We own a 22 GV70 3.5TT Sport/Prestige. It has 35.5k miles on it after 2.5 years and while we love it, it has had a few failures including one towed trip to replace an oil sender (CVV or CBB at 6k miles). The car is a joy to drive; however, dealership support is abysmal. Until Genesis separates all its Genesis dealerships from Hyundai dealerships, they will have upset luxury car owners being treated as Hyundai owners.
The fact Genesis did the interiors of the GV80 with little to no piano blk plastic is amazing. Seat belts should have been green and blue to give more contrast. Still beautiful interior.
Yes. Korean clunkers are better than the German ones. But they are still unreliable and have big ownership costs, especially after the warranty period. There is no comparison to Lexus (#1 reliable auto brand), with a #3 low TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) - unbeatable in the luxury segment.
Unfortunately Genesis is only slightly better than the German luxury clunkers. There is no comparison to Lexus, the most reliable auto brand. Thus, adding the low TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) #3 ranking, Lexus has the best luxury cars - confirmed by the lowest depreciation in the luxury segments, unlike this Korean brand (it's not in the Top 10 reliability nor Low TCO).
Actually, on average, Genesis cars depreciate 60% in five years, whereas Lexus depreciates 53.3% on average in five years, so it is not that big of a difference.

I was going to consider the Genesis until this year. They have decided to go with that god awful big screen tv in the front, and mounting on the dash instead of in the dash makes it even uglier. I really wanted a Pre-Owned RSQ8 as my next SUV, but this GV80 w/ Prestige package is growing ALOT on me. My only negatives of this vehicle are:
- WHY oh WHY isn't the wiper tucked under the rear spoiler?
- Who decided to REMOVE the VISIBLE exhaust pipes in the rear?
- I'd offer a Blackout Package (this I'd pay a premium for, maybe a Prestige+ package)
@GenesisUSA LISTEN to your customers, we are not wrong.
Is it just me. The old design looks more classy than this new one
True
It’s just you
Think it may be you. Love both, but, really like the new grill and steering wheel.
i don't think the side low chrome trim is new
Does anyone fell the still is still far away for use while driving?
nope
These manufacturers are getting out of hand with these screens
Good job! Hyundai
crazy. 80k
It’s actually a good price for something this loaded, look at Volvo XC90 T8, $82k and you get a FWD 4 cylinder with plastic interior
I have a new idea for Genesis, Hyundai, and kia. I won't put it in the comments because every time I post my idea, it comes to pass
I was going to consider the Genesis until this year. They have decided to go with that god awful big screen tv in the front, and mounting on the dash instead of in the dash makes it even uglier. I went with the BMW instead, they seem to be one of the few car makers that understand that people can't be trusted to keep their eyes on the road when given the option to be distracted by shiny things.
Hyundai Kia hurting from the tick tock thefts. Insurance companies now charging a lot to get insurance on them. Wonder if it is effecting Genesis?
This is just a fancy Kia and the resale value is gonna suck!!
@@Latarian_HoodRat that's unfortunate because they were a good value at one time
No
@@Latarian_HoodRat Genesis has already surpassed all U.S. and Japanese car brands in terms of emotional and technical aspects. Perhaps, considering the price, you can directly compete with German luxury car brands and get satisfaction similar to Mercedes-Benz and Bmw. If you look at a few cheap Hyundai Kia cars and judge Genesis cars, it is nonsense. The person who delivers more than 8,000 cars a year from Germany, the U.S., Japan, Korea, France, and so on is being honest. Recently, Hyundai Kia Motors is more comfortable and less broken than Toyota, Honda and Nissan, and Genesis cannot be compared to American or Japanese brands except Mercedes Benz and BMW. If you are brainwashed into Toyota's durability myth and Audi's German brand image, try driving about 10 Genesis.
LAURA NICE LADY 🤩😌🤩😌❤❤❤❤EDUCATED CARS ❤❤❤❤❤
Hyundai Kia are light years ahead of BMW BENZ and AUDI
It is wrong is to call an oversized 4/5 door hatchback a coupe because they think it sounds cool.
All this tech just spells trouble. I wouldn't buy but lease only to stay in warranty.
The Lexus RX is what competes with the GV80. The GX doesn't really compete with the GV80 since it's off road focused 2-3 row SUV
No exhaust, ruins the look. Trying to make it look like an electric car. Sucks
genesis brand is much better than american junk( cadillac and lincoln)
Id go Mazda Cx-70 with the 3.3L inline 6 turbo.
It’s terrible compared to this one
Recycled newspaper at gold trim prices
For 80k l would buy a 2 yr old certified Mercedes GLS instead,...it is a nice car though,... but if they come out with a 500+ Hp version, l may be more interested
Good luck with that… never buy used cars it’s dumb
😅
too many electronic doodads, if they want you to live in the car, gonna need a fridge and garbage disposal. i work from home and don't drive much, only need a car to connect to my smartphone.
Yea... Everyone else is cooked.
You guys just destroyed the car without exhaust
Cool fedora …. lol
Fake exhaust I won’t buy it
This is like an infomercial.
Paid for or just stupid praise?
Yes, it looks nice, it has a lot of features for snowflakes etc.
But the most important thing for a good car is missing: the reliability, even though is slightly better than for the German luxury trio.
There is no comparison to Lexus, the most reliable auto brand, having also a 2 times smaller TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) than the other luxury brands, thus having the best luxury cars.
Get out of such superficial videos!
@@Godwasyourdog, some uninformed snowflakes confuse truth with hate. Sad.
May God bless you!
Floats like a boat. Not to German standards
Horrible
Will never buy another Hyundai ever again.
Then why are you here watching and commenting on this?
What did you switch to? Kia? 😂😂😂😂
@richardb.5691 I switched to Mazda .
@imdone1965 Switched from Mazda to Hyundai. Never buying another Mazda. My 23 Mazda CX-9 CE was a beautiful looking car and fun to drive, but there were so many electrical issues from day one.
@terravision-birdeyeexperie4489 sure...
Good luck with Hyundai..
Lmao
This korea car will cost 70~80 grand? I would rather buy Lexus, Benz or bmw 😂
For the poor people, the korea cars seem cheap and in a good CP value, but you have to pay more attention to the resale, considering your low salary.Cause the resale of korea cars are as poor as your salary 😂
I want this but plug in hybrid
