Given this was sent for free and there are affiliate links, more of an ad than a review no? Certainly not an unbiased review. I know this is the norm on the Tube these days, I just always appreciate transparency.
For sure, totally respectable point…as the description reads “This camera was sent to me by Insta360 for the purpose of review however all my thoughts and opinions shared are very much my own. This is a product I genuinely use daily so this was a great opportunity to share hopefully some insight into how.” The video also clearly has displayed on screen “this is part of paid promotion” inline with UA-cam policy so by no means intending to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes 🫡
@@BenIsRunning You describe it as a review but it's an advert. You have a relationship w/ Insta360 so how can it possibly be an independent review? Many UA-camrs think their subscribers are daft.
Its probably why people generally appreciate the likes of Ben Parkes more in terms of reviewing anything since he buys everything with 100% of his own money, whereas its a mixed bag elsewhere. Not saying it would happen, but if Ben Felton gave a really bad review of Soar or Adidas, do you think they'll send him free gear again in the near future? 🤔
It's said that the changes are minor... It's like buying a new IPhone each year... do you absolutely need it ? No, but you buy it because it's the latest in each category... There are already some comparisons out there if you want to watch
Nice informative review Ben but you ought to state off the bat you were given the camera in the video rather than expect people to read links/description or watch upto the last 10 seconds.
Looking for a video if the 3s filming a parkrun with other runners thinking of getting this camera for this purpose... Yet to find a video of this just the older version of this camera...keep up the great content your inspiring alot if people including myself.
Hey Ben! Love the review, looks like something that would really be useful for what I’m filming. I Just started filming my training for my second marathon, and am hoping to go under 2:30 for my marathon. I was wondering if you have any advice for a training plan/content creation?
Hey Ben! Thanks for the review. Curious did you find the hat attachment or magnet through shirt pendant as a better attachment for running POV content?
I really like the look of this Ben and a great review by the way 👏 I didn't see the stick as an option on the website 🤔 As a cyclist, as-well as running, I hope they sort Wahoo integration soon for data overlays as that is the only thing from stopping me making a purchase 🙏
What running phone tripod do you recommend for long runs? I'm looking for something lightweight and easy to carry inside my running vest. I'd also like the tripod to be able to extend.
The mount came with the package and the selfie stick is one from insta360 I’ve had since I had the GO 2. Not sure if you can buy it on the website but I presume so :)
This is great Ben, highly appreciated, I’ve ordered it, I noticed you didn’t have a coupon code. Could be great next time you recommend a product. All the best from Oz’
I just started running again after a brain injury, unfortunately on the running track there is a guy who rides his motorbike and has almost wiped me out a few times, it is illegal, today I went to film him and he hurled abuse at me and told me he'd get me next time. So it made me think what can I do for safety. Obviously him thinking he's being filmed got rid of him, then i thought what if I was accosted and again was filming and told them or actually waas live streaming my running, then rather than needing my phone to get the video, there'd actually be live footage so saved evidence and possible help if needed. Any ideas on that?
@@BenIsRunningDo you feel that the "record/stop record" button is sensitive? I mean; if you put it in the pocket of your shorts; could it easily turn itself on and record the inside of your shorts and use up the recordminutes?
Hi Ben. When you were talking about vlogging you said you would use the insta. But I noticed a restricted depth of field in the shot. That one would not normally get with an action camera. What were you shooting on at that point? Thanks
That shot in this video is shot with my mirrorless camera which I use for all my sit down style shots. I’d need some bigger biceps to use that as a vlog camera 😂
In terms of vlogging, I’m talking about when I’m genuinely walking around/on the go where the portability for me outweighs say deep of field but will change between the two given the situation
How would you compare the footage to the insta360 Ace pro? I use that camera for my videos and I love the footage but it’s a lot harder to carry compared to this camera! I would love to hear your opinion, thanks!
I’ve only used the GO range from insta360 purely because of its portability for me in races. The quality as hopefully you can see is definitely a step up but can’t compare to the ace pro as haven’t used that product :)
@@BenIsRunning Thanks for the reply! I totally understand the appeal of the GO range for portability, especially during races where every bit of convenience matters. Your footage looks impressive, and it’s great to see that the quality is a step up. I might need to try out the GO range for those times when carrying the Ace Pro is just too cumbersome. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing your insights!
@@NicolasWollesen Yes, so I never record clips longer than 15 seconds. I feel like we switch footage every four seconds anyway, so what’s the point, that was just bore everyone. Doing it this way the go 2 Would last me roughly 4 or five hours outside of the pod, with recording maybe 20 or 30 snippets. Now, With the go 3S, I’ve had it out of the pod for six hours, recording just as many snippets, and still have 25% left.
@@RunningPodcast Thank you so much. Exactly the info I was looking for. And how, if I may ask, do you practically do it? Is it a special mode or do you just quick capture and stop it again after 15 seconds?
@@NicolasWollesen I set it on 2.7k at 30 frames and ultra wide. I wear it on my visor and all I have to do is push the capture button once. Unlike w the go2, the go3s does not record in pro mode (that’s a con in my opinion as the pro mode allowed you to reframing (and deciding whether you want vertical or horizontal)) so you have to pay attention whether you’re holding it vertically or horizontally prior to pressing the capture button. Since I use it for YouTubing the horizontal on the visor is fine . But when I take it out to capture myself w it you gotta make sure you know whether you wanna use the clip for UA-cam or a reel (horizontal) but you get used to it!

Great video! As someone new toto vlogging, do you film while holding the little camera on your run? Or do you use it with a selfie stick

Great video Ben. Love getting the perspective from a runner. I like running with my Go 3 because it’s so light and I can just point and shoot. 👍🏼😀📸
So handy right! People often thing I’m running along with a massive dslr but no it’s just this little guy 😂

Thanks, ended up buying one. Do you normally leave your case when you're running and just take the small camera?
Most of the time yes! Especially for races/workouts. The only time I take the case is when I want to use other features like slomo/timelapse :)
Cheers 👍

No LOG Color Profile, just “flat.” And if you’re asking, no, they’re not the same.

so its really good for runners?
I’ve been using these for marathon and just replaced my go2 w the go3s- they used to have pro mode. What do you shoot in while running?
Can I ask how you film them? Reason I'm asking is that the camera without the pod "only" has 45 minutes of battery life.

ASICS superblast 2 !!

Currently working on a studio space so once that’s up and running I’ve got plenty to catch up on :)
What's the battery life like?
Much better than the older models. In the case I can use it all day no problem and out of the case it lasts around 40mins-1hour when filming
the frame rate doesnt look good though, seems worse than 30 fps actually
That's what she said 😞
Stop it with the ads. We’re not stupid.
I’ll just pay the water bill with free shoes, cheers
