We're asked some of the most challenging mold making questions. In this installment of Making Things with Milo, Milo walks us through the process of capturing a whole head of broccoli in a silicone mold in order to produce a highly detailed flexible urethane resin casting.

could you make a mushroom? some mushrooms (like chantarelles) have deep, thin lamellae and irregular geometries, so I can imagine that it would be more difficult to make a (brush on) mold.
how about a mold from a spikey chestnut burr? this seems very hard, given the thin protruding parts

Would Sonite Wax help to make casting multiples a bit faster because less care would need to be taken when demolding the castings?

Any release agent, such as Ease Release 200, would assist with demolding.
