I also had 4 m705 marathon mouse and recently bought this!
great review! I just got this from amazon and I love the feature that allows for smooth scroll between your 3 connected devices! wow talk about a time saver - and definitely thanks for the hidden features :)
My old mouse broke recently few days ago and I bought the same model again.
Excellent review. Very pleasant presentation style, very informative and insightful. Thank you so much for this excellent review.
Just bought this mouse at Best Buy and I LOVE IT! Thank you for showing the hidden features! Especially That hidden thumb button!
Thanks for the review!
Love that they brought back the USB receiver storage inside the shell! Also, rechargeable batteries don't last forever, and being able to pop a fresh battery in and keep going is better over time, not to mention you don't have to search for a charging cable when the internal battery wears down. If you like rechargeable batteries, you can buy a handful of the rechargeable batteries of your choice and use them, as we do. Only strike I see on the Triathlon Mouse is the rubberized outer coating, which will degrade faster than the micro switches inside the mouse. My old Marathon Mouse was smooth and not suffering from a degrading coating they now use like my TV remote is. BTW, the only problem with my old Marathon is the scroll wheel slips for some reason. Micro switches are still working 😁.
Do you have any problems accidentally clicking the back, device switching button when trying to use the Back button?
Great to see someone else that supports replacable batteries
Great review! Thank you for explaining the hidden features. I didn't know it was Bluetooth and includes a hidden thumb button.
i'm replacing my Marathon so this is exactly what i'm looking for!
i just added this plus the k850 as a combo set for my first kind of 'office gear'
after figuring out my avast AV was causing some issues I got flow to work and it's such a great tool when it comes to productivity
being able to replace the batteries on both is a plus and I can see myself using these two for a while
the signature k/m650 combo was another choice I was looking at and bolt seems like it will be great in the office but out of my budget.. for now?!
awesome review!
I bought the same one a few months ago. I use it with both a mac and pc. I should have replaced my wired mouse long ago. To be honest, it's over-priced at $60-70 cad. I've noticed some erratic behaviour. Scrolling stops working in chrome but the pointer works. But at the same time scrolling works in native windows menus.
If you have a Costco near you, they're selling it at $30 near me or $20 when it was on sale a few months ago. I'm not too sure if it's that cheap at the Costco in Canada though. I also had erratic behavior at from time to time (especially on my older 2013 Macbook Pro). I found that uninstalling the universal receiver software and reinstalling it fixed this issue for me.
I love the M705.. mine died because of the buttons.. I had it for so long that the side where my thumb was resting for so long dug a hole.. The M720 is very similar, but I wish it had a DPI button, but I did not remember cursor issues being too slow or too fast...
You can adjust cursor speed, just not dpi
Battery lasted exactly 3 months and 12 days here (daily use, controlling 2 computers - one via unifying and one via bluetooth).
thanks i wanted to know that, i changed one after a while and change one after 3 month. i thought there was some issues with mine.
@@amarnathkrishnan6382 no problem, glad to help! I'm on my third battery change, 3 months now again :D very heavy use (12h+ per day)
The thing is that the switches can be relatively easily replaced (maybe less than 10 minutes per switch) if you know how to solder/desolder and have the tools. Logitech could have designed the switch "hot-swappable" (like a mechanical keyboard) so that users could replace them easily without soldering, but Logitech probably want you to throw away otherwise working mice and buy new one.
Hi thanks I am considering this mouse now as an upgrade from my ultra basic one. Just wondering… have you ever tried a wrist support with it, or ever felt the need? I’m getting some wrist pains and wondering if that will help. Thanks!
Wrist support for the mouse? If you have wrist issues with mouse, consider the vertical mouse from Logitech which has same silent click
@@teohontech7141 OK thanks!
@@teohontech7141 Yeah I guess that's the right way thanks.
I wanted to get a mouse that can pair up to 3 devices just like this one, unfortunately it's not a silent mouse, which is a deal breaker. I stop at M590
Great review! I just purchased this a couple of months ago but now find it's 'skipping' when I use it. I use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and a little Blender on a macOS Monterey. Great mouse, just trying to figure out why it's doing the 'skipping'. Thanks!
My guess is connection issues. When the mouse is skipping constantly, move the mouse as close to the computer as possible to see if it still skips. If skipping stops, it may mean connection earlier wasn't good so you may have to pair the mouse again with the computer.
Hì Teoh, does this work well with the Mi Pad 6? As in any latency or jumpiness?
I don't have Mi Pad 6 so I cannot confirm. But it's a good mouse so I don't expect any problems.
@@teohontech7141 Thanks Teo!
The flow is to switch between different computers in a very fluid way, as if you were just switch between screens.
hi, i guess there are no profiles in the Logitec Options software, right?
like iCue from Corsair has .
Hey, thank you for the review.
It seems to me that with this mouse the pointer on PC is moving rather slow. Is it true or you just haven't adjust the speed in settings? Like, how much in centimeters you have to move the mouse physically to travel from one corner of the PC display to another ?
The cursor speed can be adjusted via settings
great and well explained video 👍👍
Question: does anyone know of a logitech model that is re-chargeable with easy-switch on top or on the side and can pair with up to three devices ?
How are the buttons so far? Especially the left click button? I'm thinking of buying one but I'm afraid it'll be just like any other mouse that at some point, starts to register a single click as double-clicks.
I’m no longer using this. But I have it this model for a very long time and did not have issues with clicking and durability
@@teohontech7141 That's really great to know. Thanks for the prompt reply! 😃
My M705's left click button died only after a few years, it is not really durable as i was expecting. it seems like this is a common issue for this model
nice, going to buy one. my n705 just died. i replaced the batteries and it will not work. had it for many years too.
can u use this mouse with an ipad pro?
Yes you can.
I dont need bluetooth, or multiple device connection, but I can get the 720 for not much more than the 705.
Should I get the 720 anyway? I prefer a larger mouse and if the 720 is higher or more 'humped' the 720 sounds better.
I dont like it when the left and right click buttons are flat. So more slanted or steep suits me better.
Thanks
Get the 720. It's just better. Even if you don't use bluetooth, it has the USB wireless receiver which is useful.
@@teohontech7141
I figured so but had to ask anyway 😁.
So much for saving a few $ then ☺️.
Thanks for the quick reply btw 👍
I hate to shit on reviews that people put up for free but the USP of this mouse is the ability to switch between screens and you didn't show it, you also didn't go into how 'Flow' worked. Feel like these are pretty essential items to leave out of the review to be honest.
I'm looking for a mouse with a scroll wheel that feel confortable while keeping it pressed for estensive periods because software like 3ds max requires that button to be kept pressed to navigate around your viewport. Is this mouse a good option?
Not sure about you but it is comfortable for me. There are newer mouse with silent clicks and those may be more comfortable.
@@teohontech7141 just interested in the scroll wheel button not the other buttons. It's very difficult to make my mind from these video reviews.
Which is more silent M590 or M720
Is there a way to configure forward/back buttons on m270 triathlon to high/low dpi?
How would you compare M705 's scroll wheel compared to this one? -- M705's wheels felt a little "loose" for me even in the "locked" position. Are they about the same?
They are kinda similar.
@@teohontech7141 Thanks for your reply! If you don't mind one more question, have you used MX Master 3? Is the scroll wheel on that one feel about the same or more rigid?
@@iranjackheelson I've not used MX Master 3 before. That's quite expensive so I'm not sure if the performance is significantly better because the M720 already performs really well.
@@teohyc right now i have M705 and M720 side by side. In the hyper-scroll mode, somehow 720 lets me glide in a completely smooth continuous motion when i scroll in webpages (I'm in Chrome) while with 705 it kinda moves in intervals (even in unlocked hypermode position). Do you also notice this difference?
@@iranjackheelson There should not be any pause/break when the scroll wheel is just rolling.
Is the mouse quiet?
Solid performer. My favourite mouse thus far. Some RGB would be nice. RGB is nice on anything lol I just like RGB
I'm about to purchase this mouse, but I'm still worried about the rubber coating. I have 6 devices with rubber coatings, and 3 of them has now become very sticky. The other are holding up well, and I can differentiate that those have a thinner, smoother, more subtle rubber feeling coat, while the ones that are now very sticky had a thicker-feeling coat, which were already a little bit sticky when they were still brand new.
I hope you can help me determine which one does this mouse have?
This one seems like the thinner type. My area has high humidity and the rubber on the mouse is holding out well
@@teohontech7141 Thanks for the quick response! Although a third party seller has also just informed me a while ago that it's a 2mm rubber layer, not just a coating, now I'm confused lol. I'm actually also worried about rubber layers because I currently have a m337 mouse, which has a rubber grip layer, I've been using it for less than a year and an area of it has come unstuck, and I did find another case happening to him twice, with the m590 mouse, which has almost the same rubber grip.
Going back to the m720, there are people who are saying they don't like the texture and assuming it will become sticky, but i haven't actually seen anyone with an actual worst case experience (becoming very sticky or layer coming off). Plus, I also did find some reviews just now of 2-4 years usage, and theirs are holding up well too. If it's indeed a thin type coat, then that's also reassuring for me, but which ever it really is, coating or layer, it seems like a good quality material put well together, so I'm buying this later. Cheers!
hi...does this mouse has middle click to open new tab???? thanks
Yea I'm 99% sure
Any idea how is this compared to MX Anywhere 3? Was thinking of this 2 mouse..
I've not tried MX Anywhere 3 so I can't say much except that it's quite expensive.
Mostly i think this is made of plastic and that was with some aluminium and plastic, horizontal scrolling is on top of my mind. I dont think there will be a major noticable differences
hi what is the website to download. I am using macbook pro but i dont know why it cannot connect
I just purchased mine and it has a pretty audible rattle sound when using it. Am I the only one with this problem or is it normal in this model?
It should make no sound unless you click
I have the M705 as well, for about 5 years now and have been looking to upgrade it. Comparing this triathlon to it, is it worth the upgrade? Im contemplating this or splurging and getting the MX3 Master. I have always liked the MX series
CjPhotography8 if your hands are bigger go for mx master. I have mx master 2s for almost three years and i have smaller hands and never get used to for mx master so i am going to buy this mice instead
I have an M720 at work and MX Master 1 at home (among other mice too). I have smaller hands. The MX Master does feel better made. But I think the M720 is actually a better mouse for people with smaller hands. It feels nicer, is lighter and the thumb buttons are positioned better. If you need to switch between two devices then the button to switch between them is placed by your thumb rather than underneath, which is a better position. The only downside of the M720 is needing to replace the battery every few months and no battery indicator.
Do you know of a rechargeable version of this mouse?
Not that I can think of
Do the side buttons work for gaming?
Yes if you assign them using the Logitech software.
Is it good for big hands?
Not sure about that. Maybe not. My hand is small and it fits nicely. So it may be small for big hands
hi guys i have this mouse, and the scrolling is reversed when i scroll up it goes down the page and when i scroll down it goes up the page any idea if its the mouse that is faulty or if theres a way i can take it off mirror setting or change Thanks ( on a macbook air)
Strange. You should be able to change the scrolling direction with Mac settings or Logitech settings.
Got this mouse for a year now. Afdter few months randomly doesn't react on click, sometimes clics twice. Don't recommend it.
There should be a one year warranty. Contact Logitech and see what they say.
Compatible con iOS 14.2 en iPad Pro 2020 ?
Yes
T^T Why got sg accent but no SG affiliate link
Does anyone have a laggy and glitchy experience with this mouse? I bought it recently for my mac and I find the cursor movement not being smooth. I have tried disconnecting the Bluetooth and using just the dongle but still not a smooth experience.
Logitech has Mac specific products, maybe try those
I have same experience, it is kinda lagging sometimes on my mac pro.
I have same issues but on my windows. Plus I ordered from Amazon but the packaging is not same as original and the color of the bottom on the mouse is black rather than white. I’m not sure why.
I had this issue, but uninstalling the software and reinstalling it fixed the problem for me. Tracking would randomly jump around or not keep up with how fast I move the mouse. I haven't had a single issue since I did this.
This mouse is perfect for trolling your friends at school just connect it with Bluetooth when your friend is not looking and connect to it randomly and mess aroubd
Can it work on Android without using the dongle?
yes
No info on how to connect to multi computers. Pretty worthless revies
Press the connect switch to change to connection to 1 2 or 3, then hold down the button to pair.
