Great video! Thanks for emphasizing the silica particles’ harm, i will make sure to protect myself. hope i can find similar products here in the united states!
The first comprehensive guide to polish glass headlights! How many discs did you use? The Mirka brand is hard to buy in less than 50pcs per grit. Thanks!
Hi Bjørn! I used 1 pad of each for each side. So I used one 150 grit net, one 360 grit pad, one 600 grit, one 1000 grit, one 1500 grit, one 2000 grit, one 3000 grit. You just double the number from 150 to 2-3000 and then the cerium oxide based polish. I used Mirka, because I found that. If you can find any other brand, it can work, but it has to be good for glass. If the company says, maybe, it's not good enough. Mirka even has glass sanding tutorial videos on it's website. Just message @KWHMirkaLtd I'm sure they will tell you a shop you can buy their products.
Hi Taylor! I used one of each for each side. So 1pc 180grit net, 1pc 360grit pad, 1pc 600grit pad, 1pc 1000grit pad, 1pc 2000grit pad, 1pc 3000grit pad. 1 net and 5 pads total. And then the cerium-oxide based glass polish. It would probably work with less steps but I didn't want to risk it. The cost was about €10-15 or $10-15 total/side. The cerium-oxide is the most expensive part. Thanks for asking.
Hey! It's Mirka. Mirka polarshine E3. But any cerium-oxide based polish will work. The more important part is the sanding stuff. That was harder to find. Mirka abranet and abralon. I think 120-3000 and then the polarshine stuff. Good luck!
Szia!

Happy to help!
Purchasing all this equipment is alot more expensive than just getting new headlights, a DIY should be cheaper!
What i wanna find out is converting that like from the polycarbonate plastic to glass on a car. I hate the plastic on headlights
