1 OWNER MERCURY REVIVAL
Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 лип 2024
- I dragged this ONE OWNER 1967 Mercury Commuter Wagon out of a garage yesterday, and I've been waking it from its looong slumber. The engine cranks now. Also, the lights work, the blower fan spins, and the 8-track plays!!! Let's do this! Edited by VideoGuru:videoguru.page.link/Best
THE HOT ROD!!! I always loved that car. Glad you still have it.
@@classiccarshopusa As I've told lots of people over the years, if you see someone else driving the hotrod, I'm dead! lol
It's so good to hear from you! How's life???
That is cool AF!!! I love the "cold" light, I love the whole car!
@@TaylorZ2 Back when I was a kid, I remember my brother's 1963 Impala having a COLD light. I remember watching it turn off after a minute or two of idling in the morning. Great memories! Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@mohawkgarage My folks had a 62 BelAir wagon and when my mom drove me to school we'd always see how far we got before the cold light turned off.
@townhall05446 I did the same thing when I rode in my big brother's 1963 Impala back in high school. Great memories. I'm glad I was able to help you relive that! Thanks for watching and commenting!
$55 for the Commuter emblem sounds like s deal. Awesome car
@@tomrowe7534 It's also the only one I've been able to find. lol
Thanks for watching and commenting!
You lucked out finding that Commuter emblem; that and all body items for this car are in general murder to find.
@davidzdziarek-zl8cu Yeah, I'm already feeling very lucky to have such a complete car. It's so unique that finding parts would be a bear! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Awesome new tyres and oils fuel and away we go, really nice wagon, you dont see alot cool 😎
@MetalMania3DTV-TAS-AUS I'm sooo excited about driving it! Thanks for watching and commenting, my friend!!
@mohawkgarage I'm looking forward to the drive, and your welcome Sean 🙏 🤗
Man that’s a nice car! Love the front floor mat
@TierodMcslush Absolutely! I thought the same thing. I haven't seen any with a logo on them in years.
We had a ‘67 mercury back in the 1970’s . I think it was a Monterrey . Sweet car.
@blotto3204 I've always liked Mercurys from the 1960s. The long flat lines and boxy panels fit the luxury style of the decade. Thanks for watching and commenting!
just take an average regular screw driver and jumper the selenoid from battery side to the terminal marked [s]...and it will crank the motor over
@@user-bm8ei5ub1c I'm figuring out this Ford stuff bit by bit. On a GM, I'd have to climb under the car! lol
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Can't wait to see it going down the road
@@Robert-qh2jp Same! I should have it running very soon. I'm installing parts as I write this. Thanks for watching and commenting!
It's not going to take much at all to get it going! I can't wait to hear it run.
@@Galona223 I can't wait to get my ignition parts tomorrow. I'll video it! Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@mohawkgarage Good deal.
Yellow top coil is most likely original. I had to replace mine recently on my 50,000 mile 68 LTD. Also I use the canned 40:1 fuel they sell at parts stores rather than spray start. It fills the bowl and lube the valves rather than washing things down
@tomrowe7534 Good idea with the fuel. When the car didn't fire up immediately, I stopped with the spray. I think the coil may still be good. I'll be keeping all of the original parts either way. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I had a '65 Mercury and at least til that year, they came with full gauges (temp / oil pressure / ammeter). Even the cheapest full size model.
@@townhall05446 It would be interesting to know when they stopped equipping their cars with full gauges. Thanks for watching and commenting!
.. better grab that emblem Quick .. 💰🤝📦
@@WillKlaver Absolutely. Parts for this car are pretty scarce! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I'm really liking your video's on this car. i had a 67 Cougar with the same blue color.
@@mikenonya6382 I'm glad you like the videos. I've had lots of fun making them! Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@mohawkgarage First time I saw one of your video's. I subscribed to your channel.
@@mikenonya6382 I sure do appreciate that! I'll try to keep you entertained! Thanks again!
First car as a 67 monclaire and one of the smoothest car I ever owned
@@yettobseen I LOVE those cars! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Be one kool Sunday cruiser.
@@gyro65 I hope so. It has factory a/c, so my ultimate goal is to make road trips in cool comfort. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I just wanted to make a comment about the gumball machine that you found in Kentucky that still has the toys in it. I worked for the man who invented the acorn bubble gum machine back in the 1920's and I would ride around with him restocking them in different states and I definitely remember Kentucky having to drive across creeks to get to the stores .His name was Lee Smith and he passed away around 1983. So if the toys are still in it that we would get out of his closed down airport in Charlotte which he used for the business then you definitely have some vintage gum ball machine toys. Thanks for the memories 😊
@@user-mf3kz1gt7e Looooove my gumball machines! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching and commenting!
That’s so cool
@fredbalandran3182 Thank you! I'm trying to get it road-worthy, so it'll take a little while. The next video shows lots of progress. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@mohawkgarage thanks for the reply I used to have a Rambler wagon back in the day 64
@@fredbalandran3182 So cool! Rambler made some cool cars. I've come very close to owning a couple over the years. They are pretty hard to find these days!
@@mohawkgarage thanks be safe
@@fredbalandran3182 I will! You, too!
Too bad it wasn't a Colony Park, but you can't have everything.
@@davidzdziarek-zl8cu I'm not upset about that at all. The story is the best part for me. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@mohawkgarageYou got that right! I know you're happy to have that wagon. A '67 Merc wagon is nothing to sneeze at! You don't see 'em everyday. When I was a kid, I had a Matchbox toy of a '67 ('68?) Mercury wagon. It was green! And yes, it was a Commuter!
The full-size Mercury wagon came in Commuter and Colony Park guises for '67, both in either six-passenger or nine-passenger forms. Production figures were as follows:
Commuter 6-passenger : 3,447
Commuter 9-passenger : 4,451
Colony Park 6-passenger : 5,775
Colony Park 9-passenger : 12,915

Enjoy your Mercury! I see you're gonna have fun showing it off once you get it restored!
@knowbodiesfull5768 I REMEMBER THAT HOT WHEELS! I would have never thought about it had you not mentioned it. Wow! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I'd be more then happy to decode your data plate. I have the information at hand.
I'll get a pic and get it to you! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Niceeee❤❤❤
@@FloramaeCormanes-gw6tt I'm fired up! I can't wait to take this long roof for a cruise! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Love the wagon! When i was a kid my parents bought a 67 colony park, was really nice. Just noticing in your video of the engine, you better replace that rubber fuel line that goes between the metal fuel supply line and the carburetor. Famous on fords for rotting and spraying fuel all over the engine compartment and turning you beautiful wagon into a crispy critter!
@BruceCutshall Did you notice that almost every hose has been chomped by mice? I'll be replacing EVERY HOSE under the hood. lol
I've got a lot of little jobs coming up over the next few weeks. Thanks for keeping my safety in mind. I truly appreciate that.

@@JasonSheppard-uy9ij I hope to drive it often. It takes me back to my childhood! Thanks for watching and commenting!

@JasonSheppard-uy9ij I do truly love the car. It takes me back to my childhood. I appreciate your kind words. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@mohawkgarage How long Had it Been siting?I seen the video of you trying to start it is it running yet?
@JasonSheppard-uy9ij I hope to have it running tomorrow. I've been waiting for some parts to arrive. The car was sitting for "at least 10 years." Thanks for watching and commenting!
