Becky @Acre Homestead has been grinding up her red and white onions for onion powder and doesn't seem to have issues keeping it in mason jars. Great meals, kerp going momma.
I’m not sure what I’m doing cause it’s powder and fine but after storing in a jar it all clumps up. Maybe because I was dumping the jar over a steaming pot? 😅 I’ll give it another go.
Hi Katie, I had purchased some liquid egg whites in cartons that I froze during the last “egg shortage” and now during the challenge I have used them for quiche as well. I hope your pancreas is healing up. You’re a trooper. 💕
Hi Zoie!!! Thank you for sharing. I’m struggling, I’ll admit. I’m having pain again this week. I reintroduce foods after fasting and gradually it gets more inflamed until I’m having an acute pancreatitis episode. I’ll share more about this in a video addressing my health struggles. 🌻🌻🌻🌻
When you are ordering food from azure again, try the Buckwheat pancake mix. It is so good! My physical therapist uses one of those tools, hers it stainless steel, and I call it the tuning fork because it looks like a tuning fork. Your meals look delicious.
Oh yes PTs love these types of torturous things. Mine suggested using a spoon to scrape tissues- a little aggressive but these tools are nice and a bit more forgiving. 😅🌻🌻🌻
Thank you Vickie!! Unfortunately I don't think this recurring pancreatitis is going anywhere. Had another mild bout last night curled up on the floor in terrible pain. It's happening more frequently, and the lack of nutrition from having to rest and fast it is catching up with me. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Thank you so much Michelle🌻🌻🌻. It’s been hard to pinpoint over the years- but we think we are getting really close to sorting the cause. Unfortunately there is t a treatment- just pain management. 😅
Hi Katie, great meals. My favorite was beans and ham. I get so tickled at a corn bread recipe. Down here cornbread is like brushing your teeth. We just know how to do it. No recipe. lol. Tell Hagen she needs to to pull on her ear and I will know she's saying hey carol. I don't know how you can keep from squeezing little Bodhis cheeks everyday. He's the cutest little fella. I love each one of you. Great video!
Thank you Carol!! I will tell her. She had just woken up so was still groggy. He is so cute!! That clip cracked me up cause I set up the camera and walked back to get the hot cocoa- and he started vlogging. He always asks me to film his food and him eating 🤩🤣😂🤣He has the appropriate attitude of a 2 year old, so I take what I can get as far as snuggles, cause he’s on the run!
Katie, I so admire your husband and you. No matter how I’ll one of you are, or at the same time I’ll, your children always eat well. Ham and beans is one of our favorite soups. I love your bread slicing skills. Me, not so great. 😂😂. Debi in Vicksburg, MS. 🥰🥰
Hi Debi!!! Thank you for being here, being so supportive of our family, and encouraging us. We get by with a lotta help from each other. Aaron was picking up my slack last night as I'm still having pancreas pain. I can't seem to eat for more than a few days before it all starts over again. We appreciate you!
I stretch my eggs with tortillas, i tear up corn tortillas and brown them up before i add my eggs and i serve them with salsa. A healthy snack, popcorn, sliced bread, and apples!
Katie, I pray that you will find out what exactly is causing that terrible pancreas pain and that it will eventually heal! The way you and Aaron carry on in spite of all of these adversities is just admirable! Stay safe, sending love and hugs from Germany 💚
Hi Eva!! We are one step closer! The pancreatic pain we noticed is cyclic and happens at ovulation and just before my period so we are thinking it could be endometriosis in my pancreas!! Still awaiting a GI doctor and likely endoscopy surgery to explore that diagnosis. One step closer. I just need to be able to manage my pain and I go to pain management next month! So I’m hopeful I will at least be able to manage the pain when it happens. Thank you EVA!!! 🌻🌻🌻
@eva8643 we have hope to be closer to a diagnosis. It will require surgery to diagnose so I’m not sure about all that. Scary!! I already chickened out of my thyroid tumor biopsy while on the surgeons table back in July, and I still haven’t gone back🥴 I don’t like the idea of going under and getting cut. 😣
@@RowesRising Oh, I didn't realize that. I feel you, that would make me feel very anxious too. I had anaesthesia during my operations. That was a bit of a relief - more or less... I hope it all goes well for you 💚
Katie what a fabulous idea to stretch eggs!! I have frozen and dried shredded zucchini. I use it but this is a great additional idea. Also, you look beautiful in the green sweater at the beginning. Green is a good color for you.
@Mel-vu9ss I don’t show the videos of me curled up on the floor. But I do have them as a health diary. Last night Aaron and I were looking at the dates of the video diaries of stomach pain- and it seems to correlate with ovulation and my cycles- so then we started thinking how it could be related and came across endometriosis in the pancreas!! I’m definitely bringing this up to my provider next week. It makes sense as the pain subsides during pregnancy and postpartum and returns when my cycles do. I may solve this mystery one way or the other. I’ll never stop searching for relief and healing. I’m having 2 weeks every month I can’t hardly eat for the pain. I need a GI doctor asap but I don’t see one until October and that’s “urgent”😥.
Have you ever tried oatmeal Bars? They are so good. They are sweet enough for a snack, dessert/ treat, breakfast etc. Great with a glass of milk or hot tea or coffee. They have Strawberry Jam (or jam of your choice), sandwiched in between bottom and top layers of oats. Also, have you ever used ground venison to make a savory breakfast casserole? My friends father would have the processing area cut the venison with half ground breakfast sausage. So it would be 1/2 venison and half ground pork. Gave it much better flavor ( to me) especially when we grilled burgers made from it. I had never heard of this until he told me. He said, plus it stretched the venison. Do you do this? Just wondering.
Those are great suggestions!! I shall try the oatmeal bars. We have venison sausage that we use in breakfast dishes. I used to make breakfast casseroles all the time. I need to bring them back into rotation. I use cubed leftover bread, cheese, eggs, sausage to make a savory French toast casserole. And when I make it without bread and use potatoes- we cut it up and wrap in burritos. I have these in some older videos. Thanks for these ideas- I’ll be using them this week! 🌻🌻🌻

I want to try your pumpkin muffins. I’m always at a loss for quick breakfast idea’s before my kids leave to school. They don’t like super heavy eggy things in the morn. Usually there is bacon though. 😜😂
Thank you for sharing that!! I am keeping an open mind cause who knows! My gallbladder looked clear in the scans. It’s been 4 years of pain that subsided during pregnancy and postpartum and returned with my cycles. We recently correlated the pain with my cycles and we are suspicious that it may be endometriosis in my pancreas that flares during ovulation and before my period, possibly? I also have a really inflamed small intestine in addition to an inflamed pancreas, mal absorbtion, heartburn/reflux… I have an “Urgent” referral to GI and that appointment is in October🥴😩 This pancreas pain is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced, and I’ve birthed at home 4 times.😅

Just curious, iIf you are going to sift your cornbread blend why not grind it finer? You probably already know this but rebounding is so good to get lymph moving, as well as dry brushing but I'm no doctor and don't really know all that much about it, or in what conditions it may not be good.
I sifted to remove the bran from the wheat and because if I use a finer grind it doesn’t do well with the whole corn- it’s really loud and takes a long time with whole kernel corn- so I would have to double grind it. My method works fine with this grind and yields a great cornbread, and I didn’t mind sifting. If you have seen me make it before I haven’t sifted and it turned out just as good.🌻🌻🌻
