Jerry Lewis is A GENIOUS!!! The next generation loves he too.My children are 7 and 4 years and love this movie and specially this song and this great performance.*Supermusike don´t waist your time on this, you are a poor guy.KIsses.
I can't believe I found this film on You Tube!! My mum recorded it off the tv when we were young and we still laugh whenever we see someone do a 'Jerry Lewis walk' lol!!! I need to buy it now!
I loved this part! I found it creepy how her voice on the LP KNEW how Jerry was acting at the time (She sounded mad after it skipped, and she had a full mouth as Jerry ate the banana). And Jerry & Dean's faces as she went into her trademark fast-singing...priceless!
no need for words. this is simply great. i love jerry lewis, and of course dean martin. this scene is one of my favourite from the whole movie. too good.
Yeah, I felt the same way. Jerry and Dean have been my favorites for as long as I can remember. Im 23 now, but when I was younger in grammer school none of my friends even knew who they were. You've got great taste!
Yeah, I know just what you mean. This is one of the first Jerry Lewis\Dean Martin films that I had ever watched. When I was a little girl, my dad taped it for me and I wore it out, I watched it so much. Then one day I stick it in just to find that some how it had accidently been taped over. Luckly it wasnt completly taped over. I was crused though. Good thing it's on DVD now, I still have the tape. Lol.
The first to do this imitation was Mickey Rooney in "Babes On Broadway" in 1940. Except he sang in his own voice and didn't lip-synch to a record. He also was the first to end the song by yelling, "Hey, Ma!" Tom and Jerry did this too, in a cartoon, as did Bugs Bunny. As did Lucille Ball, on "I Love Lucy", and with her the record skipped and changed speed, as it does in this scene as well. Bob Hope imitated Carmen with Bing Crosby singing in accompaniment, in one of their "Road" movies.
LMAO I love this movie so much and this bit kills me. My sister used to make me do this bit... *facepalm* ... the embarrassing things you do to amuse your older siblings.
the HEY MA! was actually from a skit that Mickey Rooney did, didn't he? It was hilarious to see Dean Martin's face look surprised to see that. Best comical movie ever, hands down. :)
We can no longer make movies like that. Lewis was priceless. Carmen's expression is really funny. Love this movie. This and Bob Hope's line in Ghost Breakers are the best ever. (ua-cam.com/video/RWpU8sX10_4/v-deo.html)
Sorry,Supermusike.I was wrong to answer you in that way.You can use more violence to answer it.Please, for those who don´t like J.Lewis:don´t watch his videos just to criticize him.He is a great artist and a better human being.1 of the genius that still alive.¿You don´t like him? I really do and I love him!Guys...HAVE PEACE!
absolutely. i agree 100000000000%! he was absolutely amazing! and for someone to say such idiotic things about him, then that proves how much they know....which is NOTHING!!!
try searching Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis Collection volume 1. i think its still 40 bucks used online, but it truly is worth it to buy the whole set. Hope you find it:-)
jerry, dean and carmen wehere good friens... i don't think that jerry was jealous on someone, every one of them had a special role in the movie, and in these times professionality was very important.
how dare you say something like that! jerry lewis has more talent than i bet you could ever have! he wasn't impersinating her! he was doing that for the movie! he was supposed to be substituting for carmelita in the movie. he wasn't impersinating Carmen outside of the movie. before you decide to write something like that you might want to get your facts straight.
Peace be not with you. Jerry Lewis has been disgusting all his life. Carmen Miranda hated him because he deleted all her scenes from the film. I agree with everyone who says that his the greatest shit ever in hollywood. Miranda is inmortal. One of the greatest divas of 20th Century.
Well. I always detested Jerry Lewis! His obnoxious unfunny "sissy boy" manerism in those movies with Martin would be "too much" even for today´s patterns! Dean Martin, a mediocre romantic crooner was less detestable. But this disrespectul impersonation of Carmen Miranda is too much for my heart! Glorious Miranda deserved more respect in her last movie. She was stricken by heart attack soon after in LA, problably after seeing this piece of shit!
Jerry Lewis is A GENIOUS!!! The next generation loves he too.My children are 7 and 4 years and love this movie and specially this song and this great performance.*Supermusike don´t waist your time on this, you are a poor guy.KIsses.
