I've always thought that the braid in the back was a french braid. I could be wrong but growing up watching the films its just what I thought.

The instructions for long hair also work for people with medium-short thick hair. The thicker the hair, the bigger the bun.

On an unrelated topic, I think red hair is unique and beautiful. I mean it. I only say that because I hear so many people with red hair get bullied for it. I hope that never happens to you.
It happens from time to time, but usually not too often and it doesn't bother me anymore since I love my hair color so much.
