If I can make a suggestion...the outside (white) of the frames can be taped using low-tack painters' tape to make cleaning up easier after filling the outside gaps with the lime/cement mix. Also, since the mortar mix seems fairly wet, you could consider spooning some of it into a thick plastic bag, cutting a corner off, and then squeezing the bag like a pastry chef's bag to fill the gaps around the stones, refilling the bag as needed. Then using your caulking trowel, the mortar can be smoothed with the excess scraped off, the tape stripped off, and you have a clean, straight line and the certainty that the entire gaps have been filled. The outside edge of the mortar along the bottom stones should also be shaped with a bit of a slope to ensure the runoff of rain/melt water so nothing has a chance to sit and potentially seep back into the room. Certainly using your lime/cement mix makes it more water resistant than straight cement. Also, your choice of arched windows is absolutely perfect, and all your hard work is truly making your wonderful home come together. Thank you for continuing to share your journey with all of us!
Thank you. Someone else mentioned piping bags for it. I’m not sure I’d get all into the crevices properly with it. I had to push that mix quite far in to get the seal I wanted with it. In the smaller gaps it would likely work, but you may not have seen some of the gaps were huge 😂😂 thank you for you kind words though. I’ll use tape next time 😉
@@ashleywaters7198 having used piping bags a lot, I have found that the mixture pushes into the bigger gaps but you have to hold the bag right up into the gap or hole. It’s worth a try it might be a good tip. 🤞
@@janharkey5705Yes, a reasonable and excellent forward looking consideration....Be great to have a smallish vinyard, just for the Chateau owners, skilled craftsmen/ able helpers & guests/visitors! Nice to look down the road & be looking forward to how the 'surround' takes shape!
I’m sure the windows are a huge financial investment but they are worth every penny. They look wonderful, and will last a very long time, and will keep the extreme temperatures and noise outside. Love your enthusiasm and joy. xx
Absolutely stunning Ashe. Even digging and chipping out the old frame uncovers history. The rounded top of the frame and window looks so grand, and elegant. Yes, be happy and proud. Blessings to you all.
Everyone is commenting on how beautiful the new windows look, and they really are amazing. Could we get some love, though, for Terry's video editing? The way he seamlessly stitched the inside shots with the drone footage outside was a step up in his videography. I know the focus of the channel is the restoration of the chateau, but those of us here from the beginning have also had the pleasure of witnessing the evolution of Terry's skills as a videographer. We see you, Terry! Wonderful work, in front of and behind the camera!
Tight doors and windows mean comfort and savings, you should also seal the windows in the attic and it will be much warmer. These windows are beautiful👌

Just standing in front of the windows and looking out at the beautiful landscape is a gift. Awesome job!
The windows are gorgeous! I love the handles on them. I wish we had windows like that in every home but I guess that's what makes them special, the fact that we don't. They really are a work of art.
