    The amount of thought that had to go into orchestrating all these steps so their colors contrasted and they were at the proper cure stage at the time of
    Filming is awe inspiring.

    Great video. Thanks. Your sound could be better. Try to put a high pass filter (HPF) on the sound and remove all frequencies under 200hz. This would remove all the low rumble sounds. And maybe have an eq that takes away the ac noice. That would be great.

    How is this product with moisture?? Is the cure affected by temperatures?? I’m trying to make a custom mold using a carcass. Taxidermy stuff...I use a two part polyurethane foam mix to make the forms. So would I be able to place the project back into the freezer while partial/full cures are taking place, so that the carcass doesn’t completely thaw/leak and possibly lose shape??

    I made a project where I had tto use a glove mold to avoid seamlines and flashing, because the part didnt allow me to do any cleanup. The demolding was very diffecult, because the part was a long tubelike shape with a bigger diameter at the top. So I came up with a way to demold without adding stress to the mold material. I did an alteration to a pressure pot so I could put the mold into it and then add vacuum to it. This "inflated" the mold llike a balloon and I could remove the part just like picking it up from a table. Maybe some of you can use this idea to demold difficult parts.

    • @smoothon

    • @smoothon
      @smoothon  Місяць тому

      Thank you for your comment! When casting with resin, the type of resin used can vary depending on the specific project requirements. Smooth-On offers a variety of resins such as urethane resins, epoxy resins, and polyester resins for casting applications. Each resin type has unique properties and is suitable for different applications. It's essential to choose the right resin based on your project needs. If you need further assistance in selecting the appropriate resin for your casting project, feel free to reach out to Smooth-On's Technical Support Group for personalized guidance.

      Затем положи молд меду колен, отрегулируй натяжение верёвки и затяни узлы.
      Крокодилом зажми одну сторону молда, после надреза зажми другим зажимом другую сторону, раздвигая колени, ты делаешь натяжение силикона, и у тебя две руки свободны, для работы с ножиком.
      4 hands are better than two, buy two strong clamps = alligator clips at auto parts.
      tie a thick rope to them, pass the rope along the soles of your feet while sitting on a chair.
      Then place the mold on your knees, adjust the tension of the rope and tighten the knots.
      Clamp one side of the mold with a crocodile, after making the cut, clamp the other side with another clamp, spreading your knees, you stretch the silicone, and you have two hands free to work with a knife.
