- Sometimes knowing where the roots of your hobby is good! The 2014 Kyosho Beetle re-release brings back the way the hobby started back in the 1980's. The Baja Beetle has an officially licensed body from VW and tires from Goodyear. Sharing the majority of the parts from the famed Scorpion, the Beetle brings back the nostalgia of the blister packs in the box featuring partially assembled parts and the quality that Kyosho is known for.

I've got the Scorpion . Absolutely love it . Bulletproof . Kept it old school with an Orion Method 15t brushed but put a 2s lipo in to liven it up. Great kits. Great video. Thanks.

Same here. Guy who owns local rc shop here built one and I just copied what he had. Got everything around $200. Got a traxxas Titan 12t 550 motor, traxxas waterproof 2056 servo, traxxas waterproof xl5 esc, and spektrum sr410 receiver and dx4c remote. Over all ran it like 10 times and has plenty of power and is very fun. No issues

Nice unboxing I too wanted one of these when I was a kid but was a bit out of my price range then but now I have also invested in my own Kyosho Beetle, so now I am looking forward to seeing what electrics you use because I have been stuck on what to use. Anyhow great video 2 thumbs up.
Shayen Momot Yeah, I'm kinda puzzled as to what electrics too. Servo is easy, along with the ESC. But what motor?

The RCNetwork trying to spread the word and get an RC Off-road Comp for towards the end of the summer. Will be the 1st Annual and Western Montana has some great areas to possibly host a comp. I'm going to gather some local RC enthusiasts and try to make a short impressive video to advertise for the comp.

Hey rich! What do you think of the SMC 2s lipo batteries? I have a tekno sct410 with tekin rx8 and pro 4 4600 and it doesn't seem to have a lot of punch. I can't even clear a quad on my track but other teknos and losi trucks clear it by 3 or 4 feet. So idk of its my batteries or its my settings on the speed control or controller. Everything on the speed control in stock setting except for voltage cutoff, so idk what it could be. So I thought of trying a high quality, good battery and see if that helps. Just let me know what you think, thanks!
ryan belland I think they're decent batteries for the pricing, when they're in stock. That Tekin system in the Tekno will need very good batteries to push it around the track. I would look into the 6500-7200mah and as much C as you can afford. 65c and above. Make sure and cycle your new batteries from fully charged to 3.8v several times before you really start going to Lipo cutoff.
The RCNetwork When you say cycle them do you mean Charge them and then discharge them to 3.8v several times?
ryan belland You can either do it on a charger or running the vehicle watching the voltage.
