- Hades is a prominent figure in Greek mythology, known as the god of the underworld and the dead. He is the eldest son of the Titans Cronus and Rhea. Hades presides over the realm of the dead, where souls go after death, and he is often depicted as a stern and unyielding figure, ruling over the spirits with an iron hand.

I think the best description I've come across for Hades is that despite often being portrayed as the Greek equivalent of Satan, he's really more like the Greek equivalent of what you would get if you combined God with Saint Peter.
That's not true though. Hades is portrayed as a legitimate god of the underworld and has the respect of his peers whereas Satan is a fallen angel living in disgrace and thoroughly evil. Hades is not evil but does only his job appointed to him by Olympus. The only common thing he has with Satan is that they both supposedly live in the underworld. Need to do your homework on greek Mythology my friend!

I always felt each ancient culture had its own firm belief in the underworld, realms of death, rulers of those realms! Greek: Hades, River Stix, Charon. Vikings: Dimmu Borgir, Nastrond, Hella, Shore of corpses. Egypt: Anubis, Christian: Hell-torment, lake of fire, Satan, Lucifer, the devil, fallen angels=demons, etc. Each in their own seperate dimensions, completely different scenarios. And may I say, you have done my vision of Hades justice! Thank you for a going to be a much repeated journey! Well Done!

The thing is, for a Greek God, Hades wasn't all that bad. In fact he was a much more self controlled and decent man than most in the rest of the Greek mythos. I would say that women can be safe around him with little fear of being raped and forced to have his kids.
