The way the Ravens used to score on defense was unlike anything we've ever seen. The way they would pitch the ball back to open guys after fumbles and interceptions. Greatest Defensive Dynasty!
Nah that goes to Steelers maybe. Joe Green. Jack Ham, Jack Lambent, L.C. Greenwood, Mel Blount. But idk. No kidding the rivalry between the Steelers and Ravens
It was such a pleasure watching this dude on gameday. The way he was able to shut down and man the deep. Making quaterbacks fear throwing it deep or towards his general area at all. True mastermind.
174 career games and 643 tackles (531 solo), intercepted 64 passes which he returned for 1,590 yards and 7 touchdowns, recorded 6 sacks, and 13 fumble recoveries. Also a 9 time pro bowler. Ed Reed is the GOAT.
I saw a piece one time showing TB12 and Bellichek looking at film together, Ravens being the opponent was incidental. It went something like this: BB: "You have to find number 20 on every play." TB12: "Yeah, I know." Both looking at film. BB: "See, he starts here, but at the snap he's already drifting there." TB12: "What's he doing there? That screws the whole play up." BB: "Yeah." TB12: "F@#$!"
As a Browns fan I absolutely HATED that we had to see this dude twice a year 😭😭😭😭, but a talent like this you gotta just cherish and embrace every moment because we may never see anything like this again, So I thank you Mr. Reed it was a pleasure watching you torment my Browns for so many years 🤝
As a Raven fan, ANYTIME Ed was on the field you had a feeling something was going to happen. Truly one of the most exciting defensive players EVER to play the game. Even when he intercepted the ball you were still holding on to your seat because now was the return.
Cyber Wolf dude that's awesome. . I have been a hurricanes fan since I was a child I use to watch them in the Orange Bowl with my family all the time do me a favor if you do become a cane and play football. rally the team and beat the damn Seminoles for us. it's all about the U!!!
“I’ve told him to his face many times, 'You’re the greatest safety ever to play the game,'" Polamalu told The New York Times in 2009. “We all learn from each other, but we all learn most from him."
Ed Reed? Sean Taylor? Are you guys both joking? Please look at the stat lines for Ronnie Lott. Ronnie is inarguably the greatest safety of all time. Taylor didn't have a long enough career to even be on the list. ua-cam.com/video/oNabfHVX4Vs/v-deo.html www.cheatsheet.com/sports/the-10-best-nfl-safeties-of-all-time.html/?a=viewall ua-cam.com/video/sZkLNWqEfic/v-deo.html
I'm really glad i was a part of the Era of football that produced the greatest players to ever play the game..ed reed...ray lewis....peyton manning....Barry sanders....randy moss....Marvin harrison...Tom brady....the list goes on
+Wes Hardin the point I was making is that in my life time I've gotten to see a lot of the greats play...I wasn't in anyway saying they played together. ....
Ronnie and Ed. The absolute best 2 safeties I have ever seen play. I'm only 37 but it's hard to dispute those guys. Hard hitters with deep coverage skills.
Laynebrock, since BAMA started winning under Saban , Julio Jones has been the best BAMA player to hit the NFL by far, with Amiri Cooper , being the next, For a team that win as much as they have, many of their players have fizziled in the NFL, especially the RBs, I wont even start with the WRS, RBs TEs, and other skilled players on that 2001 MIAMI TEAM that were ALL PRO, PRO BOWL players
Jon Sanchez all of those people ahead of them on that list are way way higher in number of games played. Ed Reed has much more interceptions per game and interceptions per season than all of them. Also he has one of the highest interceptions per playoff game stats in playoff history and the most interceptions in the playoffs in history tied with Ronnie Lott but with much fewer games.
it is the fact he caused so many fumbles, recovers them himself, then proceeds to score off those fumbles. He stand out from all other safties by a long shot.
I LOVE Ed Reed as a player. I loved watching him play & just think about that season when he missed the first six games of the season & still led the league in interceptions. Crazy
My whole childhood right here. I grew up watching Ed Reed make amazing and unbelievable plays that had a huge impact on me. I will never forget you Ed Reed. One of my favorite players to ever play the game.
I just gotta say, Ed Reed was great but this music made him EPIC!! Great song choice, idc what any one says, breaking Benjamin brings true hype no doubt about it 💪 go Ravens!! 🙌
Most Ravens fans love Ray Lewis but Ed Reed is my personal favorite Raven of all time.I miss having him in our secondary. It seemed like he picked off almost every deep pass that went against us and he had so much swag.He made so many critical plays for us.If I had the ability to grant eternal youth to any athlete it would him....or maybe Flacco because Flacco is my second favorite Raven of all time and finding another QB as good as Flacco is probably going to be a son of a bitch.
Nicholas Spearman the ravens defense was average the year they won their last super bowl. don't play Flacco. he and boldin are a large part of the success. Defense and special teams weren't that great in the AFC divisional game
There may never again be another athlete as Physically, Mentally or Athleticly Dominant as Ed Reed was. He was fast, could intercept, could hit and is the best safety of all time.
Always love the INT TD return against Philly when LJ Smith catches up to Reed and Nakamura puts out his hands for a possible pitch and Reed looks at him like "you really think I came all this way for ME not to score?" Lol
The greatest Free safety to ever play. But serious great respect to all before and Ronnie Lott as well. But.. the greatest. Proud to say and grateful in this horrible lifetime that I got to watch Ed reed and ronnie lott in this lifetime. But #20. Thank you.🙏🏽💯
best safety ever. simply because he wasnt just a ballhawk who could land hits and intercept passes, but for the simple fact that he could return almost every interception for a td. he was also an amazing special teams player, both at blocking punts and returning.
A lot of people cite ray lewis as the greatest raven and from what he was as an emotional leader and outstanding player, it is hard to argue . however if tge chips were down or the game was close and you needed a big play in the clutch, you called #20
I'm a huge pats fan, but please don't delete this vid again, it's definitely worth keeping up. He had the upmost respect for Bill and Tom. Favorite safety to ever play. & the 2 songs couldn't be better. You did a good job
I basically live my life centered around Ed Reed and the #20. Throughout school to my own personal possessions is #20. My favorite player & Ravens of all-time!
As a Ravens fan, Ed Reed INTs were the best and scariest things. He loved to hold the ball way out and with just one hand... Needless to say, he fumbled quite a few INTs. That or he'd freakin lateral the ball! Terrifying! Looking back, you have to love him, even though I would scream at him to just hold the damn ball right!
Ed Reed was a god!!! No one better at FS. Ever! Im a stiller fan too. Ed just made it look 2 EZ. He musta spent countless hours studying other team's playbooks. Cuz he made it look like he already knew what was coming
always thought he was a safety but after watching this video i’ve realized he’s just a defensive wide receiver with the amount of touchdowns and interceptions he’s had
Both of those defenses were great, I agree. But something about those '85 bears.
The 76 Steelers then the 85 Bears
Chris Scully don’t forget the Big Blue Wrecking Crew
They were great defenses. For a single season, the Ravens of 2000 were unparalleled. Period.
It's crazy how good he was. He has so many jaw dropping plays that current players make once in their careers.
Qbs feared throwing at his direction. The best safety of all time.
Tom Brady feared Ed Reed. He doesn't fear many
I saw a piece one time showing TB12 and Bellichek looking at film together, Ravens being the opponent was incidental. It went something like this: BB: "You have to find number 20 on every play." TB12: "Yeah, I know." Both looking at film. BB: "See, he starts here, but at the snap he's already drifting there." TB12: "What's he doing there? That screws the whole play up." BB: "Yeah." TB12: "F@#$!"
i was boutta say that he studied he was always on the grind when you study greats you become a great
It was just throwing in general cause if the ball was tipped then he was almost always there
As a Browns fan I absolutely HATED that we had to see this dude twice a year 😭😭😭😭, but a talent like this you gotta just cherish and embrace every moment because we may never see anything like this again, So I thank you Mr. Reed it was a pleasure watching you torment my Browns for so many years 🤝

even as a steelers fan i think i can agree with that. Ed is the GOAT
@@2017_Football_Edit_Goddie hard ravens fan here, polomalu was an absolute nightmare, he belongs in everyone’s top 5 safeties ever list
Being a steelers fan it's hard to not appreciate Ed Reed. Easily one of the best to ever do it
Patrick b The U baby
Daniel Berrios I'm a cane of the future
Cyber Wolf dude that's awesome. . I have been a hurricanes fan since I was a child I use to watch them in the Orange Bowl with my family all the time do me a favor if you do become a cane and play football. rally the team and beat the damn Seminoles for us. it's all about the U!!!
Daniel Berrios I will and I play free safety I hit like Sean Taylor but I move like Ed reed and I'm loud like dawkins
Daniel Berrios and I'm a leader
You would think this was a receivers highlights with all the interceptions
Lol reed was a WR , just the opposite team threw it right to him
Nope he safety
nikon d3200 ur an idiot u missed the joke
@nikon d3200 r/ whoosh
“I’ve told him to his face many times, 'You’re the greatest safety ever to play the game,'" Polamalu told The New York Times in 2009. “We all learn from each other, but we all learn most from him."
Don Kennard wow never knew that, thanks
I never knew Polamalu said that...✌️🏈
We will miss you Ed Reed. Truly the greatest safety to ever play in the NFL. #RavensNation
Sean Taylor
ken cunningham Sean Taylor was a great safety and may God rest his soul, but he didn't play long enough to be the G.O.A.T.
+Jon Sonnenleiter true that
Ed Reed? Sean Taylor? Are you guys both joking? Please look at the stat lines for Ronnie Lott. Ronnie is inarguably the greatest safety of all time. Taylor didn't have a long enough career to even be on the list.

Andrew Hall that list is absolute shit. A top 10 safetys list and Brian Dawkins doesn't make the cut.
I'm really glad i was a part of the Era of football that produced the greatest players to ever play the game..ed reed...ray lewis....peyton manning....Barry sanders....randy moss....Marvin harrison...Tom brady....the list goes on
Barry sanders?
Yea...I'm 35....i got to watch Barry sanders play football
+hail2redskins1 yeah but sanders is before all those guys. he retired when the others were just starting
+Wes Hardin the point I was making is that in my life time I've gotten to see a lot of the greats play...I wasn't in anyway saying they played together. ....
+hail2redskins1 I know but I thought it was weird you mentioned Barry Sanders and players from the 2000s and not more players from the 90s
Thank you for the Ed Reed Showcase. Awesome player - He was an exceptional talent and my favorite Raven!
Ronnie and Ed. The absolute best 2 safeties I have ever seen play. I'm only 37 but it's hard to dispute those guys. Hard hitters with deep coverage skills.
Best safety hands down! Got a chance to get his autograph in the Atl. at a local Lowes store. Real down the earth and humble!
if you mute the soundtrack you can put any music on that you like. He just navigates the field so swiftly. What a talent.
thats what i do
Samarastube the music was gold in my opinion
that 2001 Miami team the best assembly of talent ever
it's all about the U
for real miami teams in the whole 2000s was crazy
Kiwanis Hinton Wait 15 more years to make that assessment...give this Alabama team some time ;)
Laynebrock, since BAMA started winning under Saban , Julio Jones has been the best BAMA player to hit the NFL by far, with Amiri Cooper , being the next, For a team that win as much as they have, many of their players have fizziled in the NFL, especially the RBs, I wont even start with the WRS, RBs TEs, and other skilled players on that 2001 MIAMI TEAM that were ALL PRO, PRO BOWL players
Kiwanis Hinton right
Best free safety ever. True definition of a "ball hawk".
he's like 5th all time in INTs and like 4th all time in defensive TDs. You CAN'T be a true definition of a ball hawk if you're that far down the list.
+Jon Sanchez top 5 is far down the list?
+Jon Sanchez what counts as a ball hawk only top 3?
Lavoi Wilder my point is everytime people speak of "ball hawk" automatically his name comes to mind. How so if there's 4 people ahead of him??
Jon Sanchez all of those people ahead of them on that list are way way higher in number of games played. Ed Reed has much more interceptions per game and interceptions per season than all of them. Also he has one of the highest interceptions per playoff game stats in playoff history and the most interceptions in the playoffs in history tied with Ronnie Lott but with much fewer games.
Almost brought a year to my eye I miss the good old days.
True definition of a ball hawk
Ed reed is the perfect mix of Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor
There should be an Ed Reed award in the NFL. Awarded to the best ball hawk.
E.D. Reed boy! Best safety you ever seen boy!
- Pat Mcafee
No fly zone with anti missile defense was who Ed Reed was.
it is the fact he caused so many fumbles, recovers them himself, then proceeds to score off those fumbles. He stand out from all other safties by a long shot.
i miss ed reed so much
Best FS in NFL history 💯💯💯
I got chills watching the ball hawk do his thing. one of the greatest
One of the few defensive players that you could bet on scoring a couple touchdowns every year. One heck of a player.
i aint goin lie this one of the best sports highlights i ever seen
Ray used to hit. Reed was the big play guy. He scored on defense and stopped scores. The MVP of the defense. The greatest Raven !!
I LOVE Ed Reed as a player. I loved watching him play & just think about that season when he missed the first six games of the season & still led the league in interceptions. Crazy
Him and Ray Lewis were so good together they really made the Ravens defense a major threat in the NFL
My whole childhood right here. I grew up watching Ed Reed make amazing and unbelievable plays that had a huge impact on me. I will never forget you Ed Reed. One of my favorite players to ever play the game.
Best safety of the 2000's, and one of the greatest to ever play.
I love how Ed Reed would always try to return an interception for a touchdown. Even if he caught it in the back of the opponents endzone.
Best Free Safety to ever play
*Strong Safety
+Eduardo Vicente *Free Safety.
Messier90 won dpoy as a ss
He has played both positions...
I just gotta say, Ed Reed was great but this music made him EPIC!! Great song choice, idc what any one says, breaking Benjamin brings true hype no doubt about it 💪 go Ravens!! 🙌

Now we have weddle which still can't compare
True but Weddle makes the pain of Ed being gone a little more bearable
MUSICHUSTLA flacco isn't that good at all if it wasn't for Ravens defense he would be ringless
Nicholas Spearman the ravens defense was average the year they won their last super bowl. don't play Flacco. he and boldin are a large part of the success. Defense and special teams weren't that great in the AFC divisional game
+Bsgrundle Don't forget Jacoby Jones' contributions.
There may never again be another athlete as Physically, Mentally or Athleticly Dominant as Ed Reed was. He was fast, could intercept, could hit and is the best safety of all time.
Love the music choice to go with this. My favorite player of all time🤘🏽
Always love the INT TD return against Philly when LJ Smith catches up to Reed and Nakamura puts out his hands for a possible pitch and Reed looks at him like "you really think I came all this way for ME not to score?" Lol
😁🏈😁🏈😂✌️
7:16 - Love how the music syncs w that INT
If you had Ed Reed, Ronnie Lott, Rod Woodson, and Deion Sanders in your backfield then I guarantee you'd never get scored on again
Champ in the slot
@@ReemoTheCeo night train*
Gotta run nickel now so throw in Charles Woodson too haha
who the hell dislikes a ed Reed video
All the Browns quarterbacks he picked off haha
+Mike Vaz Lol
bitch nighas thats who
Derek Anderson
Kevin Kolb
Insane the number of plays this guy made!
watching this video like.. that Malik right there!!! Such amazing instinctive plays, just having fun and so hype! i love this.
I miss ed reed and ray lewis
That's the first thing that popped into my head when the video started. It makes it kinda hard to watch.
+Randy Davis Agreed
Im sorry but hes my starting FS on my all time defense
DMOB79 Not Sorry Smart 💯
Don’t be sorry
The greatest Free safety to ever play. But serious great respect to all before and Ronnie Lott as well. But.. the greatest. Proud to say and grateful in this horrible lifetime that I got to watch Ed reed and ronnie lott in this lifetime. But #20. Thank you.🙏🏽💯
can't deny greatness
The greatest safety and one of the best players ever.
my all time favorite from the ravens then he was gone.........
You know that ball hit hard as hell when he blocked punts
Pats fan but really enjoyed the talented Reed. Amazing player.
Bill Belichick thought the world of Ed Reed... So did Brady. When those two men planned their games around Ed, you know he was good...✌️🏈🙂
Ed Reed is the best safety of all time.
best safety ever. simply because he wasnt just a ballhawk who could land hits and intercept passes, but for the simple fact that he could return almost every interception for a td. he was also an amazing special teams player, both at blocking punts and returning.
He doesn't even get told what to do or who to cover. He just sits out there and plays safety. Dope
Music fit the video well
Ed Reed was so good, Sean Taylor sat the bench behind him in college.... enough said.
A lot of people cite ray lewis as the greatest raven and from what he was as an emotional leader and outstanding player, it is hard to argue . however if tge chips were down or the game was close and you needed a big play in the clutch, you called #20
This guy was a total package player. He could play the pass run and return the ball for TDs
The reason why I became a Ravens fan back then was because of Reed and Lewis and now they're gone :'(
Tim Jørgensen fucking same man.. I’m from Missouri and the ravens were my favorite team. Went to a couple games at M&T even.
Bandwagon fan
im a big ravens fan so im so glad you made this.liked
Amazing tribute!
I'm a huge pats fan, but please don't delete this vid again, it's definitely worth keeping up. He had the upmost respect for Bill and Tom. Favorite safety to ever play. & the 2 songs couldn't be better. You did a good job
And Reed is BB's favorite safety. Even as a Ravens fan, it'd be nice to see a world where Ed was drafted by him, it'd have been crazy
This dude rocked. Wish he played for the pats
Greatest play maker ever Ed Reed#20
Bodymore MD
ever? there's more to come. but he is one of the greats.
I basically live my life centered around Ed Reed and the #20. Throughout school to my own personal possessions is #20. My favorite player & Ravens of all-time!
r we here for the music or here bcuz we wanted to remember why @Edreed was 1 of the best safety of all time💯💯💯💯smh......Go Ravens!!!!
I miss watching him live what a beast
The best safety of all time #RavensFlock 😈😈
a fantastic mix, much respect. don't listen to the haters of your music selections, Breaking Benjamin is dope and fit well here.
Best safety of this era
not better than dawkins #faxx
+Kelvin Bellamy u crazy
Kelvin Bellamy L
Boy no. He's better than Dawkins
not better than Charles Woodson
I remember the first song from one of the og nascar games. I don't even like nascar anymore but I'd play that game over and over again
Adam Mihulka Nascar 07. I used to play that game all the time
As a Ravens fan, Ed Reed INTs were the best and scariest things. He loved to hold the ball way out and with just one hand... Needless to say, he fumbled quite a few INTs. That or he'd freakin lateral the ball! Terrifying! Looking back, you have to love him, even though I would scream at him to just hold the damn ball right!
remember that boi had a U on the side of his helmet! One of the best, but the ultimate has to go to Sean Taylor! Rip brother! Forever the U!!
As a Steelers fan I always respected and feared this man
Ed Reed was a god!!! No one better at FS. Ever! Im a stiller fan too. Ed just made it look 2 EZ.
He musta spent countless hours studying other team's playbooks. Cuz he made it look like he already knew what was coming
Thank you for making a highlight video that doesn’t have foul mouthed rap the whole time
I've been waiting on someone to make a highlight video with never again by breaking Benjamin in it
This man covered the whole field. SAVAGE
it was my pleasure watching you in section 515 through out your career! GOAT #raven nation
Truly the greatest.
Best compilation i've seen!
always thought he was a safety but after watching this video i’ve realized he’s just a defensive wide receiver with the amount of touchdowns and interceptions he’s had
That was one harding hitting man right there. One thee best!!
I saw your video on vince wilfork and loved it, good work
This is magnificence.
I think what made him even better is that no matter what he had a blast plying, it wasn't always business.
Him & Ray Lewis was the reasons why I was a Baltimore fan
One of the best RAVENS ever! Better than troy for the Steelers!
no
jumplikejordan1 troy is one of the best strong safeties ed reed is the best free safety to ever play
Ndudi Enwereuzor can't compare these 2 different positions
Keith Turner both safeties, so WHO CARES?
Ndudi Enwereuzor troy was ok but ed reed was on point. i would hate to throw in his direction.
#20 was the best free safety the Ravens ever had I miss watching him play
Ray Lewis pressures the Quarterback and he has to throw the ball. And we know what happens next
