- Where should you place your head when executing the Butterfly Hook Sweep (a.k.a. Sumi Gaeshi Sweep)? Next to your opponent's far or near shoulder?
Both options will get the job done, but your head positioning will dictate your opponent's counters and defenses.

I tried the near sholder version on whitebelt who was unexpetienced with the butterfly guard. My training partner's head hit the floor first and got concussion. So I prefer the outside for safety reasons.
If goal is to sweep from half undertook, best to keep on nearside
