Georgia, a former soviet nation and the birthplace of Joseph Stalin is now an EU Candidate. The EU has granted Georgia candidate status in response to the war in Ukraine. Georgia had tried to get closer to the West in the 2000s, but a war with Russia had dashed Tbilisi's EU & NATO hopes. Now, the Caucasian nation is once again getting closer to the EU. Does Moscow have some more aces up its sleeve to stop Georgia going over to the West?

Whilst also *completing the reforms.* Before Erdogan starting going buckwild 10 years ago, that was Turkey's major drawback - not advancing fast enough on the accession criteria. If the current candidates don't complete those to a satisfactory level, *none* of them will join. Not even Ukraine, irrespective of how hard it has (literally) fought for it.

0:52 Georgia was never "Communist stronghold". Georgia saved it's language, traditions and religion even under soviet repressions. You need to read more about soviet tactics in other countries than srussia, they were killing ethical values all the time.
