From the album "Boston" 1976
Video remastered to 1080p - Фільми й анімація
Arguably the greatest debut album of all time. Will never tire of hearing this song
This album, and Guns and Roses Appetite for Destruction, are the greatest debut albums of all time
@@ricknblueridge don’t think many could argue with that. Appetite ruined my life (in a good way)😜🤘🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁
the whole album!!! :))))))))))))
This one and Appetite for Destruction
I incredible debuts
I have always said VH's 1st but i would have NP putting Boston's
I went to a Boston concert back in the 70’s and Brads voice does reach this high with no help! Loved it
Tom Sholz is a musical genius. Brad had such a Greg voice but took his own life. Tom patented his guitar sound so no other band could replicate them
P
Baby Boomer here! I am so happy I grew up in the 1960's- 1970's! The BEST music ever!!!Great to see young people enjoying this music too! 🤗🥰🤗🤗🤗
One of the greatest vocalists in rock.
It was a tragedy that he took his own life in 2007, rip brad delp an amazing singer, sadly missed.
Brad Delp..Couldn't agree more 👏
The late great Brad Delp. Perfect voice.
Probably the most iconic opening acoustic ever !
Those soaring guitars + soaring vocals = more than a feeling. I'm flying again.
Boston's "More Than A Feeling" is an iconic, classic rock anthem that will never get old and it will continue to be played for generations to come because it is a "timeless masterpiece!!!" I absolutely appreciate you guys reacting to this, as it is one of my all-time favorites!!!
Greatest rock singer ever period !
Despite the innovative guitar and audio engineering genius of Tom Scholz, there simply can be no Boston without the unrivaled vocal contribution of the late, great Brad Delp.
R.I.P. 🙏
Tommy DeCarlo is pretty good, but I agree that he doesn't quite match up to Brad.
Fantastic song. Strong singer.
All talent in those days. NO autotune in the 70's.
Lead singer had a tragic end. RIP.
Brad Delp (RIP) had an incredible 4 or 5 octave voice that was beyond awesome. The greatest first album release EVER, IMO.
When Boston came out the critics panned their ass saying they were just the studio band and couldn't play live. Needless to say they proved them wrong! They used to play their music live note-for-note just as it was on the albums. But you've already said they sound just the same as
Know how yo tell how good a band is? They sound live just like their LP's. Saw them live in 77 and was completely blown away. They played for about 3 hours... One ofvthe bestcever concerts!
R.I.P Brad Delp . One of the greatest singers of all time !!!!
First time I heard Boston was in the summer 1977. They were the ones that introduced me to Rock n Roll. So Boston has always been close to my heart! Great reaction!
This album was the first record I ever bought. I didn’t have any headphones so I would start the record and lay in the floor with a stereo box speaker about 3 inches from each ear. I still love it just as much.
I used to do the same thing! 🎶
SAME!!!!!🤪🤪🤪👍
Wow, I thought I was the only one who ever did this! Then when I started driving I got a great system so I could crank it up and really appreciate it!
With You, Comrade!
Same here, my first album, I was 12 years old
RIP Brad. You were the greatest.
This is definitely the greatest song of ALL time…..never gets old 🙂
Boston has to this day the #1 debut selling of all time and Brad Delp's voice in second to none!
I'm pretty sure this is the studio version over a live performance. Probably the official music video. But in any case legendary. The studio version is Tom Scholz, the guitarist that wrote and plays everything except the drums and vocals.
My personal favorites from this record are, Peace Of Mind, Hitch A Ride and Something About You.
+ 1 obviously a live footage to go with the studio recording...A wonder nevertheless this song & album....I have the vinyle somewhere, though can't listen to my records anymore...no room for a record player anymore. Cheers from France
The clapping gives it away
Peace of Mind is one of my favourite songs of all time. Even down here in Australia if you turned the radio on in 1976 you would here this at least once an hour. I am a big fan of Boston, Kansas, Styx, ELO and all that stuff. I was into it as an 11 year old in 76 thanks to my older brother who played it all the time.
@@iankearns774 Same here only I was 14 at the time and it was thanks to my older sister who played Led Zep. Fleetwood Mac etc in 77 which was a great year for music!
Definitely...pretty sure a whole verse is missing. The second?
Their first album must be one of the top ten album ever recorded. So amazing.
What is really amazing about this song is the track you listened to was recorded and mixed in Tom Scholz basement and Scholz played all the guitar and bass parts. Sib Hashian drums and Brad Delp (RIP) recorded lead and all accompaniment. Truly genius level stuff for 1976!
Tom Scholtz ( founder of Boston) wrote all these songs in 1969. On this album he played every instrument and mixed it in his basement recording studio. He put the band together at a later time.
No he didn't. If you've ever seen PICA of his basement studio there is NO WAY he got a drum kit in there. They were overdubbed as was the Bass guitar by the players who later became band members.
@@LightWingStudios Pay attention LWS. I said he mixed the songs in his basement studio, not that he played all instruments there.
@@dentonatteberry6083 Pay attention Dick Wad. You said he PLAYED every instrument and he DIDN'T
@@LightWingStudios dude he did everything for the band except the drums
@@nzo_6543 Bullshit. Barry Goudreau did ALL the Lead Guitar work. Scholz played ALL the Keyboards and a few Rhythm Guitar Tracks. "Smokin'", was co-written with Brad Delp, and "Let Me Take You Home Tonight", written solely by Delp.
One of the Greatest Rock Songs ever written !!!
The guitarist Tom Scholz played the bass, the guitars and The Hammond B-3 organ and layered all the sounds of all the songs on the album for the demo tape. (all except for a couple). After the record company said "Yes", then he put the band together and taught everyone their part's so they could play live . Amazing!
Check out Rick Beato''s "What makes this song great" for all the little things you might have missed in your headphones on this song.
The handoff between Delp’s voice and the guitar is Olympic baton swap level.
Nothing better than driving down the highway, playing this whole album full blast!
"That bass player" is the founder and writer and the genius behind the group.
That bass player was not the founder and writer and genius behind the group. It was the lead guitarist Tom Scholz who created Boston.
@@deborahbelanger-palmer1469 oops, I thought he played bass.
So sad we lost him what a great voice
Saw them in concert at the Sun Dome in Tampa, FL. in 1995. What a crowd! While waiting for the concert to start, we saw a man with greying hair in his' 50's walk in, wearing a Tux. His date was a stunning blonde in a light blue floor length evening gown with a tiara, diamond earrings/necklace and white elbow length gloves. 10 feet behind them, in walked a 30's women in a black bustier, leather short shorts, fishnet stockings, thigh-high boots and black leather gloves. In her hand was a silver chained dog leash. This leash was attach to the man she was leading in. He was wearing black combat boots, black leather pants, a black leather vest (no shirt), spiked leather dog collar and a full head black leather mask! I told my friends "This Concert just went to the next level"!! The concert was awesome! I never saw so many panties thrown onto the stage!!
Thanks for helping me re-appreciate this JAM
If you ever wanted to capture the essence of a particular era in music, then this song could arguably be said to be the sound of the 70's!
And that's why the 70s and 80s will never be beat for music!!!!
Pop music anyway
You guys have the best reaction channel on UA-cam by far and Travis you are one lucky guy Susie is absolutely beautiful I love both of you keep it going Rick Adam's
and it *is* more than a feeling, to hear that old song play. I hate to use the word 'old' because the music is just as much alive and fresh as ever, more so when more generations of listeners react to it and love it, the way we always did. Someday, in Rock Heaven, all of Boston will be there to greet you at the door.
The 70's ROCKED!!! 🎶🎼🎵🥁🎷🎸🎹🎧🎤
I've been in love with this song since it first came out, could not believe the vocals and the entire song is a masterpiece!
One of the greatest songs of all time. Extra points to you all for sourcing an HD version of this video - I can’t even tell you the number of fuzzy versions I’ve seen of this video. Thank you!
Still one of the best songs ever...you should react to their Foreplay/Long Time .....and Hitch A Ride
In Chicago, dj The great Larry LoJack, used to tell his listeners to turn the volume all the to the right, before he would play this song.
Their entire 1st album was recorded by Scholtz in his basement studio. He did everything except drums and vocals. Drums were done by a friend of his and were added in vith the vocals after most of the songs were recorded musically
Barry did the LEAD guitars. Scholz took credit for them. He was an average guitar but GREAT keyboard player.
THIS WHOLE ALBUM IS FIRE...great drivin music...the album needs to be listened to as one piece of great music!!!!! Great reaction guys!!
Proud of our boys from Boston👍🏻
I was in jr high when it came out. I begged my mom to take me to TG&Y to buy the vinyl wore it out….. i told my kids 12-13 years old song this is the greatest song ever they sneered I called a friend just said Boston more than a feeling. He replied greatest song ever. Kids were shocked lol
FYI This was and still is the greatest Rock Song ever written and sang. This song they wanted to sing live the same way they recorded it and you can hear me coming from a mile away from my truck or Hog when this song is playing.
I was 5 years old when this album came out, and I would sit in front of my mom's stereo for hours and listen to this album, Kansas, and the Doobies. What are me to Boston is the amazing vocals and harmonizing guitars! ❤️🎼🤘🎸
Boston was the first concert I ever went to in the fall of 1978. 3 college buddies and I drove 70 miles to see them in Bloomington MN. It was a great concert! Sammy Hagar warmed up for them (I hadn't heard of him at that time but he put on a good show). Then Boston came out and opened with "Rock And Roll Band" if I remember correctly. It is kind of a story about how the band got together and got a record deal, etc. A couple other bangers are "Smokin'" and "Foreplay/Long Time".
Every song on Boston's debut album is at least as good as "More Than A Feeling". It's one of the rare albums where there are no clunkers on it. Every song on the debut album is still played in heavy rotation on Classic Rock FM radio stations to this very day.
When I am feeling down, I come here to watch both of you. Travis and Suzi, you are two wonderful people that always make me smile. You guys are so upbeat and happy and that helps me when I need the same!
Just gotta add, that whole album is smoking!
Loved everything on this album! The 70's were rich!!! Great reaction!🎶🎸🎶
I was 13 an bought the album when it came out. This album an band was ahead of their time. Brads vocals an he did it all vocals an background vocals is absolutely the greatest album of all time. Everyone of those songs a hit. I am so glad this group Brad an Tom especially are being recognized for the absolute masterpiece that it is. For me listening to it always evokes happy feelings I felt the music deeply an even now 45 years later it just brings joy
I've heard this song for over 40 years and I still love it
One of the best drummers
This is actually a shortened version of the album cut. There is another verse to this song that goes "So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by, yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in a summer sky." And you get the chorus one more time.
This song is just THE BEST, ever❤
The bass player is Fran Sheehan....I believe he was the only member in the band that had a formal education in music. However, they were all great musicians and they all meshed together so well. Thier debut album "Boston" was the first vinyl I ever bought when I was 14.....every song on it is awesome.
I saw them in concert in 78 or 79. Their live sound was incredible! It was with Sammy Hagar.
I think the dude on the gold Les Paul was the electronic brains of the group, Tom Scholz. He made this first album by punching prerecorded tape machines on and off for different instruments and vocals, Unbelievable! Thanks Tom!! R.I.P. Brad Delp. Why dude??
Quite possibly THE greatest rock song it has everything
This is the studio version audio that using some live video. Pretty common for the era..
This is an all-time classic that will never ever get old. Ever. Tom scholz is a genius on so many different levels and Bradley delp (RIP) with one of the purest Rock voices in history.
I was 16 when this came out. And it was a instant hit . From day one
eagle and boston the king long life legend
They where such a TIGHT band. Since i play music myself , watching a music video of a song is almost a must .
This was the studio dubbed over a live performance but I saw their first tour in Detroit and they did not disappoint!
that is correct
Thank you, thank you love Boston❤️❤️👵👍
Thank you Curt G! Yes, that base line...
was responsible for the demise of many woofers back in the day.
Brad Delp is an ICONIC lead vocalist. His high notes are unfathomabley unreachable by today's standards. Yet another rock legend gone too soon because of drugs. Absolutely tragic.
You mentioned the video, live performance is exactly what you heard on the radio. Many Bands had this mindset -Donnie Van Zant who formed the Band, 38 Special - told the Band Members, the people came to hear what they heard on their album, on the radio, that IS what they are paying for. No ad libbing, no extra thrills etc., as again, the Audience is paying for what they heard on the album, on the radio,
Brad Delp is one of the greatest rock vocalists ever.
Dwayne Johnson (the Rock) is married to the drummer's daughter Aja, who was named after the Steely Dan song "Aja".
Have a great day!
Favorite song ever.
The greatest debut album of all time. every track is a classic.
Its been said that the singer was the sweetest person you'd ever meet. The lead guitar player not so much.
Barry was THE LEAD GUITARIST on the album but Scholz took the credit. He was a scumbag that way.
I was a teen when this album hit the air waves and many good times in my high school days were spent with Boston blasting in the background. When lead singer Brad Delp took his own life in '07 it really hit me hard because his stunning vocals were intertwined with a lot of my life. Drummer, Sib Hashian, is now gone (2017) as well.
The band and the album that saved rock and roll from disco
Was reading Rolling Stone magazine years ago and they were interviewing the drummer for Boston and he said he has a floating drum stage in the middle of his lake at his home and that's where he practices his craft because the bass reflex off the water helps him fine tune his drum abilities just thought I would share that with you guys
I got to see Boston in 95 with the original lineup. SOOO glad I got to see Brad before he passed away. Brad and Barry Goudreau's vocal harmonies were incredible.
What a great voice a live performance? Anyway a. Song that has been part of my life since I was very young love it👌
Total heartbreak song.
I saw this band in concert in, of all places, Amarillo, TX. They are one of the few bands I've seen, who sound as good live as they do on their recordings.
Nice to see them listening to actual, pleasant music.
Got to see BOSTON live a few years ago , excellent show !!!
Their first two albums were greatest hits albums….
Brad Delp, one of the greatest rock vocalists 💜
The perfect song from the perfect album
This is my favourite song of all times . It is so sad that the lead singer committed suicide. RIP😇🙏
Brad Delp WAS crazy talented , rip Brad. 🤘😎🤘
The 70's were great for rock bands. This lead singer was quite talented and i believe did this album in his basement Great choice great album. Love your banter about songs.
Epic song. There are some songs that defy genre preference, I don't care who you are or what you love, there is no way you can't appreciate this song.
I’ve played classic rock since this album came out, and I learned so much from Fran Sheehan, the bass player. Even though the band didn’t last long they put out some of the best songs in rock ‘n’ roll!
Saw Boston's debut in San Antonio Texas , Convention center Arena accompanied with Black Sabbath & Moxy 1976
This was a MASSIVE hit in Australia too!! Played on the radio all the time..
This was in 1976, without sysetizers, great years, I was 12 years old
If it wasn't for Boston, there wouldn't be any metal fans.
You guys are beautiful. Please keep rocking and sharing.
As much as I love both "More Than A Feeling" & "Foreplay/Long Time", I would have to say that "Hitch A Ride" is my favorite; the guitar solo during the latter part of the song is LEGENDARY! 🔥🔥🔥 Peace.
Rock that 70s stach. One of the best upper lip bush fuzz ever. Oh yeah, Songs good too.
As others have pointed out, this is a concert clip with the studio version superimposed on the soundtrack (and the 45 rpm single version, with the second verse and chorus chopped out). Also, as others pointed out, the Boston "band" on the record on Tom Scholz on all guitars, keyboards and bass, Brad Delp on all vocals, and there's some dispute about the drum tracks (possibly played by either Sib Hashian, Jim Masdea or Tom Scholz - or maybe all three on different individual tracks). However, having seen live clips of this line-up on UA-cam, I have no doubt that they were all excellent musicians who were able to duplicate the recorded sound onstage with only minor variations and adjustments. Tom Scholz is a musical and technological genius, although also a control freak of the highest degree, which has worked both for and against him at different times. It's why there's not very many Boston albums in existence.
Spot on my friend but as a Boston fan from the outset, I wasn't quite happy with the live performance from the one concert I attended at Red Rocks in the early '90s. Maybe others can give input from other concerts but I got the impression they weren't a great live band. Hopefully my experience was an aberration.
