a profound quote by ali akbar khan "If you practice for ten years, you may begin to please yourself, after 20 years you may become a performer and please the audience, after 30 years you may please even your guru, but you must practice for many more years before you finally become a true artist-then you may please even God."

Dear Ken, You haven't changed, neither in you attitude nor in your great way to play. It was a touching time to listen you after quite a long time. So lot of nice memories, in your house, in the academy and various other time spend in contact with this so precious music. My Warm regard and thanks for all what you have done.

What a humble master Ken is!! Ali Akbar lives on through him, Alam, Tejendra and many others...! Aravndbhai, what a treat this was! Content of questioning was very off the beaten path....Thank you for that! Ambiance of Baithaik and quality of sound are so very soothing! Thanks once again!!

Thank you so much. Pt Ken truly has lived breathed and imbibed Indian music through his gift of sarod playing. He persevered with the long training with his guru Khansahebji. Not many of his generation would do that -- he was an exception and so fortunate he and we for that commitment and discipline.

Unbelievable subtlety in the rendition of the raagas. The phrases are embroidered with poise and mastery and also reflecting the signature musical contemplation of his guru. Encore from the bottom of my heart!!

Fantastic interview of Maestro Ken Zuckerman who is one of my favorite sarod players and probably the only student of AAK who learnt the most from him. With all due respect to Pandit Arvind Parikh I humbly disagree with his views of not putting Ali Akbar Khan's lessons on UA-cam. UA-cam now functions more or less like a library does and one goes to a library to attain knowledge. Knowledge should be out there for everyone to access and not be within some elite secret hard to attain firmament rationed out only to a select few. What if a poor person living in some remote village wants to learn this music and does not have the means to travel to the college? that was not the ethos of the founder of the Gharana Ustad Allauddin Khan. And boy was that Chandranandan in the end magic or what?

nice exposure on aliakbar khan sahab's compositions and his style of interaction with students. i realized after long that singing exercise is very important for an instrumentalist. the archive created is eternal but would be of great value only if made available to all those who are dedicated to music and would benefit them a lot. as suggested by guruji, be put on youtube on paid or free mode..otherwise would remain merely an archive for years to come..

Deepak, Arvindji (Arvindbhai Natverlalji Parikh) is in his 90s now and ↑this↑ might be an old recording (i don't know, just assuming).
and from the looks of it.. for close acquaintances, family only.
they might be based in Bombay www.lemuir.com/pages/contact_us.html
though the ancestors hailed from Amdavaad.
again i don't know for sure.. i just checked www.mca.gov.in/mcafoportal/viewCompanyMasterData.do for the details of "Lee and Muirhead private limited" and e-mail or phone numbers.
(he is a big industrialist in freight forwarding, multimodal transport field, besides being a musician).

Ek Artist hain Niranjan Haldar Ji Jinhone Ranjan Veena banayee hain. Kabhi unhe bhi bulaiye na... Just to see what the generation is doing to advance its instruments... His Veena is much smaller in size ... If people like me learn much about these instruments we might become next gen students.. :-)

Pardon my words...... My Pranaam in holy feet of every artiste... Tabla Accompanist is not able to match the mood and depth which Ken ji wants... The style of theka is disturbing the entire melody and emotional aspect of his raagdari... There is need to understand the art of Sangat...

Anurag Rathord I totally agree...after Kenji’s first comment about volume you would have thought he would have gotten the point but alas he did not.

@@iamblichus5318 that's how a calm and sensible artiste responds by totally ignoring what he couldn't control.... He is indeed a great artiste.. no negative expression on his face...
