Research bog filter and make one by filling a water butt with rocks and gravel and pump the water from the bottom through the top, it will help big time. A bog filter on the side with plants will have added benefits too. Will help with algae etc.
Pond guards were used to keep predators away from fish but they are so troublesome and messy as you see in the video. Technically I don’t do partial water change but to modify my skimmer box I will have to remove some water and refill it.
Perhaps you could build your own Pond Guard from Timber or PVC Pipes. However, other than keeping predators away from your fish, they are not really all that necessary. Do not get me wrong, the Pond Guard will prevent the Fish from darting out the water. As from Keeping predators such as Foxes away from your Pond, you can always sprinkle Garlic Granules around the edge of your Pond. After it rains, you would need to do it again, which is the only downfall, yet it does work. I use this method to keep Foxes and Squirrels away.🤙🏼🙂🤙🏼❤️
