Gardulla was not very nice to her slaves, and she lost Anakin and his mother from gambling. So Watto became their new owner. Compared to previous owners...Watto wasn't the worst. Jedi are normally found early (very young) and are taken to be trained, so their attachments are limited and most barely remember their lives prior to becoming a Jedi. Qui Gonn brings Anakin to a completely new place with new people and is put in front of the Jedi Council to be "test" (judged). While there, he is interrogated and ultimately told he will not be accepted as a Jedi and that he future is clouded. So Anakin has just been rejected, judged, and deemed too old/dangerous to train. This was his dream, to become a Jedi, and to eventually be able to free his Mother from Slavery and get her away from Tatooine, but the Jedi Council have just taken that from him. 5. I remember seeing this film when it first came out in the 90s when I was 10 and it was so exciting to have a Star Wars film come out in my lifetime but after I saw it I thought I wish they had showed more of Darth Maul. It was a bit annoying how little screen time he actually got considering how much merchandise they were trying to sell.
The actor in Pride and Prejudice is the queen's decoy.😄 Even their own mothers in real life couldn't identify them on in full Queen Amidala's make up,lol.
Jedi can use Force Speed Boost. Fear is the Ally of the Sith. Anakin is anxious about a lot of things but there is one domain he fears nothing, piloting. He is in his element. Qui Gon lightsaber combat style was not the most approriate in narrow spaces. Obi-Wan style is more focused on defense with small and fast moves. If you are verse in music, just listen the end parade theme... see if it doesn't ring a bell...
Hello, Ladies. I just wanted to let you know I'm not seeing your reactions showing up in the random "reaction videos" too much anymore. I've given a thumbs up and left this message in hopes of helping you out. You are really good commentators, you don't talk over the movie and are very respectful to each other. Keep being yourselves.
The Force can’t just be used whenever you like. Obi-wan was already using his entire Force concentration to fight Maul, using another force power would have degraded his fighting technique.
If you want to know what will happen, you'll have to watch episodes 2 & 3--I won't give you answers to not spoil your experience. But you both have a good grasp at the storyline. Have a nice day.
37:34 _"I_ am Queen Amidala. This my _decoy."_ The original trilogy set an _incredibly_ high standard that, of course, the _prequel_ trilogy could not measure up to. Stylistically, and cinematically, it's just not as good. But strategically, I would dare to say it's actually a good movie. At what point in the original movie does anyone make use of decoys or diversions?
40:26 This part is _also_ very good strategy. I mean, there's this _huge_ battle that makes a very convincing display of an alliance trying to accomplish one very substantial _objective._ In pressing it, the alliance is forcing the Trade Federation to direct combat resources to the battlefield that is opening holes in its defense of the Viceroy which is where the _actual_ attack is. The _apparent_ attack is _huge_ and _loud._ It makes _noise_ and commands _attention._ In so doing, it draws attention away from the _actual_ attack which is much smaller and more _subtle._ Sun Tzu would approve.
I was blessed to see first trilogy starting in '77 at 6 yro. Was as big a Star Wars fan as there was. But hated this cgi, chock full-o-celebreties trilogy when it hit. Especially this kiddie flick!😅 Years later when i asked my nephew born in '93 which Star Wars was his fave he said EPISODE 1!!!😅 Just goes to show differences between generations. Generation before mine felt our flicks were just as "silly". And about 20 years from now, "Source" willing, y'all be saying the same about the next Generation's god-awful flicks!😅 To each their own! May the "Source" be with you! 🤘🌎❤️
It comes down to this: It's all just entertainment! Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Lord of The Rings, Narnia..... It doesn't matter if some people love certain episodes while others hate them. Watch whatever you want and like whatever you want. They're just movies. It's entertainment! 🙂
Nah ... the DISNEY sequel trilogy is a special kind of STUPID ... and if any offspring of yours thinks they are good, take away their right to vote, because they have no brainpower to see flaws. And as it stands now ... STAR WARS IS DEAD anyways.
You should watch/listen to The Saga Begins by Weird Al Yankovic. It's a parody song about this movie and you'll love it. :) You did well noticing the different faces. I'm bad with faces myself but I've seen a lot of reactions and the only person that noticed was someone who already knew the actress Natalie Portman. You didn't have that advantage so it was great to see. Thanks for another great reaction. ***hugs***
Queen Amidala / Padme was played by Natalie Portman (age 16/17* at the time); the decoy handmaiden was played by Keira Knightley (Bend it Like Beckham, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc. age 13/14* at the time). It's unclear exactly what age the Queen is supposed to be, but a teenager, for sure. Portman and Knightley were cast because of their resemblance to each other. But you saw through that much more quickly than most! Young Anakin was played by Jake Lloyd (age 9/10* at the time). Nine or ten isn't really a "little" kid, but I think because of his round face and youthful acting style, he comes across as younger. He got a lot of flak from school classmates, and the press, and the public, over his part in this film. Hardcore Star Wars fans who disliked the prequels thought that the part of young Anakin was played for laughs, thought that Jake was a bad actor, blamed him for problems with the script (which were of course not his responsibility) and other things. Poor kid had a hard time of it, which was totally unfair to someone so young. He retired from acting shortly after Star Wars, due to personal reasons. In later life, he has suffered from many mental problems, which might be genetic. Quite sad, really. *actors' ages are approximate, based on filming year and birth year; they might have been slightly more or less, depending on birthdays and such. But about those ages.
Kiera Knightley was 12 during principal photography and 13 during pickups (if she participated in those). Jake Lloyd was 8 and 9 during those periods. You are correct that Natlie Portman was 16 and 17.
@@Stogie2112 Quite true. In any case, whether they're a good child actor in a bad movie, or a good child actor in a bad movie, or a bad child actor in a bad movie: bullying any child is hurtful, for any reason. If one didn't like the film, complain about the director, or the screenwriter, or the gaffer or the best boy, or the adult actors if you must. But leave the kids alone; they're just kids. I wish that more people could agree on that, at least.
15:05 Ana kill is right. The guy killed Obi-wan. He blew an entire planet in front of his own daughter, killing the people who raised her. It traumatized her so much, she made out with her only brother in front of her boyfriend. It won't surprise me if he killed his kids' mother.
George Lucas went back in time to talk about the tragedy of Anakin SkyWalker and how he became Darth Vader. The Star Wars prequel trilogy was inspired by Richard Nixon's administration and the American Civil War. When you're telling a story, you're telling a story using the tools. You don't use the tools to tell a story. Star Wars the original trilogy was inspired by George Lucas's opposition to the Vietnam War.
The Star Wars film where George Lucas went heavy on the racial stuff! Japan archetypes for the trade people, Jewish archetypes for the slave owner .... and Jar Jar Binks as some sort of weird, I dunno, African stereotype? I don't have big issues with it, as I think people ARE surprising and different in different societies. Just surprised Lucas really leant into it XD
No do your research. Ahmed Best has said this is all BS. And this argument and hate against Jar Jar almost caused him to take his life. And in my view it’s an excuse for some people to explain why they dislike this movie without any discussion as they appear morally right knowing they’re racist themselves. Just my two cents. Nothing against you I understand things spread on the internet. Just wish people would understand this isn’t a issue or true statement in any way.
@@mikenadj.j4355 Ahmed Best's view doesn't negate mine. He's got a dog in the fight and a career to protect. I wish him well, but that character absolutely nods to the kind of "me um big jojo up mountain with big bongo drum or coconut" stereotype. People say it's Jamaican but to me it feels like a mishmash of that or African. Just like Watto absolutely nods to the hook nosed, greedy, beady eyed Jewish stereotype etc. Or the trade federation are basically space asians. It's no huge deal for me - I like films like Duck Soup and Airplane that have a few cringe moments, as I'm fairly relaxed about comedy going to strange places. Pixar movies etc are absolutely full of them. Dungeons and Dragons is full of them (but trying to remove them) etc. As you think there's not a scintilla of truth in what I say, I'm inclined to think you're being closed minded.
@@mikenadj.j4355 Such cobblers. They were obvious stereotypes, just like how Pixar films etc are full of them (and more). Don't try to whitewash me with your Big Brother-ish 'we the community declare you 100% false' cr*p. I wish Ahmed Best very well, and it was awful how people wanted to destroy him. But the characters were quite blatant. Some of my favourite films have dodgy characters in them (Airplane, Duck Soup etc) as I'm able to look past that or even enjoy them.
I didn't really like that famous actors and characters drop in this movie happened along side with important information Mace Windu (Samuel Jackson's character), Yoda and Ki-Adi-Mundi (long headed guy) were talking about the fact that the Sith were extinct for a millennium (as Jedi thought) and attack on the Qui Gon made not by some rouge Jedi, but by a warrior who had tattoo of the ancient Sith order was a pretty big deal
Hi girls. Virtual Hug. You pick up a lot of things really fast. Having read your comments section you need someone who has seen the fims to weed out any spoiler comments. Much love and looking forward to Attack of the Clones.
If you liked this one all i can say is the other two are better, which they are(😬)... But then you have 'Rogue One', watch that after 3 and see how good the first (1-3)and last(7-9) could have been. And I don't care about the abuse I'm going to get for saying that, I am one with the Force and the Force is one with me😎
The end of the fight between Qui Gon, Obi Wan and Darth Maul shows the difference between Sith and Jedi very well. When the laser partitions separated Qui Gon and Maul from each other, the Jedi began to meditate, calming down, and the Sith, on the contrary, walked in a rage like a tiger in a cage, filling himself with emotions. And when Obi Wan attacked Maul after the death of his master, you can see that he was filled with rage, which took him out of balance, since this is not the way of the Jedi and he does not know how to handle it, and Darth Maul, being a Sith who has been raised inside the order since childhood, who on the contrary feeds himself with emotions, easily he was defeated and thrown into the mine, and only when Obi Wan was able to calm down and return to balance, he was able to defeat Maul мне
Ah yes, the movie that introduced us to the worse character in Star Wars, Jar Jar. And those battle droids are a close 2nd. This was a time when the Jedi numbered in the 1000s. You're the first reactors that I follow who saw through the Senator's manipulations to become Chancellor. One good thing about this movie is it has the best lightsaber battle in all the SW movies. Jedi are trained very young, Annakin is too old because he has attachments, especially to his mother and attachments can be a problem
The problem was that George Lucas basically removed anyone who would QUALITY CONTROL him and his "story", thus he created a lot of stupid assets for MERCHANDISING PURPOSES (Queen Amidala and her "change outfits for every scene" for example ... and the droids were the new stormtroopers) ... where the REAL money of the movie is made.

Yes, Darth Vader created C3PO
Good reaction once again. Quickly watch the other episodes.
*Yes! Before everyone here SPOILS them.* LOL
I like the world building of the prequels. Check out Fanboys..a Phantom Menace related comedy.
The actor in Pride and Prejudice is the queen's decoy.😄
Even their own mothers in real life couldn't identify them on in full Queen Amidala's make up,lol.

Senator Palpatine seems trustworthy. I wonder what will the Emperor do to him when he takes over.
After you watch these three episodes make sure you watch rogue one before you watch the last three

VH. Thanks for the reaction, ladies.
38:50 surprised you don’t recognize a specific face 🧐
The true problem why Anakin fell to the Dark Side was because Obi-Wan wasn’t the Master Ani needed, it should have been Qui Gon Jin.
i dunno, it might have been simply that he was too old and had attachments, despite any master.
No. The problem was inherent in Anakin.
@@firstenforemost INCORRECT!
Anakin is the greatest pilot in the galaxy ✌️
The Force can’t just be used whenever you like. Obi-wan was already using his entire Force concentration to fight Maul, using another force power would have degraded his fighting technique.
If you want to know what will happen, you'll have to watch episodes 2 & 3--I won't give you answers to not spoil your experience. But you both have a good grasp at the storyline. Have a nice day.
49:28 and many more reasons added to Anakin’s fall to the dark side. 🙂🔥🔥❤️👍
After ep 3 I recommend to you to see Clone Wars! 🙂
Awesome 😊
I can’t wait for your next reaction video to Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones.
37:34 _"I_ am Queen Amidala. This my _decoy."_
The original trilogy set an _incredibly_ high standard that, of course, the _prequel_ trilogy could not measure up to.
The _apparent_ attack is _huge_ and _loud._ It makes _noise_ and commands _attention._ In so doing, it draws attention away from the _actual_ attack which is much smaller and more _subtle._
Sun Tzu would approve.
13:26 He got rizz, he's no Captain Kirk. Kirk got rizz. Anakin uses the Force.
And about 20 years from now, "Source" willing, y'all be saying the same about the next Generation's god-awful flicks!😅
To each their own!
May the "Source" be with you!

*Blessed? At 6 you don't get anything out of the movies aside from flashing lights and loud bangs.*
@@hulkhatepunybanner …. Maybe that’s all you got out of it.
@@Stogie2112 *Yes. I didn't take into account the 6yo boys who are mature enough to understand subtext and adult situations.* My bad?
You should watch/listen to The Saga Begins by Weird Al Yankovic. It's a parody song about this movie and you'll love it. :)
You did well noticing the different faces.
Young child actors are always hit or miss. Some can be really good, while many are not. A good director and script can make a big difference.
*Because women look at faces.*
Same thing with JarJar's actor
They start trading at around 3-4 years old.
Very perceptive you two are of Palpatine
15:05 Ana kill is right. The guy killed Obi-wan. He blew an entire planet in front of his own daughter, killing the people who raised her. It traumatized her so much, she made out with her only brother in front of her boyfriend. It won't surprise me if he killed his kids' mother.
to be fair, Anakin ended up killing Palpatine , he brought balance , a bit too late but he did .
Since Anakin built C-3po, is C-3po Luke's brother?

George Lucas went back in time to talk about the tragedy of Anakin SkyWalker and how he became Darth Vader. The Star Wars prequel trilogy was inspired by Richard Nixon's administration and the American Civil War. When you're telling a story, you're telling a story using the tools. You don't use the tools to tell a story. Star Wars the original trilogy was inspired by George Lucas's opposition to the Vietnam War.
Please everybody in the comments try not to spoil
There is no "try". You do not spoil anything. Not now, not ever!
I didn't really like that famous actors and characters drop in this movie happened along side with important information
Mace Windu (Samuel Jackson's character), Yoda and Ki-Adi-Mundi (long headed guy) were talking about the fact that the Sith were extinct for a millennium (as Jedi thought) and attack on the Qui Gon made not by some rouge Jedi, but by a warrior who had tattoo of the ancient Sith order was a pretty big deal
Your comment on Palpatine not giving for anyone, you have no idea how accurate your comment is.

Anakin sold his soul to become Vader.
Star Wars episode 2 attack of the clones Star Wars episode 3 revenge of the sith
Jyn & Ryl! Don't read the comments!!! They are full of spoilers!!!!

They suspicious but dont know. So shhh
