I've Been A NASCAR Fan Since 2004, And This Is Awesome.
Congrats BFM

Is BFM the first NASCAR UA-camr to ever appear on a broadcast?
Nah Eric estepp was

Nope. It was Brock Beard back in 2012 during the all-star. Speed had fans do the lineup and Brock did his "Slick and Swift Regan Smith" line.
I've been a NASCAR fan since 1999, when I was 6 years old. 24 years, I will never come to regret.
Great stuff! At the track everybody's one big family for the duration of the weekend. I've been going to the races for over a decade now and yes, as video title says black fans exist but I'm seeing more and more people coming out to the track in recent years and it's a beautiful thing!!!
Once we as a country don’t have to error a clip like this, that is when we’ll know as a country that we’ve improved and inclusion will be better than ever. That being said, great video!
Very professional, Darian!
I'm also a black nascar fan we indeed exist good to see other black nascar fans we gotta stick together bro🤘🏽😈Rowdy nation baby
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 That’s my children walking to their seats 😁 we come every year to Atlanta motor speedway
Congrats darian well deserved my man
Darian. Let’s go.
Darian Cameo
VERY PROFESSIONAL DARIAN
Been a fan of NASCAR since 2008. 15 years later, I still love it!!!
Is that a s1apsh0es reference?
I am NASCAR.
WE are NASCAR.
You are a N
WE are N
I watched this during pre-race show. Really good job.
Black Flags Matter got a cameo let's go!
@RowdyFan8 I only commentated on this because Black Flags Matter got noticed by NASCAR.
Growin up in South Carolina back in the 80's, we had no pro sports team. NASCAR was our pro sport, I was pretty much the only black kid on my block and actually one of the few kids that watched NASCAR. Today, I go to every race I can attend, I work in the gift shop at Las Vegas Motor Speedway & still love NASCAR & all forms of racing now as much as I did back then....
I am 65 yrs old and have been a NASCAR fan since I was 12. I remember going to the Miller High Life 500 at the then Ontario Motor Speedway and I have been a fan ever since. Awesome video thanks....
Darian wow!
Of course there are. Are they saying blacks aren’t supposed to be fans?
Believe it or not yea. I’m 28 now but back when I was in school, ppl would say’ “you’re black why do you watch NASCAR?”
“You must want to be a black redneck”
“You’re the only black person that watches NASCAR”.
And this was coming from black and white ppl. Not everyone thought like that but those would be the comments. Didn’t bother me tho 😂 I’m watching the atl race as we speak
Over twenty years ago MTV had a True Life episode about Black NASCAR fans. They asked one of the "Stereotypical NASCAR Fan" his thoughts on even a Black driver being successful. His respons was along the lines of "I think they would have a better luck racing in a Lexus." No matter how far NASCAR progresses with fan demographics, they will still, UNDESERVINGLY carry that burden.
It was a bit difficult to track down. The episode was about NASCAR in general. I believe the episode mostly centered around Dale Jr. The 1:16 mark is what I talked about. ua-cam.com/video/dSrEPnZJUB0/v-deo.html
No but people think they don’t or shouldn’t
Edit: *some people*
People like Kyle Larson throwing around racial slurs kinda imply otherwise lmao
Black Racing Driver checkin in. 🙋🏾♂️ Y’all follow me on my path to ARCA/Nascar and IMSA.
BFM’s Televised debut.
Now I’m waiting for the Asians and Hispanics because I’m a Filipino NASCAR fan for more than a decade.
I liked this video because of Darren Gilliam of BFM.
I Been A NASCAR Fan Since 1969 , My 1st NASCAR Race Was The Macon 300 In 1969 & I Was 8 Yrs Old , But The Racetrack Was Actually In Bryon Ga , I Remember Seeing Bobby Isaac , David Pearson & Wendell Scott , Richard Petty & The Allison Brothers
Gotcha
Asians, Hispanic, literally all races not just one
Fantastic production. As a POC I definitely appreciate the quick spotlight
start thinking of yourself as an american and not a subsection of such
Only Reecists care about your skin color.
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

Hey... awesome
The meltdown from those "anti-sjw" channels and on facebook gonna be glorious🤣
Not enough people watch to care.
They wouldn’t be wrong though. These segments are racist.
I love aldrelanin too
Congrats Darian!!
As a long time fan of NASCAR, That was a great segment! I've been in the black nascar fans page for a while now, And it's not exclusive to black people. All are welcomed!
😎✊🏾
I wonder when they're gonna do one for female fans. ☺
So apparently you're not watching the TV commercials then? Ever since this season started four times every single break for the 75th anniversary is that commercial with all women ending with that black little girl on a crappy version of a big wheel at the end, it's hilarious.
Says the one that posted racist tweets lately.
I do not actually get why this segment even had to become a thing.
In the United States, as with anything about black history, there was a large amount of discrimination with both black drivers and fans in the past. Especially in NASCAR since its roots are in the Southeastern United States where the most racial strife has historically occurred.
I would suggest listening to Donut Media's Past Gas podcast episode on Wendell Scott as that is one of the more recent discussions I've heard where they really encapsulate how many hurdles a LEGENDARY driving talent had to overcome just because of skin color. If Wendell Scott was treated so abhorrently and he was that good, other drivers and fans didn't have a chance up till the last few decades to enjoy the sport without continued pressure from racist fans and even racists within NASCAR. And it isn't just NASCAR: the Indy 500 itself has a history of banning black drivers in its history and doing everything it can to make it hard to give black drivers a chance (see Willy T. Ribbs and all the struggles he went through).
To this day, there are plenty of people in the US and elsewhere who somehow think that black people somehow don't like motorsports so I appreciate this segment even though it doesn't address WHY there is such a large disconnect between the black community and racing in the US.
What about Muslim nascar fans we exist
They don’t care they want more money and that is how they got it
There’s Asian fans too. There’s fans of every ethnicity. But you won’t see them represented, because apparently nascar things black people are too stupid to realize they’re just being exploited.
Darian
The national anthem was complete garbage Sunday who in the hell gave him the OK to sing it that way.
👏
Congrats darian
WHO CARES FANS ATR FANS. I don't give a s*** about your race. it's really getting old with people making everything about your race or sexual orientation. JUST BE F***#:: FANS and enjoy the Sport. we all LOVE.
This is nothing new as I was involved in the sport directly 20 plus years ago and there was many ethnicity and racial groups then.
Nascar needs More woked
Wow another UA-camr on Nascar coverage
French muslim Nascar fan of Moroccan descent, yes I exist...
This is really getting old!!!!
Besides the jinx man gettin on this, just is a wasted ad.
Very forced, but okay
Darian!
As a casual member of the international audience, I have to admit I didn't know NASCAR was a racist sport. It just seems such an abstract notion to worry about such a thing as a sportspersons race in sports that I hadn't even considered this. I can see I've been ignorant. I would never support racism or any racist enterprise. IIts up to us as individuals to demand better than this. Racist society has been on notice for some time as not acceptable. I should have been more vigilant to that fact that as the last few years of American history has shown, not all society has advanced sufficiently yet. While I love racing and I think NASCAR is awesome and highly skillful racing, this is not acceptable to me, and I would not support any sport or any enterprise that has a racist ethos.
There was zero reason to make this
DARIAN W
i have been a nascar fan since 1995 at 7 years old my alltime favorite racer is dale earnhardt still miss him alot
An answer to a question nobody is asking.
There may not be a super huge amount but even having to say "hey, black folks can like us too" will probably make less black people want to watch. Nascar is a very friendly sport!
NASCAR trying to score more diversity points.
Of course they’re bubba smollet fans automatically don’t like them
so your racist
Nascar trying to make it like the NBA still shoving the black people card
🗑🗑
So sick and tired of hearing about representation. Just enjoy Nascar regardless of any type of identity.
This. This whole clip is exploitation at its worst.
What about people like Kyle Larson throwing around racial slurs?
You don’t think representation matters?
@@channingchills No, not really. How far do we take such a concept? I think representation is a type of identity politics that is meant to divide the mass, making it easier to keep our attention elsewhere.
@@ak102986 Nah. It can certainly be weaponized by clowns on both sides of the political spectrum to serve an agenda. But at its core, it’s very important. People need to see themselves in a given space.
Using myself as an example, I would have never thought it was possible to make it out of my little po-dunk white trash town and go on to get earn a Master’s Degree had I not seen someone else do it before me. I could give you a thousand more examples.
Usually rappers wear the gear but know nothing about nascar lmao
I’m a white guy who listens to mostly rap and I’ve gotten called weird for that
Wokecar
What if we said white NASCAR fans do you think that would be considered racism??.. cuz you're singling out a color?
There singling out color!!! That's why I am!!🤣🤣💯
What about transgender people? Don't they watch Nascar? Your gonna need all the help you can get! Go woke go broke!
The Funny part You Know Even Know want the word woke means
@Beautiful Angel Blossom Well what does it mean cupcake?
Cultural appropriation much????
I don't think so as a Mexican here in Ohio we minorities get a bad rep for liking NASCAR since it's made fun of as a racist honky sport when that isn't the case. Normally I wouldn't agree with this in most sports but NASCAR is definitely an exception since it is predominantly white. Not that there's anything wrong with it it just makes people of color in NASCAR stick out ALOT
@@armani_raccoon2816 i think it’s bad for nascar to push this most nascar fans just want to see some nascar they don’t want the political side when they see a race
@@tonystewartfan2014 because bringing up the fact that different races of people enjoy NASCAR is somehow "political" GTFO
@@tonystewartfan2014, you know we're living in very tense times when a business trying to expand its market is seen as "political". The Black Consumer Market in the United States is worth over $1.5 Trillion dollars. And the folks who run NASCAR ain't dumb...they know that getting even a little piece of this market brings in additional revenue.
@@judefernandez9234 it most definitely isn’t it’s just singling one particular race out you could have included every race together in one promotion
😂 y'all don't know shit about the real NASCAR and it's history. Where it started , where it came FROM , and what ruined it in the past 10 to 15 years. NASCAR is on life support and fading fast.
What ruined it John?
😂🤣🤣 more of this , AND exist Black persons in the administrativ áreas , mechanics, etc , i never see only a race with white people , this Is not the 60's
