I got a female yellow naped Amazon she is older than me my dad got her when he was 16 and he gave it to me so I knew that bird ever since I been alive it’s 38 I’m 22 that bird loves every person but my mom witch i don’t know why my would clean the house growing up it would get in her cage and throw water everywhere then fall off its perch so feathers would fly everywhere but I let her walk around my house because why not she loves my dog
I have a yellow nape, and we let him fly around the house one time and he flew straight into the wall 😂, I only laugh because he got back up and was okay. I love my bird! Yours seems well behaved, mine bites.
Yes - so I think most Yellow Napes bite. Lexi also bites a lot. We got her at 4 - and it is not possible to get the biting out of her - it is only about learning how to minimize it. Sadly. It is VERY common with this breed.
Nice work, but I would t call that first training or beginning..you had to do something to attract it, etc Someone that would set up and follow this as a first step would have a bird that stays on a stick and craps.. Perhaps make a longer video on all of what went into making that happen?!
I agree with you fully. The first steps were step ups (we got her at 4 and she did not know 'step up'). Then step up was a jump - and eventually a fly to. You are correct about this.
