- iCyclone's Super Typhoon MANGKHUT Chase: Intense footage from the inner eyewall of Category-5 Mangkhut in the far-north reaches of Luzon in the Philippines.
This storm is fully explored in my new TV show, Hurricane Man. Produced by ScreenDog Productions, it is be the definitive hurricane series, now broadcasting on Dave and UKTV Play in the United Kingdom, and being distributed by BBC Studios for the rest of the world.
The most remarkable thing is how tough this chase was from the outset: Yet Josh managed to get in the core of this storm; it speaks volumes about his fine skills, which show over and over in each of his chases. Kudos yet again!

Wow josh, really amazing video of Super Typhoon Mangkhut, the Category 5 storm really devastated the northern Philippines, with a lot of people in that hotel just hungring down and praying that they will survive, just a tragic experience.

I was born in the Philippines and I have heard about typhoon tisoy that struck the Visayas and the place you filmed on was my cousin's place after the typhoon I came to visit them and my cousin's school was completely destroyed

Mangkhut could've been more intense than "905 Millibars"; it might've even been a Sub-900 Storm. Just saying by the Dvorak estimates
Read Josh's report on this storm. 943mb recorded close to the eye. Don't think it was a sub-900 storm
It is less likely to be sub 900 since the background pressure at that time was a bit high.
Kevi Shader Sorry for late reply, Josh's reading was taken when the eye wall was collapsing as it has interacted with the mountain ranges of Luzon. The pressure reading could have been lower if he had been placed near the coast where Mangkhut made landfall. As it approached land, the eye was actually getting better defined and convection was exploding around it. It was very possible that it had peaked with Sub-900mb just right before the landfall.
Probably closer to a 920mb storm

@Josh Morgerman & Team hi Josh just watch a program on uk tv called; Operation cloud lab, Secrets of the skies. In which a team of British scientists fly across the US starting in Florida to understand the clouds in a airship.
They reveal some amazing stuff, especially why hurricanes are now becoming more intense due to a lack of air pollution.
I thought it might help give you a better understanding into past and future storms. It's has some ground breaking science in it and is really worth a watch, I think this was only part 1 of 2.
Please check it out if you have time.
