Did I accidentally download some random .apk file share for linux lol? PXv8.1_GCam-v1.2.apk Oh well, I got the right file now. Thx for these great decks.
I passed my Sec+ yesterday on the first attempt. I took the SY0-601 instead and for 2 reasons: 1) I completed the Google Cybersecurity last year which gave me 30% off towards the CompTIA exam, and 2) I went crazy on the 601 version of the Security+ Get Certified Get Ahead by Darril Gibson. I also went through some of Josh's 601 practice questions and Professor Messer's materials. Since I had started practicing for the SY0-601 and I still had the whole first semester of 2024 before it expired, I just ignored the new version of Sec+.
That is a really good technique...with network + I struggled big time with the PBQ...took me a huge portion of time to do that and made me rush for the rest of the test...so I failed, now I am on the security +...and I am terrified again from those PBQ...I think now I will adopt your method and tests, plus the tests that I have from the course that I bought...but this time I think I will buy the pbq from comptia this time, they are bloody expensive but...on my perspective, it has to be done! Ps: great contents!!!...I hope to get all my courses done soon so I do yours too!
Good stuff Man. The content is spot on, videos are getting better and that 1000 question tool is a great resource for people trying to pass the Sec+. ✌🏽😎
Josh always giving back to the community. it will be so nice if you could do the same for other certs like the Linux+, but perhaps it is too much to ask. thanks again Josh "IT Jesus".
Thank you for the valuable content you've provided for us! I really appreciate your effort. Quick question: Do you offer consultation programs? I would appreciate some one-on-one time with you, if that's possible. Again, thank you for your content. I hope you can answer my question.
Thank you for your videos!!! I went through a few of the questions and I have a copy of the study guide referenced on my kindle app. The page numbers are not lining up. Is there a another way to locate the information in the kindle app?
Great material but I'm not sure if I am missing something. I bought Darril's book and I am answering the questions in the link you pasted above. I am not using the Anki app. The pages you referenced in the answers do not tally with the pages in the book. For instance page 633 in your answer is page 353 in the book. Pages 658 and 676 in your answer are pages 366 and 368 in the book.
Hi Josh, for the practice questions have you ever considered putting the questions in sections? For example 5.1,5.2,5.3. To basically focus on specific areas in the exams
So question! Is these old security + study guide any good being that this new version of the exam came out. I’ve had the book almost two years but never used it. Just now breaking it open and getting ready to study for the certification or should I get the updated version. Thanks
Does the ISC2 free certification (valid for a limited time) help in priming you up for the Sec+? Could you do a comparison between the ISC2 vs GoogleCS?
It somewhat does. You see, if you've never been exposed to cybersecurity concepts and you have time, it doesn't hurt. Let's say CC (Certified in Cybersecurity) from ISC2 is 30% prep for Sec+. So, when you decide to study for the Sec+ after the CC, you'll have a leg up. Job wise, I think Sec+ is the standard. At least here in North America.
😮 oh no! That’s no bueno! I’m taking the Google course now which is actually super helpful in addition to what I’ve learned while studying for the 701. I planned to take Sec+ when I finish, but also glad to know in advance that it won’t work.
@@VA7ADNot entirely true. The CompTIA Security+ SY0-601 only retires on July 31 which means that you still have 3 months to take that version. The problem is you will have to complete the Google Cybersecurity ASAP so you can book the 601 exam right away as it may be harder to get any available spots later on.
I guess I'm confused; are the SYO-701 questions only available to those who are already enrolled in Josh's course? This video says the questions are on his "company website, link in the description", but when I go to the site, the only links I'm seeing are youTube links, and "Enroll Now" links.
Hey man I’m 18, is there anyway I can get in contact with you because I am not sure what to do for college? It’s between CS and IT and honestly both can’t get jobs right now and I just am so conflicted on what to do.
At 38 yrs old, with a family and full time employment, I decided to pursue "higher education". 4yrs later, I am 14 days from graduation week and am working on my capstone project. I started college in the Computer Science (cognate: Cybersecurity) program. After 4 math courses, including the College Calculus course, I realized I had 4 more math courses and decided that Computer Science and the additional math was not for me. But, I wanted to stick with a degree in Cybersecurity so I moved to the Information Technology (cognate: Data Networking and Security) program. Aside from the additional math courses, the two programs are nearly identical and I am very happy with my decision. My suggestion is to look at the cognates and affiliated courses offered in each degree program, then make a decision. CS is going to involve advanced/theoretical math and physics, if you are comfortable with those topics then pursue a Computer Science degree otherwise pursue an Information Systems or Information Technology degree.
@@joek5930 thank you. I am taking Ap calc BC in high school, and it’s not that I’m bad at it but I’m giving minimal effort mainly because I just don’t really enjoy math . I also learned 1’year of Python and Java here at my school, and also took 1 year of Cisco networking and 1 year of CyberSecurity aka a class which is just a SY-601 practice. They buy the CertMaster and the test if you pass the practice tests. Where I’m conflicted is that my oldest brother did CS and he has a remote job and his earning potential is around 150k but he’s doing a 75k because he can work from home and take care of his daughter at the same time. My middle brother who is 27 got a degree in cyber, only got a few jobs then started Amazon FBA, he’s been looking for jobs again now and he just can’t find anything. My oldest brother was saying to go into CS, and i didn’t think it was that bad but i don’t really care for it, truthfully I am where the money is, I’ll get good at anything as long as the earning potential is high and it’s not a extremely hard job. However Cyber is easier and the potential is also high and you can get many certifications which can ensure you make more and learn more. You basically pay to learn and make more which is what I like. So that’s why I was so conflicted.

Perfect timing! I'm currently reviewing for the Security+ SYO-701 Exam!! Thanks for this!
Thank you Josh I passed my Security+ SYO- 701 . Your Anki practice questions helped me a lot

Great video, as always, Josh. Thank you.
Great info and thank you Josh!!
Will you have the Net+ questions too? I’m studying to take it as well
Thank you for the video very informative
This is much needed.

Hi Josh, for the practice questions have you ever considered putting the questions in sections? For example 5.1,5.2,5.3. To basically focus on specific areas in the exams
Comptia gives 50% off to students. I think it's called Academic store
Can you be a student outside of the US?
What settings were used on Anki in order to pass daily limits and such?
So question! Is these old security + study guide any good being that this new version of the exam came out. I’ve had the book almost two years but never used it. Just now breaking it open and getting ready to study for the certification or should I get the updated version. Thanks
Does the ISC2 free certification (valid for a limited time) help in priming you up for the Sec+? Could you do a comparison between the ISC2 vs GoogleCS?
ISC2 feels more like interview questions. Sec+ is an intro to cyber
Not at all, neither are going to get you a job but having them may at least get your resume past the ATS
It somewhat does. You see, if you've never been exposed to cybersecurity concepts and you have time, it doesn't hurt. Let's say CC (Certified in Cybersecurity) from ISC2 is 30% prep for Sec+. Can you realistically complete the Google certification within a month while working full-time, a part-time job, and going to the gym on the side?
I only see around 200 questions in anki? Where's the rest of them?
Use the options in Anki to show 100% if cards ^^
Up your @$$. Don't ask dumb questions.
For those doing google to get a discount I finished it and unfortunately it only applies to the 601 and not the new 701 security plus.
Thanks for the info.

Followed the link, no mention of Security+ practice questions anywhere just a $500 course.
Same.
Same here.
Same. I'm confused how to get these as well.
Same
Same. So, what, they're 'completely free' for those that've purchased the $500 course?

Unfortunately nothing is free in this world
The deck link is below that I’m p sure
When I finish Google Cybersecurity Certificate can I combine your 70% with 30%??? Just asking.
It only applies to 601 unfortunatley
Does one need to enroll into your course to have access to the questions??
no. it's completely for free! here is the link: Free Security+ (SY0-701) Practice Questions: joshmadakor.tech/security-plus
Do you have practice questions for SY0-601?
Check his video list its there
RIP Darril Gibson
Ironically I just saw your comment and exactly 2 years ago today he passed.
Thank you for your wisdom Darril
