- I'll be honest in saying that I didn't know what to expect from the Model FET. I don't know what a Sunn Model T sounds like. What I do know is that I know John at EAE makes insanely good dirt circuits and that I had heard too many people I respect talk up this pedal. I am so happy to be covering this preamp and I think the results speak for themselves.

I just stumbled on your channel, and I was looking into this pedal to really get into that nasty, heavy doom sound but I'm glad I found this video and saw how versatile the Fet can be. Also, that dry tone was GORGEOUS. So warm and rich.

I've been using the Model FET via the FX return on my Victory Duchess and it's pretty great. Like having a second amp from which to stack different sounds on. I also love it with the Limelight. Thanks for the vid!

This is exactly what I want. I have been using the Model T emulation in AmpliTube 5 with my DAW (mostly because I have a thing for doom and drone). This will be perfect as I oscillate between heavy af Rat sounds and ambient Microcosm. So happy I now know this exists. Wonderful.

I'm using a GroundFX Burning Sunn as my preamp and it's AMAZING how perfectly these JFet Model T in a box pedals sound! Check out the Dr. Bonkers Sunn IRs to go with it, really completes the sound!

Hi Mark, one of my fave demos of yours for a while. Can you talk about amp settings please? When I put the FET in front of my twin it sounds like ass - John told me that’s because of the mid scooped nature of the amp… so the FET sounds awesome with EQ settings bass 0, mids maxed and treble 0. Either that or I run the FET into the FX loop of a Marshall origin to get it sounding great. You seem to have it sounding good into the UAFX ruby and dream (dream is a twin) - do you run any extreme EQ settings on the amp?
Both amps here are set pretty much how I always would set them. I tend to set and forget the UA amps because getting them to balance each other at both clean and higher gain tones can be pretty challenging. Because of that I try not to make changes but I didn’t really feel like I was fighting anything too much.

What brand of cables are on this board?
Looks like the Ernie ball flat patch cables. They’re great and pretty much all I use on my own board. They have a set that comes with a ton of different lengths.
Jimi Hendrix has been seen using Sunn amps.
