Ever since his shocking and historic win at Chicago last year, Shane has quickly become one of my new most favorite drivers. This man is one hell of a race car driver whether it be V8 Supercars or stock cars. SVG is a superstar and I know he is going to make his mark here in the US in NASCAR. His happiness and enthusiasm to be here makes me smile just as big as he was to his first top 3 finish tonight. Incredible run and here's to much more to come! 😊🍻
Wait until he hits some other style of course. Road course, even short track he could be amazing at.
He's not a nice guy. Used to bully a fair few people, plus a few years ago I politely ask for him to sign a Supercars hat I was going to donate to a mental health charity, he looked at me and screamed "Fuck off!"
I lost all respect for him that day

Shane is awesome. He’s a student of the sport, he clearly understands where he is at and has set himself the task of learning every detail. He knows he has to do an apprenticeship and he knows he will fail in the process, he’s starting from scratch. He doesn’t just want to race nascar, he wants to win and I’d be worried because he’s coming

He REALLY ran that race well. I had one eye on him the entire race and he kept his nose clean even with early adversity. I bet it won’t take long for him to learn to create rhythm on a less draft dependent oval track.
What’s with all the cars running out of petrol does that happen a lot in NASCAR?
Not typically, this race was rare with a late yellow coming out and a few guys trying to stretch every last drop of fuel.
@@peterstratta Yeah cool, thought it was a bit weird. Don’t follow it at all really, had a look to see how SVG went.
Plenty of cars at Bathurst have run out of fuel in the last couple of laps.@@w_stanky
@@w_stankythe last stage of the race could be made if you had 100% full tank and managed to save fuel. If U stopped for fuel on green flag you would go two laps down unless everyone stopped as well .. If U stop go down two laps then everyone else pitted on a caution they get basically free fuel stop .. wouldn't have been an issue if teams didn't think they might make it .. 10 lap longer stage everyone would have pitted sooner. The fact remains tho to me very suspicious the leader in 100% throttle entire stage fuel lasted longer than those in the draft saving fuel and the winner. Made it with out fuel stop having enough to do burnouts after the race.

Nope and i say that as a kiwi. Lots of strategy involved, huge skill and awareness while drafting and trying keep the tires from breaking loose on the high speed banks. They are pretty much on the edge most of the time.
Pretty easy to get a decent finish when half the top 10, runs out of gas...
