To show you the kind of footage the Insta360 GO 3S can get and how it integrates into my vlogs. EDIT: I was just made aware in the comments that the pendant is thicker for stronger magents (not for better POV angles) and that the previous easy clips also had magnets, the only difference is the graphic to show you which way the camera connects! Given the scandal that Insta360 is embroiled in with the tech community where they have asked influencers to disguise the sponsorship/gifting, it makes me wonder if you have been asked the same. But about the scandal that broke the youtube tech internet lol, I wasn't asked to disguise anything. I'm such a small channel that there's no reason to hide or for me to hide, a sponsorship. In fact, that's something I've been very vocal about wanting - sponsorships 🙌🏼 But I can totally see where you are coming from. As I've watched many reviews today, it feels like half of them didn't put the paid promo notification on or talk about sponsorship either. This is something I've noticed a lot with these big creators regardless of company or brand, not just insta360. There's such a grey area whether something is or isn't sponsored when it comes to free products. So as I was filming, I was treating this as a non-sponsored video. It's just that I'm very wary now of UA-camrs who don't disclose receiving products or getting paid to review products, as I've been burned before. Also, with the issues with Insta360, can't help but be more conscious when watching reviews. It's a shame because their products are good, I have the X4 and it's fantastic, I wish they just allowed the products to speak for themselves instead of being dodgy with their requests. I don't have anything against sponsored videos, it is really just another form of marketing and talents should be paid for their work, I am against non-disclosure of said arrangements. Now i've got the new Go 3 s and there is nothing like this. No Barrel Roll or the possibility to choose a point to change the Angle in Video. I hope you guys understand. Sorry for my Bad english.
Always love your videos! This one couldn’t have come out a better time; I just got my hands on an Insta360 Go 2 (I know, it’s a bit older 😅) and have been using it for the past few days and LOVE it. It’s soooooo convenient and fun to use. I’m definitely keeping my eye out on that 3S because of the 4K res 🤩 What did you think about the battery life on this one?

Hahaha because that looks like an easy and effortless filming that I could maybe do so I can post cooking shows without having to worry about camera placement 🤣 and easier to maybe do vlogs that are very realistic without having to think so much about aesthetics hahaha
Hi you! So both the GO 3 and GO 3S, the small cameras are magnetic and they come with a magnet pendant you where under your shirt like a necklace and you can stick the camera on for POV! Also, good to hear we didn't get taken advantage of for pricing, hard to find comps! I messaged you on IG about the hammock btw!

I’m a budding content creator (travel/running) from Canada with hardly any subscribers lol😂…I truly enjoy the story aspect of video creation/editing and I love your style.. your storytelling and A glimpse into your life. I’m looking to replace my GoPro (cracked lens) and I think I’ll go with insta360! I like that it is small but still great quality I do worry that battery won’t last though. By the way.. Hey Zoe! I think you’ll love the GO 3S… don’t worry about the battery life, with the action pod, it lasts quite long and I think you’ll enjoy it very much over the GoPro. I’ve owned almost every GoPro until I tried out other action cams from Insta360 and DJI. Won’t be going back unless they innovate. I haven’t tried the HoverX but have seen many videos on it. It looks super cool and convenient! Thank you for the sub!

Yea, I think it’s an add on accessory. I think it’s useful for creators on the go, especially short form but I’m always at my desk when grabbing the footage so haven’t used it.
Finally couldn't resist the temptation and upgraded to GO3S from GO3. Here are some initial findings: 1.The neck pedant is much better now, the wedge is gone. The cap mount is now magnetic so I can tilt the while firmly fixed on the neck pedant. This reduce the need for freeframe video. 2.The side of the detachable camera body now has a grooved design so it is less slippery to hold on to. 3.The video quality of the 4K/30 is great so far. This is a fun b roll camera. I won't use it for any serious photo shooting so it does the job. 4.The Freeframe mode is limited to 4:3 instead of 16:9. Something you must be aware of if upgrade. 5. The camera UI seems snappier overall. The GO3 wasn't slow by any means. 6.The sticky stand is now improved. Flexible base can adhere to curved surfaces better. Slimmed down and has a cover flap that cannot be removed so you won't lose it. I am not sure how secure it is comparing to the old one with the detachable (losable) sticker cover.

The insta360 camera looks like it belongs in my kit 🧐 and why do you always make me crave little every meal you eat and I don’t even eat red meat! Haha that in and out looked bomb. We love SD and only ever focus on breweries lol so would love to know about some good eats ☺️

I'm in SD too, had no idea that lake was closed, lol. You would need an ocean rod for Coronado. No more InnOut for this gal, doctor's orders. You need to try Beef N Bun off Navajo/Fletcher Pkwy...yum fries and shakes...I get the grilled chicken combo with extra fries (2x/yr)-Walk-in or drive thru. Camera is crazy tiny, great job!

any tips on starting content creation? how do you get gigs, and how do you price it? i'm not a youtuber, but i used to be an instagrammer / photographer. the most i ever did back then, was maybe get some free bags, etc. but, i wouldn't mind starting a side hustle.

I live in san diego too. It's a nice city to live in. There's a heatwave right now across the country, and it stays pretty much in the mid 70s where i live. I love san diego weather.
Planning to head to Japan to Fly FPV primarily on the east coast (the Go3S - 4K is a big deal). I have been waiting to try the Go series. I am familiar with Insta360 action cameras. The lack of 4K has held me back until now. The closest other option is the ThumbPro but no internal battery is a hassle. Pick me and maybe I can connect and film you in Japan surfing? Families can connect!

Can you still freely reframe the footages in freeframe instead of just change to different aspects ratio? It work on Go2 and Go 3(does it ?) but seems like doesn’t work in Go3S?

13:56 I noticed how blown out the lighting is outside of your window and that was always my main concern with the original go 3, When it's sunny outside, the image often gets blown out
The image here of the widow is blown out because I have face metering on and HDR turned off (I hate how HDR looks on skin tones). But shooting in full sun with the GO3 and the GO3s hasn't given me many problems. I did pick up some ND filters recently so excited to see how that looks. I also recommend taking down the exposure if you feel the picture is coming out overexposed for your liking or grabbing some filters. I have the DJI Pocket 3 and that thing overexposes like crazy but ND filters have worked wonders.
I was scared to turn them on. Didn’t want to mess anything up so I’m not sure! However, I don’t think they sell the camera alone without the action pod.

Hey! I would say it’s worth it and very convenient and easy to use which is why I would choose it over the X4 for what you’re wanting to film. The X4 is versatile but also extra (a lot) of work to get the footage onto a computer since it’s 360 footage. You’ll have to use their studio app to convert the clips. Lots of options which is great but time consuming. That’s also why I like it for B-Roll and specialty shots where I think capturing a huge area/scene would look cool. Maybe the X4 could be something you add down the line.
😅it is so Bad, the new 3s has no freeframe mode like the Go 3. 4K is nice to have, but real freeframe is much more important for the Go Camera i think.
You said the thicker magnet in the pendant "helps with the POV of everything"... What on Earth could this possibly mean? It is thicker to make it stick better. Also, regarding the easy clip you said "the key difference with this one is that now it has magnets, so it's easier to clip on and off"... You seem to have seriously misunderstood the promotional material. Also, you owned a Go 3, so you ought to know that the easy clip was always magnetic. What's new is that they have labeled it so you know which way to stick the camera in and also they put a metal plate in the clip part so that it will be able to be mounted to the pendant and give it far more adjustability than the stupid wedges that get lost. So, yeah, you said some pretty strange stuff, and I've watch about 20 reviews of this camera so far today. That accessory is called a quick reader. They have it for some of their other cameras, which you should probably know. Super cute chihuahuas, though!
Hey there. I usually mention in all my camera videos that I'm not a tech channel and just your average vlogger who loves gear (I put it in the description and a pinned comment since I forgot this time around). My camera videos are about how they fit into my Vlog channel. That's why this video is titled A Week in the Life... and not a review. Sorry about that! As for the pendant, the original GO 3 had included a separate plastic magnetic piece that attaches to the pendant to angle the camera downwards for a better POV. I assumed right away that was why it was thicker. But you're right, it's just thicker (probably for stronger magnets). I also lost my first easy clip but I thought it attached based on friction, my mistake. With that said, of the 20 reviews you saw, how much actual footage did they share from the camera? Was it all in just good light situations? Did you get a good grasp of the audio in different scenarios? I have a solid 20+ minutes of it using it around various scenarios, locations, and lighting situations with a mukbang to boot 😂 I hope that counts for something. And lastly... as a tech nobody in this space, they just sent me the camera because they saw an interest in it from a vlogger perspective/audience. They didn't review the video or give me a talking point list. They're probably reserving that manpower for people like Peter Mckinnon. But thank you for the constructive criticisms... that's how I get better. And if I get another shot at this, I won't make the same mistakes!

Keep on doing your thing and i'm sure you'll be on their radar to showcase more stuff in the future. oh, and i'd rather see things a little raw than polished and i don't need everything explained precisely the way a manual sounds. It'd rather see it demo'd in the field and how it fits into a shooting workflow compared to watching a commercial.

I'm not a tech channel either, but I understand how the hat clip worked before and how it is different now since there are only two significant changes to a thing which was very uncomplicated to begin with. I'm just suggesting that maybe if you're going to attempt to try to explain how something works, maybe you should attempt to understand how it works first. You put so much effort into the video, but not as much into the information. I know this is going to come off super critical and a lot of people are going to think I'm a jerk, but I just have a very high sense of duty when it comes to the responsibility of informing others of facts. The GO series in general are so handy, glad you're loving the GO 2! Battery life has been great! Especially with the action pod.

Finally couldn't resist the temptation and upgraded to GO3S from GO3. Here are some initial findings: 1.The neck pedant is much better now, the wedge is gone. The cap mount is now magnetic so I can tilt the while firmly fixed on the neck pedant. This reduce the need for freeframe video. 2.The side of the detachable camera body now has a grooved design so it is less slippery to hold on to. 3.The video quality of the 4K/30 is great so far. This is a fun b roll camera. I won't use it for any serious photo shooting so it does the job. 4.The Freeframe mode is limited to 4:3 instead of 16:9. Something you must be aware of if upgrade. 5. The camera UI seems snappier overall. The GO3 wasn't slow by any means. 6.The sticky stand is now improved. Flexible base can adhere to curved surfaces better. Slimmed down and has a cover flap that cannot be removed so you won't lose it. I am not sure how secure it is comparing to the old one with the detachable (losable) sticker cover.

I'm in SD too, had no idea that lake was closed, lol. You would need an ocean rod for Coronado. No more InnOut for this gal, doctor's orders. You need to try Beef N Bun off Navajo/Fletcher Pkwy...yum fries and shakes...I get the grilled chicken combo with extra fries (2x/yr)-Walk-in or drive thru. Camera is crazy tiny, great job!

If you record in freeframe you're able to crop in post either verticle or horizontal footage.

Planning to head to Japan to Fly FPV primarily on the east coast (the Go3S - 4K is a big deal). I have been waiting to try the Go series. I am familiar with Insta360 action cameras. The lack of 4K has held me back until now. The closest other option is the ThumbPro but no internal battery is a hassle.

Can you still freely reframe the footages in freeframe instead of just change to different aspects ratio? It work on Go2 and Go 3(does it ?) but seems like doesn’t work in Go3S?
You're only able to change the aspect ratios. I didn't realize that until later. I hope they update the firmware to allow that reframe in the future.

13:56 I noticed how blown out the lighting is outside of your window and that was always my main concern with the original go 3, When it's sunny outside, the image often gets blown out
The image here of the widow is blown out because I have face metering on and HDR turned off (I hate how HDR looks on skin tones). But shooting in full sun with the GO3 and the GO3s hasn't given me many problems. I did pick up some ND filters recently so excited to see how that looks. I also recommend taking down the exposure if you feel the picture is coming out overexposed for your liking or grabbing some filters. I have the DJI Pocket 3 and that thing overexposes like crazy but ND filters have worked wonders.
@@MikeeRogers The picture is not overexposed but all of the bright parts and the sky is whenever I shoot with the go3 outdoors

Hey! I would say it’s worth it and very convenient and easy to use which is why I would choose it over the X4 for what you’re wanting to film. The X4 is versatile but also extra (a lot) of work to get the footage onto a computer since it’s 360 footage. You’ll have to use their studio app to convert the clips. Lots of options which is great but time consuming. That’s also why I like it for B-Roll and specialty shots where I think capturing a huge area/scene would look cool. Maybe the X4 could be something you add down the line.

😅it is so Bad, the new 3s has no freeframe mode like the Go 3. 4K is nice to have, but real freeframe is much more important for the Go Camera i think.

You said the thicker magnet in the pendant "helps with the POV of everything"... What on Earth could this possibly mean? It is thicker to make it stick better. Also, regarding the easy clip you said "the key difference with this one is that now it has magnets, so it's easier to clip on and off"... You seem to have seriously misunderstood the promotional material. Also, you owned a Go 3, so you ought to know that the easy clip was always magnetic. What's new is that they have labeled it so you know which way to stick the camera in and also they put a metal plate in the clip part so that it will be able to be mounted to the pendant and give it far more adjustability than the stupid wedges that get lost. So, yeah, you said some pretty strange stuff, and I've watch about 20 reviews of this camera so far today. That accessory is called a quick reader. They have it for some of their other cameras, which you should probably know. Super cute chihuahuas, though!
Hey there. I usually mention in all my camera videos that I'm not a tech channel and just your average vlogger who loves gear (I put it in the description and a pinned comment since I forgot this time around).
My camera videos are about how they fit into my Vlog channel. That's why this video is titled A Week in the Life... and not a review. Sorry about that!
As for the pendant, the original GO 3 had included a separate plastic magnetic piece that attaches to the pendant to angle the camera downwards for a better POV. I assumed right away that was why it was thicker. But you're right, it's just thicker (probably for stronger magnets).
I also lost my first easy clip but I thought it attached based on friction, my mistake.
With that said, of the 20 reviews you saw, how much actual footage did they share from the camera? Was it all in just good light situations? Did you get a good grasp of the audio in different scenarios? I have a solid 20+ minutes of it using it around various scenarios, locations, and lighting situations with a mukbang to boot 😂 I hope that counts for something.
And lastly... as a tech nobody in this space, they just sent me the camera because they saw an interest in it from a vlogger perspective/audience. They didn't review the video or give me a talking point list. They're probably reserving that manpower for people like Peter Mckinnon.
But thank you for the constructive criticisms... that's how I get better. And if I get another shot at this, I won't make the same mistakes!

Keep on doing your thing and i'm sure you'll be on their radar to showcase more stuff in the future. oh, and i'd rather see things a little raw than polished and i don't need everything explained precisely the way a manual sounds. It'd rather see it demo'd in the field and how it fits into a shooting workflow compared to watching a commercial.

I'm not a tech channel either, but I understand how the hat clip worked before and how it is different now since there are only two significant changes to a thing which was very uncomplicated to begin with. I'm just suggesting that maybe if you're going to attempt to try to explain how something works, maybe you should attempt to understand how it works first. You put so much effort into the video, but not as much into the information.
I know this is going to come off super critical and a lot of people are going to think I'm a jerk, but I just have a very high sense of duty when it comes to the responsibility of informing others of facts. I'd rather just say that I don't know rather than misinform...
