I build a scratch built aircraft in 1988. I remember saying ill go taxi it. Did a check with nice tail lift on first power up stick forward to neutral perfect. So I just kept going. To check forward CG I did a slight aft pull, perfect liftoff....so i just kept going. Did some turns, stalls and power offs at altitude, all perfect. Approach and landing smooth. Flew it hundreds of hours all over New York State countryside for 14 years. Now I too old to get in it. Don't wait Don, time goes too fast...😊😊😊 Moses < I dont know how to send you picture of it.
Mate that’s awesome! That’s what dreams are made of and I’m definitely looking forward to the adventures we will have in Frankenstein. You are right, life is very short and must be lived to the full
Don, you'll have those wheels off again before you get those brakes right. Should have waited with those axle cotter pins? Also only need one cotterpin as it can go across axle through opposing axle lock holes...Moses
Cheers mate. You’re right, but there might be a chance of doing something taxi/movements before I get the brakes back on. There is a big open area where brakes won’t be needed for slow taxi. I used 2 split pins because I didn’t have longer ones that went right through. Probably only need the one, but I don’t mind adding a little redundancy. Cheers
@@donwtsnDon't taxi with calipers dangling on hoses or tied up even. It will leak? You might need to machine new rotors to be able to mount those calipers. Caliper mount has probably gotta change too. Gear welding mod in your future?
@@TadrjbsI had them tied up so I can move the aircraft around. If I was to taxi it like that it would be at a very slow pace. I don’t think it would leak like that. I reckon there is enough clearance between the caliper and wheel, but I’d like to do something with the fitting where the pipe attaches. If I can sort that, I think we should be good
Looks GREAT Don. The bush wheels make it even GREATER!.....
Thanks mate. They really suit huh

I have so much enthusiasm for what you are doing, just awesome to see this long term project near to completion.
Thanks mate. The thought of chasing you around the bush in your Hoot and your encouragement has been a great incentive to get flying
The new tires look *JUST* the correct size for Frank!! Nice job! 👍
Hehe yeah, I know what you mean!
🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
I love the comment "Have heavey thoughts" 🙂 The wheels look right now and less Stoch.
Hehe, got to have fun huh! They look much better now.
Proper Frankenstein shoes... 🥾 Lookin' good.
Thanks mate
Watching this from snowy SW Ontario. Excited to see more Frankenstein 👍
Thanks mate. Oh boy, send a bit of snow our way!
Trial and era, loved the countess quip. Well done crew.
Thanks mate. Yep, keep at it till it works huh. Fun times!
Looks great. Getting closer! Keep up the great work. 👍🏻
Thanks mate
They make spacers that go between the wheel and rotor. Should solve your clearance issues
I’ll look in to that. I might be restricted by lining up the split pin holes for the nut

@@donwtsn Test flight soon good luck. 🙏 ❤
Nice pair of Japanese safety boots there Don.
Hehe, I love em! I’d rather wear them than shoes any day
Looking good Don. Maybe pop out next weekend again for a Captain Cook if you're going to be there.
Thanks mate. Let me know when you are there and I’ll try and be there
