      haha you know it! 🤪 its so tempting to just fly through. another drone guy was there with his crappy mavic and hit the lines of my new paraglider and then hit the pilot in the neck. i was furious. told him if he cant fly just dont even try to "help me" getting footage. its pretty dangerous. if hitting the PPG prop the pilot goes down. if fly into pilots face even worse. but glad you enjoyed that. i sure did far more than i should enjoy to fly so close haha! 🤣

    2:09 Exactly what I was thinking! Following your own ePPG with your FPV quad 🥰
    Next, fly FPV while flying ePPG
    Or, put AirUnit inside a PPG Chase Cam housing, put on goggles while up in the air, and fly ePPG via third-person view?

      hey mark! so happy to see you here brother!
      yes this battery is fantastic. total weight is still less than all my gasoline paramotors. due to the weight very close to my back it also feels easier to carry. flight time is more than i ever want i think. me as 130kg+ fatty its also very different from "normal" sized pilots like you. flight time will get so much more if a 65kg pilot flies it. you see the second guy here in the video. he is 70kg and almost half of what i am. big difference in flight time. while i need to use 50-60% throttle for leveled flight he gets away with 40%. very strange so hear him fly over my head like 10 meters away. like a whisper. its very close to be silent when a small guy is 50m away. they both flew electric first time and love it very much. so much thrust. yet so silent.

    Great stuff!! And amazing flight time -- 1+ hour -- on 4kWh!!! Amazing. Congrats!!! What are the dead battery characteristics while flying? E.g. what's the BMS low voltage cutoff, and how far are you comfortable discharging the pack to? Is it LiPo, 18650 NMC? I assume it is not LFP... Cheers!

    • @cloudpandarism2627
      @cloudpandarism2627  Рік тому +2

      cheers fellow pilot. the main difference i felt coming from gasoline paramotors was the noise and vibration. both are missing. makes flying so smooth. normal ppg feels clunky and rough. super loud and not enough power for me. electric have so much more power. feels like double from before to now. i can launch very easy which wasnt possible before. but all that comes very smooth and without drama. no smell on way home inside car. no carburator nonsense tuning everytime. no maintainance. you plug battery in and give it a 5 seconds look. preflight done. 😝
      people love to say the range is not enough but i couldnt be more happy. half hour is usually way more than i want to fly before landing and have a rest. i can charge from my car in 15min or just swap batteries to go back up. and then there is the silence when you let off throttle. oh boy thats the absolute best thing! i cant get enough just going up high and turn motor off. best feeling ever. for me personally the advantages clearly outperform every gasoline motor. less weight. much more power. super smooth and silent. and no more mess inside car after a flying day with oil and gasoline. i will never fly normal PPG again.

    Hi Tim, At the end your showing stats as 1hour flight time. For 35kg big battery.
    At 13:01 The last landing display was showing 00:28:51 minutes running time, I think. Would you be so kind and explain how you got an hour with display at 28mins? Please.

    • @cloudpandarism2627
      @cloudpandarism2627  7 місяців тому +1

      cheers mate, so the time you see right beside the battery gauge is counting reverse. means if you hold trottle lets say at cruise for leveled flight this timer will tell you how many minutes you have left at this power until the battery is empty. its an old display and this is usually used as battery caulometer for solar battery setup in your camper van or house. if you turn on things there this timer tells you hh:mm:ss you got left until battery is empty. its not a timer for how long we flew. 🫡
      pilot used low throttle at landing and the displays last calculation shows that he could have flown 28 more minutes at that low throttle

      i think you asked me about BMS before right? maybe i forgot if that was you. i dont use BMS for many reasons. the charger have BMS build in and thats the only time i want to use it. while flying it only creates another point for failure. i worked with high powered Bms for over 10 years and NONE of them could hold the amount of power they are "rated" for from factory. sooner or later they all went up in flames. most times sooner. happy thanksgiving bill!

    Is a 10kwh battery possible? What would the weight of a 10kwh battery be? What cells are you using? I'm not an electric guy! In fact I can't stand electric vehicles! However, I recently bought a Surron light bee which is an electric e bike. Fruity I know but the advantages of being able to ride it anywhere anytime silently out-weights my ridiculous opinions. My brand new moster 185 crapped out on me mid flight 300ft over water. You can imagine how that ended. I take full responsibly for the outcomes of my poor risk assessments. I live dangerously. This circles me back to an electric paramotor. I think if I can get somewhere close to a 2 hour flight I'm all in. I know a big battery will probably weigh close to 100lbs but I'm ok with that. It's only on your back for take off/landing. In flight i wont even know its there. Love to hear your thoughts good or bad if you have time. Thanks,

    • @cloudpandarism2627
      @cloudpandarism2627  Рік тому

      cheers mate. as far i know you dont need such big battery for 2 hours flight time. we are reaching that already. video will come when i had time to build 2 new prototypes.
      and yes i understand you. many people are against electric. especially cars since they "always catch fire randomly" blabla. 🤣
      i said it before and i stick to my opinion. flying electric isnt there to fully replace your gasoline engine if you love to fly 2-4 hours at a time. but 90% of all pilots fly around 30-60 minutes and that we can reach easy. its a good secondary unit to have for the relaxed afternoon cruise without the hassle to do any maintenance, carburetor adjustments, cylinder rebuilds and slashing around with gasoline or oil. the only thing you do before flight is look at it 5 seconds and plug battery in. 😅
      that alone was a big step in the right direction for me. i hated my unreliable moster185 which caused me so many emergency landings. i will never fly gasoline again.
      i own a surron too before but i felt it was too slow so i build my own 120km/h ebike with 55kw that time. if you think the surron is a nice thing to have and ride silently in places you couldnt take a good ol 2stroke than you will love flying electric. its much more silent and smooth to fly. if you are 50 meters away most people cant even hear you fly by. keep your eyes open for news here around jan 28 when we go to fly the newest prototypes. lots of videos are coming with big news and features. cheers°

      @@cloudpandarism2627 Thank you so much for the response! Looks like I will have to wait until you release a few new videos. What Kwh is required for a 2hr flight plus 25% reserve left in the battery? It is my understanding if you drain these batteries to 0% there is a chance the voltage will be too low to get the battery to charge again.

    • @cloudpandarism2627
      @cloudpandarism2627  Рік тому

      @@anthonyferraro3847 nope thats BS. you can always charge these batteries since i am not using a BMS or any other device to lock the pack in case of low discharge.
      we always leave a reserve in anyway. you do degrade the battery faster by flying it to absolute zero every single time. and you can increase the cycle times by charging it up to 90-95% only and fly down to 30% around if you wish to. not a must. with the newest lightweight unit i think 6 to 8kwh should be enough for that time but i also cant be sure yet since i changed so much. also depends on wing and pilot weight. the total take off weight should be around 30-35kg only with such a huge battery pack. but since my new unit is modular we can put on every battery combination we want. from a super lightweight 18-19kg 30min PPG up to whatever we feel is fun. me myself cant imagine flying for 2 hours straight. my arms will fall off. anyway we will test this setup and make a video. at jan 28 i go to fly and test 4 different units for 9 days and taking lots of video footage. i got like 10 different battery packs and many motor combinations. also lots of new nice features on the controller.
