It was a bucket list of mine So much so I moved from California To Springdale I'm a workamper for Zion Canyon Campground and RV resort It's now my home!!!
Southern Utah really has some astonishing landscapes. Not far from there, you can drive way high up onto a plateau that has the best ever overview of southern Utah. It's green and pastoral, lush with typical red rocks outcropping from it all, and a lake with RVers camping around it. It's not super well know outside of the locals.
Zion has been on my bucket list for ages. My extreme vertigo prevents me from attempting Angel's Landing, but I could do the Narrows. I think I'd want to back-pack it top down, but would need someone to help carry my gear...I'm 70 yrs old and have a bad back and bad hip, so carrying a load over 10 lbs is a no-go for me. Hiking it with a small group or even one other younger, stronger person would be necessary. Great video, fuels my dreams.
What a beautiful place! I was nervous watching your camera on your bag the entire time! Don’t think I would have trusted myself to brave bringing anything other than the GoPro 😂
I loved this hike. Its beautiful and amazing... Even if you just walk the trail to the beginning of the river hike it's worth it. I used trekking poles and they were great.
My husband and I did the Narrows the first week of October. We rented the pole, socks, and shoes. I wish we would have rented a suit. I'm not sure how far we went. We were so cold. It was beautiful!

Nathan, FYI: when you start having trouble speaking, that is a sign of early hypothermia. You're a crazy man. Do you know what the cfs was? It looked quite high to me! Glad you did it and had fun. Its not easy.

When thinking about water temperature, think about what the temp has been at night for the past few days. The water comes out of the shadows, isn't completly warmed until a oarticular time of the year, so 50 degree ambient isnt necessarily what the water temp is as you found out. The suit is a little extra weight and slightly bulky. It can't be goofy looking since we have seen you in other goofy outfits and situations. Great job. You survived.
I've done this hike as well, not sure I feel the same about it as you do. To me the view almost seemed the same so other then the adventure got a little old.
My son and I wanted to do the narrows so bad but it was closed the year we went due to high water levels and rainstorms. Thank you for sharing! I hope I get back there to do it sometime. Merry Christmas!

Great video. At the age of 65 I hiked The Wave on July 11th of this year and did The Narrows the next day. What a great place.

I’ve done the Narrows and Angels Landing. I think the triple crown in Waterton Lakes is much more epic. You should try it. It’s amazing.
