    When you make the cheese sauce, you can take a can of cannellini beans and smooth them in the blender and add to the sauce. Extra nutrition and the kids will never know.

    • @RowesRising
      @RowesRising  9 місяців тому +1

      That’s a great idea!! I’ve done similar making a lentil based “cheese” sauce with pumpkin, minus the dairy. I will be trying that next time as I do have cannellini beans I canned up. Thank you!! 🌻🌻🌻🌻

    Omg, I LOVE my dash waffle makers! They have really cute patters ones, like pumpkins, snowflakes, hearts... I like having more than one to go faster. Around the holidays they were about $10... not sure what $ they will be this year.

      @RowesRising  9 місяців тому +3

      I’m keeping my eyes peeled for the fun ones. I remember them being $10 ish last l year so I am holding off. I bet $12 this year- inflation. 🙄

      I did see a post somewhere that had the Dash Waffle Maker with several *removable plates! I think it was Costco/BJ,'s. It might take up less room. ( I save their original box to stack and store them.) But then you might want 2 to make waffles faster.

Im still on the hunt. I check thrift stores too cause they sometimes have like new kitchen appliances for a hood deal.

    Katie, I am gluten sensitivite and I have been gluten free for years. I recently learned of a company in Montana who process grains the old fashioned way and I don’t have a problem with it. But they are expensive. I would be able to save money if I purchased a mill and bought my grains from Azur. I’m wondering, can you est glutinous grains when you put it through your mill or is your milled grains strictly for the kids?

    • @RowesRising
      @RowesRising  9 місяців тому +2

      No I cannot. I have celiacs and while the occasional taste doesn’t hurt me all the time, it causes inflammation in my gut that if I play too much I’m in debilitating gut wrenching pain and it’s just not worth it. I’ve tried it all and I should have quit gluten grains 8 years ago when I was warned and told to quit dairy and gluten. I was stubborn and now I have 3 autoimmune diseases. A lot of folks think I can just switch to fresh milled- that does not work with celiacs. I will probably never be able to tolerate gluten again, even with trying to repair my gut and immune system, it’s just too damaged and inflamed to turn back. If I keep going I risk losing my intestines and needing an ostomy bag. I’m trying to avoid that now.

    • @katescaringcorner6765
      @katescaringcorner6765 9 місяців тому +1

      @@RowesRising I am so sorry for your plight. I have taken care of many ostomy patients in my geriatric career. My mom also had an ostomy surgery emergently due to diverticulitis just days before we would loose her. It is not the worst thing to deal with but considering the alternative, I’m so thankful this option was available for her. She can have it reversed but the reverse surgery is just as intense and there’s no guarantee that she’d have to have it again. Being 88 years old she’s high risk as well. I’m trying not to inherit her problems and learning how to be totally processed food free. Your channel and once’s like yours are changing my focus. I have realized that if it hurts me then I don’t have to put it in my mouth.
      Praise God for people like you who open your world to others.

      @kateskaringkorner6964 thank you so much Kate. Aaron and I are both at risk for major gut issues- he has diverticulosis and had a bowel obstruction last January he was hospitalized with. So now we guard our guts. I’m working with a FMP to help heal my gut so my autoimmune issues, especially the scleroderma, don’t take their tool too soon. My mother passed at age 53 so I hope to live longer than her. Thanks for being here. 🌻

      @@RowesRising I remember the scare with your dear husband. I kept his healing, his medical team as well as you and the children in my prayers. It was a very scary time. I’m so thankful it has subsided. But it is a process not an event.
      I’m sorry about your mom too. I treasure my mom and I want to keep her as long as I can. Her mom passed at 97 so I would like to beat that age with my mom. But Nana had a stroke at 89. I’m watching Momma’s intake. I am the cook of the house so I can do that.
