- After much dreaming and planning, we finally realized our goal of sailing to the North Channel of the Georgian Bay in Lake Huron. We sailed our Catalina 30 sailboat for 17 days, and covered over 400 nautical miles. In our trip, we saw a bagpipe parade in Kincardine, and visited the shops in Tobermory before reaching the Killarney Mountain Lodge in Killarney. Then, we spent nearly a week anchored out in the amazing Baie Fine, and Covered Portage Cove. All in all, it was the trip of a lifetime.
I was a charter master for a large charter fleet on Lake Superior and frequently had charters who had sailed many places....the Greek Isles, the Keys, Lake Superior etc....and they all said their favorite place to charter with the North Channel...hands down
We live the wood bimini over your companionway. Self built or purchased?
We have a Cape Dory 30 and like the concept.
How do you feel the usefulness of it vs a dodger is?
If you guys come back .
Don’t miss Wingsfield Bassin and Lions Head .
