Leia Hair Tutorial from Star Wars: the Force Awakens

- Rey got a lot of attention for her hairstyle in the new Star Wars: the Force Awakens movie, but Leia has always been the queen of fantasy hair and she's back at it in this movie as well. Here's a tutorial for the two styles she wears in Star Wars Episode VII
Difficulty: Moderately Hard
Hair Length: at least bra strap length (BSL)
Materials: bobby pins, small hair elastics, alligator clip, hair bumps (optional: texture spray, hair spray, clip in extensions)
Skills needed: Rope braid
Time cost: 20-45 minutes
ideal hairtype: straight or wavy

We’re going to the Georgia Renaissance Festival Saturday, which is May the Fourth. I have learned the hard way that wearing my waist-length hair down is a very bad idea with the Georgia heat. So I think I’m going to do General Leia’s wearable hairstyle in honor of Star Wars Day!
I’m experienced at French braid my own hair, even upside down. But still…Wish me luck! 😂
The spiral one reminds me of Leia’s crown braid on Hoth in “The Empire Strikes Back”.

I did this style for a convention last week, and I wanted to thank you for this video. My hair is only shoulder length, so I had to adapt it a little, but it looked really good and stayed put all day! Usually I need 600 bobby pins to hold my curls down.
I'm super bad at doing my own hair, because my curls work best if I don't touch them at all, so I really appreciate these clear directions.

Yesterday I watched SWVII (again :D ) so today I felt the only thing I need is Leia's hairstyle in my life, so thanks for sharing this vid, now I am running around with the twisted one.
