I recording him secretly with my mp3-player. Furthermore, if you REALY know Pahud, you also know that an amazing feature is colours and sounds change. If you can't tell that this is Pahud then you have no right to comment or call yourself a flutist. As for the interpretation, that is personal opinion, and even the best of the best have bad days.

I don't believe that this is Emmanuel Pahud, this interpretation isn't him. The sound is bad, the attacks... and very other things!!!! It's very easy to put photos and other sound and say: This is Emmanuel Pahud!!! But I know that isn't.
The musical expression and flexibility is fantastic but the rhythm is all over the place!! Right from the beginning, the opening motive is played as a triplet instead of 2 16th and an eighth. Varese even indicates on the score that the piece should be strictly metric!
The opening motive was not performed as a triplet. The F natural was merely emphasized, which is common among interpretations of this piece to give the motive an upward feeling. (See Patricia Spencer's writing on this piece, really interesting.)
I remember this concert in Milan, it's actually not a very good recording. Pahud is making to much rubato and the style as well is not very appropriate
