Dawg i used to ride this bus in highschool what a trip.... i miss these busses! They were super reliable and smooth ride! Always sounded better than the bluebirds we had....
We have a 100th Anniversary (2016-17) Thomas HDX at my school. Bus 871. 8.9 Cummins. We also have 895, a 2019. (It was brand new in the 2018-2019 year.
Nice! I'm driving one of these for my summer route and I love it. It's a 2015 (built 2014) with a 6.7 Cummins and same transmission as this. Beautiful ride, great sound and a pleasure to drive.
Given that this is a 2015 model, it is very unlikely that it has an ISC, the ISC was discontinued in 2013 and replaced with the ISL... This could be a 2014 with an ISC but if its a 2015 it's either a 6.7L ISB or an 8.9L ISL
Guys guys guys The ISL 8.9 is literally just a nickname for the Cummins ISL 9. There was never any records of the Cummins ISL 8.9. So where’s the proof?
Not sure what you’re talking ab at all. The ISL is an 8.9L engine, they call it the L9 now and just round. It’s still the 8.9L block. Just look at literally ANY record and it tells you that displacement
Odd, because the district I drive for has the 8.9 in our blue birds, and a mix of 8.3/8.9 in our Thomas builts. Thomas is gutless and bouncy as hell, Blue Bird has kick and is one of the smoothest rides I’ve ever felt (for a bus that is 😂)
OMG UR JUST LIKE ME.... I LOVE THOMAS BUSES AND I MEMORIZED ALL OF THE BUS BRANDS AND MODEL... MY FAVORITE BRAND IS THOMAS AND MY FAVORITE MODEL IS THE HDX.... I ALSO LIVE CARS.... I LOVE TOYOTAS... AND I LOVE UR VIDS... PLZ MAKE MORE....
I rode a 2004 ic ce 300 handicap buses 204712 route 2242 and 204702. Route 2212 engine dt 466 E and I rode a 2015 blue bird vision bus 215833 same morning route and 2018 blue bird vision handicap bus 618011 same afternoon route engine Cummins 6.7
The chance of that happening is extremely unlikely because for one thing my school doesn't even have those kinds of busses (only Bluebird and Thomas) and second for about a year now I have been driving to school everyday so, sorry.
ISC8.3 got phased out around 2010, replaced by the ISL9, which was then turned into the L9 with new EPA regulations. These buses have ISL9’s until about 2019 where it then becomes the L9 (or the B6.7 if so equipped)
Given the fact I work with these buses, these are garbage, ironically we are selling all of them due to them costing over 50,000$ in maintenance after the first couple years, and buying 2006 blue bird all Americans.
I have Thomas built buses HDX bus new buses bus 501 and bus 502 the wheelchair buses in last year 2018 and I have bus 234 bus 235 bus 236 bus 237 bus 238 bus 239 and bus 240 in my Rialto Unified School District bus yard this year but I never rode on them yet but maybe next year they are going to bring more new buses this year like Thomas built buses HDX bus new buses wheelchair buses the bigger buses this year
That engine has power

Facts bro!
This sounds like an ISL

I agree, I felt so safe on this bus!!!

Definitely it’s a 6.7 Cummins and paired with the Allison MD3060
That transmission was discontinued a long time ago

I love the air brakes on these and the c2's 😍!!
me to
that engine is precisely why i prefer the HDX over blue birds
In terms of newer bluebirds or older bluebirds?
Odd, because the district I drive for has the 8.9 in our blue birds, and a mix of 8.3/8.9 in our Thomas builts. Thomas is gutless and bouncy as hell, Blue Bird has kick and is one of the smoothest rides I’ve ever felt (for a bus that is 😂)
It’s a Cummins 6.7
We had a bus just like that, but the engine caught on fire... So now we have a blue bird tc2000.
hey i live in St George Utah And Even Washington County i love these buses
does it have a AT 545 Allison automatic transmission or PTS 2500 or 3000 automatic transmission
Calvin Crews I have no idea. I would guess a 3000 but I could be wrong.
@@RyanEmeryLovesCars It does have an Allison 3000
The AT545 is a 3 speed transmission that was usually found on the Cummins B5.9 and possibly the T444E
@@superbrownsheep3777 4 speed
@@chadsheppard3576 No, it’s 3 speed. Who told you it was 4 speed

+Jonathan Orta If you like that, wait until you hear a Thomas C2 With a Mercedes engine!

Have you ridden a Thomas C2?
jp5150vh No
I've rode a 2010 IC RE300 maxxforce DT
Bus 339 with route 73
I rode a 2004 ic ce 300 handicap buses 204712 route 2242 and 204702. Route 2212 engine dt 466 E and I rode a 2015 blue bird vision bus 215833 same morning route and 2018 blue bird vision handicap bus 618011 same afternoon route engine Cummins 6.7
You're in Broward County, Florida.
He doesn't know about y'all buses.
Blue Bird Will Defunct In 2040 To End Their Production Forever
Request: Do a video of IC RE300
The chance of that happening is extremely unlikely because for one thing my school doesn't even have those kinds of busses (only Bluebird and Thomas) and second for about a year now I have been driving to school everyday so, sorry.
How about Request:Thomas Saf-t-liner C2
problock78 I am in he same district c2's are mostly used for sped busses
The not he
Route 73
Cummins ISB or ISL?
It's either an ISB or an ISC but I think this one has a 6.7 ISB
What is the difference. I’m looking at a 2008 Thomas with a 8.9 Cummins. I’m trying to figure everything out
my bus driver went so fast but the limiter is 70 mph
If I understand correctly, the new bus has the same engine as your old bus. Correct me if I'm wrong.
ISC8.3 got phased out around 2010, replaced by the ISL9, which was then turned into the L9 with new EPA regulations. These buses have ISL9’s until about 2019 where it then becomes the L9 (or the B6.7 if so equipped)
I ride a saf t liner c2
That engine seems quite alittlebit.
Ugh new thomas school buses, we have some and they are BUMPY and SLOW!! I wish Gillig made school buses still
Given the fact I work with these buses, these are garbage, ironically we are selling all of them due to them costing over 50,000$ in maintenance after the first couple years, and buying 2006 blue bird all Americans.
