Skiing Gauthier at Arapahoe Basin

Skiing Double Black Diamond Gauthier at A-Basin. Or maybe I should say navigating Gauthier. The snow coverage was pretty thin. I had to avoid a lot of exposed obstacles. I did manage to get through it w/o any gashes in my skis. To get to Gauthier off the Pali Lift, I skied Pali Cornice and Second Alley to the Gauthier entrance. I was skiing the right side of Second Alley and almost missed the entrance to Gauthier on the left. I imagine the runout at the bottom to the Pali Wog traverse isn't fun for snowboarders.

could've sworn I saw a rock and heard the nick about two turns into Gauthier after the traverse. and twice more near the 4:20 mark. miracle indeed! 😄

Ooof... looks stiff and crusty as it gets . Way to take it anyways though - sometimes this kind of stuff can be fun in a type II way
