      With black men its very same. They want you when they have nothing. Once they get on top, they start betray their women, cheat on them, and considering them has one of the house furniture. They are UNGREATFUL. That is why divesting exist. White men are way more grateful and have a better sense of integrity.

    I agree with you Phil because I know Black women who saw potential in Black men and they elevated together. I get tired of our people putting all Black men or women in the same category and comparing us with other ethnicities who have not experienced our struggles, life history, etc. And we must still go to the root cause of these behaviors. Trauma that has not been healed, a renewing of the mind. Counseling and mentoring are so vital within our community particularly if there is not a father with strong male leadership skills and habits, leading by positive example.

    The problem is that when black women build these men with 'potential' at their lowest, they will upgrade once they achieve success. They have learned from the struggle love generations before them to date the best man for the job. I had a neighbor that worked at the time to put her then husband through medical school. Once he finished his residency, he bounced and left her with three children. She eventually remarried a provider some 10 years later and moved to a bigger home.

    I've been saying the same for quite awhile. White women in general (of course there are exceptions) don't stand at the finish line waiting for the winner of the race. White women can see the potential of the studious brother in class who rides the bus to school, while sisters are mainly checking for the star quarterback, point guard, or Pookie. This is why so many sisters miss out on successful Black men. Despite the popular narrative, most men don't forget the woman who gave them love when they had nothing.

    • @ayandamafuyeka1952
      @ayandamafuyeka1952 Рік тому +1

      No, not most men, just men in general.
      Problem is they think when they get the guy with the potential and help him, they can also do whatever they want. They think they can talk to him however they want, treat him however they want, disrespect him, and mess around with other men behind his back because he's not yet the man that he will be in the future, because according to their thinking he'll get kingly treatment when he's a king, and while he's a peasant he'll get peasant treatment.
      Do you honestly think that man is gonna stay around the moment he becomes successful?. No, he's gonna leave her where she is for someone new who'll respect and treat him better while she's left crying about how much she invested into him while leaving out the times she disrespected and belittled him.

    For a more concrete example instead of just saying potential. What other communities are looking for is "Competence, responsibility, consistency AND hard work".
    If all of those things are already present in a man you can actually build him up to a degree.

    Phil is actually arguing against himself here. A woman cannot invest in a man on the ground floor, while expecting him to be the sole provider simultaneously. That makes no sense. And when you factor in that most of the accelerated programs are for girls and women, how are men expected to be these super providers in the face of outstanding inflation? None of that makes sense.
    Do most men naturally want to pay all the bills? Yes. That's how we're wired. It makes us proud and feeds our souls to build and prosper financially for the family. However in this US-based society, most functioning households need 2 incomes to get by. Hell, that logic applies to most countries these days. So this is a false reality. And believing that this is achievable en masse, is destructive. Don't be a hero. Just adapt and survive.

    Dr Umar is actually 100% right with this, I've personally witnessed this for myself not just white women but even Asian, Arabs and mixed women so this.
    It's not just potential, but they tend to show interest in a black man's personality/morals as well. A lot of western blk women care more about financial status than a man's character or integrity.
