    3:17:43 pretty sure it's just a heat extractor. The newer armour has the nozzle face down but for mk 3 armour and earlier the nozzles are oriented as such, the power pack is also larger and less efficient in general. the arbitor ian has an 18min video on the evolution of power armour that u would really enjoy. Thanx for the reaction john I coudn't wait for this to drop!

    I think there was abit of confusion, he did go back to caliban but was faced by a corrupted luthor who had turned some of the dark angels to chaos. The ensuing fight destroyed caliban. This the lion being asleep for 10,000 years.

    • @JohnMatrixTV
      @JohnMatrixTV  9 місяців тому

      right but that happened long after he had sent luthor back to caliban to begin with right? i meant he should have returned sooner and dealt with those problems before it go out of control and luthor and others were corrupted.

      @@JohnMatrixTV ahh I see. The only reason I can think of is the ruinstorm had cut off caliban from where he was. I doubt he really had a chance to go back to caliban whilst fighting Curze etc. the way he was at the time I imagine the last thing he thought wa steered be an uprising on caliban. Maybe that’s what affected him most when he got there.

      @@sanguinius_yt that would make sense then cause it would seem like it would be important to him but the video kind of implied that he just ignored it because of his duty to the emperor

    Of what you said about The Lion being the most incorruptible, I agree, along with Dorn. The difference between Dorn and the other primarchs in Macragge is if Dorn was in there position he’d still make way for Terra regardless if he knew the emperor was alive or not. If so then he’d aid in the defence, if not then he’d make sure every traitor felt his wrath, death before dishonour.

  • @lchacho

    Pretty sure I read somewhere that Lorgar was the primarch that most resembles the emperor physically, at least his face if anything.

    The Lion has aged because he has been in real space for 10 000 years, the "fallen" marines he meets were sucked in to the warp during the breaking of Caliban and emerged back to real space much later on. Zabriel had been back for only 400 years. As you know time moves differently in the warp.

    Corvus Corax once saw the emperor's true face, and described an unremarkable man of average build, dark hair, tanned skin, with eyes of an indeterminate color, wearing a plain white linen robe, the only ornamentation a golden necklace with a pendant in the shape of an eagle holding a lightning bolt. After a moment it was overlayed with the face the emperor's most often seen wearing, an armored golden giant with glowing eyes and an aura of light.

    • @JohnMatrixTV
      @JohnMatrixTV  9 місяців тому +2

      so yea that would seem to confirm the emperor hides what he really looks like most of the time.

  • @s4bc
    @s4bc 9 місяців тому +2

    "Thutmose the third did not have his Dark Angels" is meant to explain that the Dark Angels are the ultimate weapon of the Emperor, he sent them to fight against true horrors, the most dangerous and vile enemies of mankind, enemies who were meant to be completely exterminated and not ever to be mentioned in the history of the Imperium. This is why the Lion said he feared that darkness and ash would be his legacy to his father's Imperium.
    The Dark Angels were also supplied with the most dangerous and esoteric weaponry, the vaults on the Invincible Reason contained weapons from the Dark Age of Technology including robotic constructs that are hinted to be remnants of advanced AI machines equipped with devastating weapons.

    It is hinted that the watchers in the dark might have warned the lion from the very beginning about chaos and its dangers, which would have made the Lion the first and maybe only Primarch that knew about chaos before the heresy.

    If they do the Horus Heresy and they do it right, it’ll be the best thing anyone could invest into today. The story, the scale, the characters and sheer epicness would be unbelievable.

    Lion has aged because he has been alseep for 10k years. The fallen haven't aged in the same way because the events of caliban threw them across time and space. typical warp shenanigans. Roboute has not aged since he was in stasis? Also, I swear some of the new lion artwork (of the older lion in current 40k) is based on James Cosmo....Let me know if u agree.

    Yup that’s 30k lions problem. He doesn’t understand the way his brothers act or think. That’s what separates Horus as a warmaster, his ability to get his brothers and sons. Horus was the most “human” of the primarchs in my opinion. His ability to put people at ease was his superpower. The Lion in 40k has grown from his old self.

    Every single one of the Primarch tried to bring order to their homeworlds, in their own respective ways. I think that we can savely assume that this urge to bring order, unite the humans around them and bring betterment to mankind is, or was, in some cases, hardcoded in ever single one of them.

    2:33:05 Guilliman is probably the most balanced and grounded. What makes him special is that he is a indefatigable warrior, consummate tactician and statesman without parallel. He understands humanity better then any of his brothers. He is competent. He understands bureaucracy, infrastructure and logistics. He is the perfect administrator and he can consume a far greater amount of information, able to multitask and process, greater then any other of his brothers. He's not bad at everything, him and his gene sons are like a jack of all trades, master of none.

    John please do the arch traitor, the Warmaster himself, the Lupercal next. Amber King did a great video on him and it'd be cool for you to actually learn of the downfall of the great Horus.

    This may be a recency bias thing but even as a Jaghatai Khan fan boy, I think the best plot for a Warhammer 40k film franchise would be a trilogy covering Warhammer 40k from The Lion's perspective. Reasons are. He grows up on a techno-feudal world with many creatures of chaos. That alone eases the audience gently into the 40k setting - space feudalism. His story covers growing up on Caliban, being found by the Emperor, the Great Crusade and the Horus Heresy. He is out cold for 10,000+ years and wakes up to see his father's Empire bastardized. It's a very audience friendly story that allows people to get a taste of the 40k universe without being overwhelmed.
    From the Lion and the Dark Angels perspective, you learn of the Heresy but you never really get to see the Siege of Terra. Good. It is too epic and can't be done justice. It should be one of those legendary events. If you're following the Lion's perspective you also get to see what has happened after the 10,000 years between. Again, a new audience doesn't need 10,000 of history. It just needs the Lion waking up and seeing what has happened and him stitching the scraps that he knows.
    He would change considerably as a character over such a trilogy as well. The whole thing would help lay down a foundation for a cinematic universe. The story of a 'first son' like the Lion is also something new audiences can connect with and with him being the template of all other primarchs, it makes him the 'grandfather' of all space marines in a way. So the Lion is the idealized space marine, the knight. Another idea that a wider audience can connect with. That bit with the Lion and Kurze would be amazing on screen. I know Henry Cavil will never see this but that should be the story he brings to screen.
    "Perhaps the Lion was not as loyal...and true as the mighty...perfect...Rogal Dorn"

      i just hope that henry cavil and amazon do 40k justice in whatever the show they make happens to be but a show on the lion would be pretty epic.
