess. Both were defeated before getting to fight god. Both were also beautiful (no homo). Aizen is one of the villains that really made me want to write my own story. It started of being very similar to Bleach, but have never liked writing characters that end up being clones or like from other stories. But I still see similarities at least if I write it. A lot of things that I considered Bleach wasted were things I wanted to include in my book, perhaps that was the motivation. Aizen's story arc was great on the surfice, when one listens to this analysis, but I feel a lot of things were introduced and done just for the sake of subversion or plot twists. An example would be the kidnapping of Orihime. Originally for speeding up the awakening of the Hougyoku, but then changed to luring the captains. All that build up that Orihime gets to do something and whether she succeeds to stop Aizen or not, those were moments I was looking forward to see. That would have been the Gin Moment for Orihime, but instead she did nothing of significant.
Very cool video. I once had ambitions to change the world, and I fell into a similar madness, but eventually I learned to accept the world for what it is.
I might be wrong but if u noticed when barragan died Aizen did nothing. Tho when starkk died what did aizen do. first he killed harribel and told Gin and Tōsen to move the plan forward. So Aizen believed Starkk was strong enough to change the tide of the battle. And when starkk died there was no reason to keep harribel anymore cuz she would’ve died.
Aizen himself fell prey to his philosophy of losers. he didn't imagine that he himself could get stronger other than messing around with hollow powers. he didn't know about transcendent states until he saw that Ichigo had accomplished it, and then the Hogyoku recognized this as his hearts desire and started directing Aizen towards that. this leads me to believe that Aizen didn't meditate or talk to his sword enough and started looking for external means of growing stronger after maybe? reaching ban kai

@Magne M well one of them did try to achieve a whole population of Uber mensch
Nice analysis 🌹💙💧☄️🌊💜
Aizen is an idealist for sure. Kisuke is the realist.
*Within every cynic, is a disappointed idealist.*
@Rodiacreed
I think it's split, when it comes to villains that are idealists and villains that are realists.

I saw a translation that says Laws exist for those who cannot live without clinging to them
Curious, what makes him an antivillain? I thought antivillains wanted to save the world kind of like Pain from Naruto if you watch that. Correct me if I'm wrong; doesn't Aizen just want to rule?
@@mr.sleepyhead8401 He also wanted to dispatch the corrupt nobility within the soul society. This motive is what coerced Tosen into viewing Aizen as being more just than the soul society and joining Aizen as a result. All of this was shown in can't fear your own world.

Facts, but no one not ready for that conversation.
Makes you wonder what sort of person Aizen was when he was alive.
What sort of past life did he have if he had enough potential to be a God, and the talent to go with it.
For me, I honestly think that the past lives of characters in Bleach is going to be the most interesting thing ever.
@@HandleDeeezNutz Yeah but idk if Kubo will give it to us.
This makes one wonder a few things;
- Who was the 1st capt commander? Apparently G13 was created and yama put somebody else in charge initially ? Or it maybe was a 'band of murderous thieves' as Yhwach described the first gen.
If Yhwach was the son of the soul king, then basically the translation would be that he'd be like Jesus; son of god, sent to remove sin/suffering/death from the world, but gets killed because the world isn't having any of that lol

Nietzche and Aizen's ideals are exactly the though process behind ruthless and violent revolutionaries, that end up being dictators after they succeed, becoming exactly what they denounced.

@@aozorahaou2643 Are you telling this from CFYOW?
Chair-sama is the most powerful being in the bleach-verse. Show some respect.
How we sure Aizen has a bankai or could have been using it this whole time 🤔
Well it's said in the CFYOW that Aizen's Bankai can only be activated to the people who already succumbed to Kyoka Suigetsu. So basically using it on Ichigo is ineffective or anyone who hasn't seen his shikai.
Wasn't it stated somewhere that Aizen actually could break out of his chair if he really wanted to? He just didn't do it for some reason.

No it's not that deep
@Lantang Satriatama HxH, Berserk are seinen anime and no way are they popular than Bleach and Naruto.

With that said, I do think we can glean a bit of Aizen's history if we examine In Flames' lyrics for Stand Ablaze, which Kubo has cited is Aizen's theme song:
"The time is now! (the time is now)
Please tell me how (please tell me how)
Set ablaze...
Crying, remembering...
How it used to be
Scarred for eternity
Was it meant to be?
A life in harmony
Bleeding, regretting...
Solitary life
Committing suicide
Seeking sanctuary
From this world contrary
Stand Ablaze! (stand ablaze)
Screaming as the flames caress my face
Stand Ablaze...
"
The lyrics seem to imply some kind of abandonment resulting in loneliness and eventually resentment towards that which was perceived to be the abandoning force.
Very good comment.

Easily one of the most iconic anime characters, Aizen truly takes the cake
Aizen was truly a phenomenally written character, and I would have love to have seen how Kubo thought about him.

Honestly aizen’s character and wanting to be a god are like light yagami.
Damn this was a great video!
We need a bleachverse origin video.
All According To Keikaku
you know, i never really understood why Kubo let Aizen explain why death was an important aspect of life at the end of chap 686 but now, goddamn KUBO.
and congrats on 10K
45:10, 45:50 - 46:35 to highlight the speech
It implies Aizen regrets becoming immortal. That's why having Aizen say it is impactful and meaningful. He understands way better than anyone what's wrong about not fearing death.
"What a smug bastard."
That made my day and got you a new subscriber. Wonderful video ^_^
You know, i really liked that aizen planned ichigo’s life from the beginning.
I didn't like that in my opinion he should have been an unknown factor in his plans
13:53 Holy shit guys i think he manually translates the manga pages check out the part over Ishin's shoulder. Props to you my man!
Yes each page is manually translated! A lot of work thank you for noticing
@@DBZimran Then why did you what you did at 44:33? That's not a poem about humans being imitations of monkeys, that's a disclaimer about Bleach being a work of fiction etc. Why did you talk about that whilst showing an unrelated screenshot?
@sleepy • 16 years ago Nope, I expected him to either delete it or ignore it. If it weren't me calling him out for being a lying bastard who clearly can't read Japanese, but rather stroking his fragile ego, I'm sure he would have replied.

That aizen intro was dope as hell
Super impressive video. Really great research and I like that you have literary and philosophical references to contextualise Aizen's character. I think it can help people to understand some plot elements that people misunderstand when they view Bleach within a vacuum.
Aizen is easily one of my favorite Anime villains of all time, he's a different boss villain other anime boss villains are mostly noisy but Aizen takes his time, even he killed Gin Ichimaru, one of my fav Bleach characters, i didn't hate him for that, he knew this was according to his plan
Aizen's relationship with the soul king reminds me of Lucifer's with God's in Christianity, the similarities between those two are quite intriguing..
He beat up harribel because he knew that the soul society would’ve killed her so he injured her.
Well Barragan was dead , staark was dead , their opponents ready to fight
Hallibel was going nowhere and out of the 3 was the only one to NEED wonderweiss s help . She was doomed either way
Marion Arda but did she die? Nope
Facts: Aizen is stronger without the hogyoku. He obsessed the power of the hogyoku that he forgot how powerful his zanpakuto really is.
@@primeroespadax Ultimately he would have trashed Yamamoto...
Nah Aizen is actually stronger with the hogyoku, he became immortal after fusing with it.... Though one can argue even without the hogyoku, he was easily relative or above head commander level ...
this is objectively wrong lol
Yall honestly think he would have won vs yamamoto no hogyoku magic bs. Hell without wonderweiss he would most likely have died from yamas *Shikai*
I always liked that Aizen's desire at the end of the series is to be normal which mirrors what Ichigo wants. If Ichigo's friends weren't in constant danger then he would have never wanted any of the power that he has.
I think it's about time I start watching Bleach.
I quite like the irony of Aizen's fate he wanted to become Soul King so came to share a similar fate trapped and locked away from prying eyes

Oh, man. I love this. Such an in depth analysis of a complex character and philosophy.
Me: How smart are you
Aizen: oh? You want to know how smart I am? Well, I don’t want to brag, but........
Aizen’s thoughts: I know I’m smarter and better than you.....but I won’t say it out right....
Me: How smart are you?
Kisuke: Smart? Why, thank you for the praise, but I'm really just a humble shop keeper~ see? Do you perhaps want some candy? They're on a discount!~
Kisuke Mind: *Thinks of a way to feed you with a genderbending candy and wipe your memories to make you his maid, meanwhile devising a plan to make you the ultimate weapon against Ichigo if he ever decided to go against Soul Society, oh and he was planning a new way to seal Aizen just in case while also making a time machine incase everything fails*

ok so for one, this video deserves sooooo many views and it's an insanely amazing breakdown so good shiza.

You deserve so much more rewards than those dumb short clips that fold ice cream and gain hundred thousands of views, this is extremely entertaining and highly in depth while all being connected thank you for your efforts

Your character analysis is truly amazing! I’ve been following bleach for near 10 years at this point and you pointed out so many underlying factors and thought beyond what was actually shown.
You deserve a lot more subscribers and I’m certain they’ll come.
Man, you deserve more subscribers than this. Your character analysis really make me understand the characters well.

I wish Gin and Rangiku could've gotten together
Then Gin should not have spent centuries murdering innocents
Aizen is a truly terrifying villain, he literally manipulated every event to create Ichigo Kurosaki after learning Ichigo was born to a Soul Reaper & a Quincy and taking interest in his unique Reitsu
man after the 30 min mark, you did the impossible, you some how made me love bleach even more

Me: No.
DBZImran: Would you like to?
Seriously though, awesome video dude. I feel like you already know about it because Twitter DMS, but I really love this video. It gave me a clear more deep understanding on Aizen’s character and taught me how to write a memorable villain on his level.

Aizen-sama is the best villain ever😍
And dbz imran you are dope man 😍
Just do this good work 💪👌
I never thought a villain could be so
Beautiful
You could say the same thing for half the supporting cast.
I wouldn't say aizen is like Lucifer. Aizen is more like Jesus, an inverted jesus (the antichrist) if you wanna look at it in a biblical look.
ok stop forcing the parallels
@@fvded9391 I'm not
M3rtyville You are Aizen is nothing like lucifer
Very cool video. I once had ambitions to change the world, and I fell into a similar madness, but eventually I learned to accept the world for what it is.
I might be wrong but if u noticed when barragan died Aizen did nothing. Tho when starkk died what did aizen do. first he killed harribel and told Gin and Tōsen to move the plan forward. So Aizen believed Starkk was strong enough to change the tide of the battle. And when starkk died there was no reason to keep harribel anymore cuz she would’ve died.
Dude. This analysis is one of the best I've ever heard. Great work.
