    Great looking quarters and equipment for a volunteer department.

      Their only station, and it’s fairly new.
      Seaford, Delaware Volunteer Fire Department is just on the other side of The Nanticoke River.
      About 2-3 miles away.

    It is so great getting to listen to the volunteer fire department siren again even if they are on video.

    The department I was on back in the day had paid drivers inhouse. Those of us who came by or hung out at the house would of course ride along however most of us responded with our private vehicles directly to the scene with blue lights

    Some people do have a point about the time to get out the barn, there were already 6 personal vehicles at the station so one would expect that truck to be leaving pretty quickly.

    Does the fire whistle sound a certain number of times to tell the firefighters how many units are needed

    • @rossnolan2883
      @rossnolan2883 4 роки тому

      random video guy yes It does sound off a few times so all fire fighters are aware 😊😊😊

      Usually a 2 minute cycle for the siren.

    • @pafireenthusiast8486
      @pafireenthusiast8486 4 роки тому +2

      It does not sound a certain amount of times to denote how many units are needed but it cycles enough times to alert firefighters sufficiently.

      1 whistle tone = assistance needed for an EMS call, 5 whistle tone = Fire call, I am in this station, we don't use the whistle for how much apparatus is needed on a call.

    Nice station, Nice apparatus, Pathetic response time! No joke! Back in my day we would have at least the first responding apparatus pulling out before the siren stopped! That's how we rolled at North Lenoir Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Kinston NC Lenoir Counties Finest!

      That’s all well and good if your firefighters live 30 seconds away.....

    • @EarlJSmith
      @EarlJSmith 4 роки тому +7

      Instead of being an ass who criticizes response time for a volunteer fire company whose members have to drive several minutes to get to, why don't you think about the fact that none of the firefighters are paid nor do they live in quarters. Dipsh*t.

    • @mex6280
      @mex6280 Рік тому

      people have to respond POV to the station from all over town, they don't live right next to it. For a call to come in and have a truck out three minutes later is awesome considering people have to go from home to the FD in a minute and a half.
