Good work James. I've followed this project from the beginning. You make it interesting and look so easy. As a fellow DIY mechanic and Vauxhall owner, you've given me a few useful tips. Cheers mate.
The thing to remember with sealer is less is more and what ever pushes out of the side also pushes into your motor and nothing clogs an oil pick up pipe like sealer, good to see you weren't trying to use the full tube and just using what's necessary
Nice work keep it up, a little advice with my experience just because you have a impact gun does not mean you have to use it for everything, I would strongly recommend when working on an engine, ally or iron to always crack the bolt off by hand I have repaired many mechanics mistakes where if they had cracked it off by hand it would have saved them a lot of time and my effort but keep up the good work, nice to see the correct use of a torque wrench
You are probably spot on, you know how it is when you get a new toy though! I will learn when to use it and when not too lol thankyou for the tip though bud
Great job your videos are very educational...keep up...I believe you should have used some brake clean on the oil pan and paint it too but ok. Cheers from greece
What make is that impact gun, i don't recognise it? I have some Ryobi 18V impacts. They seem ok. They are made by the same company in China that make Milwaukee power tools. Is that engine block cast iron or Aluminium? Because i wouldn't use an impact on regular bolts in aluminium. Only if they were small alan or torx bolts that have a knack for stripping out. Awesome for really coroded stuff and zipping your wheels back on and off quick. I have one of those torque sticks for 100Nm. Makes sticking my wheels back on real quick.
+zoidberg444 Its made by Hawk tools bud, its a 14v gun but is nice and cheap! Yea i think the block is cast but the head is aluminium.. i could do with a torque stick instead of using a torque wrench
Air compressor? Do you mean the air conditioning Mate? You don't need to remove it, all you need is a belt for a Astra without a/c which will delete it out . If you want to remove it get it de-gassed and just remove all components like the pump, a/c lines and so on
Hi James great vid as all ways, do you remember when I asked you to a vid on changing the fuel filter on the corsa.I did watched the vid in what you put up but could you have any suggest/advice because mine is rusted to hell even where the pipes fit its all bubbled up with rust and yes there is a hole in the filter its self ...thank youjim
+Neil M82 Ebay mate, cost like £6 here is the link.. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SILVERLINE-MAGNETIC-SCREWDRIVER-DRILL-BIT-HOLDER-MECHANIC-TOOL-280mm-948966-/150933460440?hash=item232455d5d8:m:mYW_mjmXxZ9K7qkBwNQLkRQ
i would have taken the time and effort, using some serious degreasser and a pressure washer to clean out the old oil residue and carbon. wont hurt , tho start off as fresh as possible. the sump and pickup ofcourse, not the underside of the piston :D
awesome video but you shouldn't yous a impact gun on a smal bolt it could stripe the thread or brake the socket but I love you videos I am a 11 year's old and I am saving up for a snap on 3/8 rachet but I learn a lot from you thanks
do you have a link to your battery impact pal I brought the one you gave me the link to on your last video and it's great for tyre changes and rotations.
