Great video. I’ve got a January 1975 FJ40 - really early 2F. It still runs great & does all I ask of a low distance country/farm/hunting truck. Remarkable how durable that engine is - fun to tinker with & relatively easy to understand with all the forum content & the like that you & others share. Appreciate the Intel.

Nice! It is remarkable. Just a little regular care and these motors wont let you down. :)

Great information about the 2F. I like my ‘87 a lot. Power steering and improved cooling especially with a cooler thermostat. But now I’m fixing the coil and distributor system, which is as old as the motor. Thanks for posting this one!

I’ve got a ‘78 FJ40 and an ‘87 FJ60, and I’ve always thought it was a different gear set that made the ‘87 cruise so much better on the highway…but now I know the truth! Great video, thank you!

Thank You so much for all your videos. I'm in Delaware state and i would like to know WHERE i can buy Toyota Japanese Part\Aftermarket " Made in Japan ". I own a 1977 FJ40 with 2F motor with a Manual Transmission.

There are a great number of parts still available from Toyota that can be sourced in the USA. Some parts are not sold in the US but can be purchased from overseas Toyota parts houses. The best bet for domestic Landcruiser parts if you are not sure how to look up part numbers using the Toyota EPC would be to contact a Landcruiser specific company like Cruiser Outfitters.

Congrats on the new 60! I think you should first enjoy your truck for a while. Really get to know what you love and don't love about it. Also, what do you want this 60 for? Some people love the 2F and stick with it no matter what. Some people love the power of the LS swaps. If plan to load it down, do tons of miles, want to keep up with modern traffic and have a fist full of dollars for a swap... A v8 sure is nice. hahaha. But again, enjoy your new 60 for a while and get a feel for it and what you want. :) Cheers!
