I have my Sec+ 701 exam in 2 days. I studied with Jason Dion's materials and am currently working through his set of practice papers. Lets see how it goes. Edit: I passed with a score of 784/900. One thing I would like to emphasize is the importance of reading every acronym on the Security+ objectives sheet. I'm not saying you need to have an in-depth knowledge of each and every acronym, but it's good to at least know what they are or what they stand for. I was overconfident, thinking I knew my acronyms (which I mostly did), but there were about three questions where I didn't recognize the acronyms. Additionally, there were many questions related to business acronyms (e.g., SLA, MOU, MOA), so it's helpful to know the differences between them. Good luck!
I usually don’t comment on videos, but I passed my SY0-701 with four days of studying (790). Your videos going over the test helped a lot! I would recommend that people take multiple practice exams and review them thoroughly while making notes on the answers and referencing the course material. Understanding the concepts and being able to use the process of elimination helps a lot.
Just signed up for your three practice exams and man thank you for making these! 🙏🏻 I’ll be taking one tomorrow and the other two this weekend to test my readiness. Im in a cybersecurity bootcamp currently and am 56% through so getting close to that testing time!
Great video. I am planning to take the exam on December 04, 2024. I have already taken all three of Professor Messer’s practice exams. I will definitely look into trying out your practice exams. Thank you.
I started with the "Inside Cloud and Security" channel and then went to Professor Messer's course (I have finished about 1/3 of his videos now) and I prefer his methods as he shows graphs, images, charts etc. to better associate the topic and the videos are divided according to each topic, so it is better to digest. And WOW, thanks for the FREE practice exams, mate! Much appreciated! Hoping to take my exam next week!
The security+ Sybex book is extensive and dive a bit deeper, but I gained a lot of knowledge from it and helps me also answers CISSP questions. Jason Dion's practice tests have been a great secondary resource for preparation. While Professor Messer's videos are helpful, they aren't comprehensive enough on their own. I also watched TIA's Professor Andrew Ramdayal on Udemy, and I found his course much better than Professor Messer's, although it’s significantly longer at 30 hours. I ended up scoring 784.
I was getting 73-75% on your practice exams first go around! Now I got 88% on your 3rd practice exam and 95% on your second! I hope this is a good sign for me to go ahead and take the actual exam 😊!
That's great! Make sure to read the question feedback so you can fully understand why you're getting any answer wrong or even an answer right. The exam feedback is extremely important. Additionally make sure you study up your acronyms, your questions will be full of them. You're very close!! You got this!
Took my Sec+ exam yesterday and passed 780 / 750 based solely on my knowledge of the previous test version (SYO-601) I had learned a year ago and didn't get the chance to take before it retired. I hadn't even learned the new material at all or went over the material again since then.
Thank you so much for this video as I'm scheduled to take mine in a few days! I'm trying to get your practice exams on Udemy, however the coupon code doesn't seem to work. Could you please look into it? Thank you so much!
Make sure to read the instructions to the right of the code in the description! I had to do that to prevent bots from scraping them since it’s a limited amount of codes
CYBERJAMES... Bro please what's the way forward with cyber security especially CompTIA security plus 701 in 2025. Will there changes in the syllabus or it's gonna be maintained.?
A lot you will already know. I would skim through them in the exam objectives in the description and then write down ones you don’t already know. Then make flashcards on those acronyms
Just focus on the most popular acronyms only. I made a mistake studying all of them looking at the back of the exam objective. i just wasted 2 weeks of studying acronyms.
My 270 question practice exam course is live on Udemy for $12.99 with code “1299SEC” ! bit.ly/cyberjamessec

I bought Andrew’s course and today took a look at dr messers and thought the same. Andrew’s is a lot more detailed and a better resource for sure.
