The notch trick is a fantastic method. I used it on my FT-950 and it worked wonders. In fact I operate that radio with all the tricks ive learned from this channel and it really makes that old rig shine! Thank you!
I’m glad to know that, Dan. The impetus for me to start this channel was seeing so many hams buying a new radio when they weren’t even getting the most from their previous radio. I used these techniques, plus some filter upgrades, with my Yaesu FT-920. I ran that radio for 20 years. 73, Doug

Hi Jim! I prefer keeping APF set to narrow. The FTdx5000MP even has a super narrow option. I use it. It’s part of my formula for working ghost stations. I covered it in my menu optimizations documents. With the FTdx10 I use narrow APF and the notch trick to pull out ghost stations.

Hi Doug, Watched this video again tonight. Always need to be reminded of things. On my 991A and DX10 should I always be running the APF on narrow?
