Any time I have onigiri I always feel like I'm instantly transported to Japan. Luckily Thailand has a large community of Japanese expats so it's quite easy to find oginiri with various fillings at supermarkets. I still miss sitting in a park or by the river in small Japanese towns just enjoying onigiri and a bottle of tea!
This was fun but makes me miss Japan even more. I loved being able to go into Lawson or Family Mart and pick up something when I didn't feel like going to a restaurant. I'm the same as Shinichi with Ume. If I don't feel well or if I have an upset stomach, ume always makes me feel better. I will even make tea with ume sometimes.
Since you talked about dates in the last bread video, I'd like to let you know that I really appreciate the little "history" behind it. If you could include more facts about dishes (year of creation, story etc) it would be wonderful for us 💖
I love ume and onigiri. The first thing what I always do when I arriwe to Japan, I looking for the closest conviniant store to the airport, buy a couple of onigiri and a sapporo beer, and I know I arriwed to the right place. O how I miss Japan, I hope at the end of this year I will be able to visit again. 2020 trip was canceled unfortuanetly.
Love your convenience store series. When in Japan we often get a light meal from the convenience store because it is such a good deal. If 7Eleven in western countries were to start setting up their food offering the way they do in Japan, it would take off big time.
First time I ever had Onigiri it was on a backpacking trip with friends of my mom and dad. We had them the first day in Yosemite starting the John Muir Trail. It was pickled plum. I was so hungry and it was so good.
I ‘m like you both Umeboshi musubi is the best,,, I Hawaii there’s a good musubi called happy rice. It’s made with nametake, shiofuki konbu and edamane.. sooo so good. It’s like mazegohan and all you need is takuwan or any tsukemono. Ask Niki if she knows about. If you need the recipe, I’m more than happy to share with you all. You made me die for a musubi. I’ll make me one right now. Yummmm
All I could say was Aaah!!! my mouth was wide open for everyone you aimed at the camera . I get excited everytime I see your food . Thanks gentlemen I enjoyed everyone I'm very satisfied. 😉 💙💙💙🍙🍙🍙Onigiri no matter what flavour. 👍👍👍
My sweet boys, I can’t tell you how JEALOUS I am from watching this video! Not only are you eating all that DELICIOUS onigiri that I can’t have right now, but you also are having thunderstorms which is one of my very favorite kinds of weather! Love and miss you both so much! 💖✨💖✨💖
Can I just tell you that it’s so nice to come home from my stressful job and see a new video from you guys... It really lifts up my mood when you upload new videos. Thank you so much! ❤️
It would be amazing if you could do some episode around a single theme of supermarket! Taking us to your favorite market and buying one type of food for each section (like one best frozen food, one bento, one snack etc) ♡
I wish there were more onigiri options where I live in the USA. There is a restaurant that just opened up recently that mostly sells onigiri that I want to try.
Hiiiii from 🇨🇦 and im sending my most sincerest thank you. My eyes are very very hungry. I loved visiting Japan about 5 years ago and my first impressions in Tokyo will forever be cherished memories, especially memories of all the convenience stores i found along the way and it was the definition of HEAVEN (omg I miss the hot food section with soooo much selection). I hope to visit again some day and find every single onigiri and get to taste the joy... btw I enjoy your descriptions.. it motivates me 😁. Stay safe stay well and stay full of good soul food 🙏
美味しそう!!!うらやましい!!🤤😋Someone asked me why we call Onigiri "Riceballs" when they are triangle and that they should be called "Rice Triangles". I tried to tell them that when you make them at home they are more round but they were not satisfied with my answer. 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Is ume similar in flavor to ling hing mui? I know ling hing is salty and sour with a hint of sweetness. Thanks for the fun video. It's always amazing to see the variety in Japanese convenience stores!
Thanks guys for another video!! The rice balls look tasty!! Believe it or not, I go to a convience store for coffee almost everyday. I have a 7-11, FamilyMart and Lawson walking distance from out house. Take care, and keep up the great work, we love your videos!
I can imagine my sad little face, that moment you say I'm so hungry and your Japanese friend winks at you and says ''leave this to me'' comes back with rice and salmon wrapped in seaweed!!! ..... He died so young!
I am the worst Onigiri maker, failed many times and then I call my japanese friend Chef ex Nobu Chef and he always sends me his homemade Onigiri because I’m begging while crying. I’m always spoilt! Everyone loves Loretta in Bali
I just went to Marukai, Mitsuwa and Nijiya here in San Diego for my monthly shopping. Japanese food is so expensive here! In addition to my normal items I bought 3 tuna onigiri ($2.80 each) and there was hardly any tuna😕 On a happier note, love you guys, keep up the great work and give Justin a big hug from me!!
This is making me miss Japan SO much! I've had a go at making my own onigiri but it's not the same. My favourite was a limited edition one from Family Mart with chilli oil (like La Yu) inside. It was my breakfast every day in Yokohama. I was devastated when they stopped selling it!
The onigiris in Japan's convenience stores have way more filling than the US ones! It's like 3-4x times more! They're also more fresh, the ones I've tried are all cold and hard rice...
Wow! They all looked so good, but I’ve always shied away from anything with umeboshi in it...guess I am always afraid it will be too sour. But, you’ve convinced me to give a try the next chance I get! Thank your for sharing! 💟
Poor Justin must've been scared silly by the thunder :(. most of the dogs I've had my entire life was scared silly by it-except the white one my thumbnail! Also, sadly, I've never had onigiri before. they all looked delicious. these convenience store vids are awesome, please keep them up!
I remember that separated nori onigiri from Family Mart was one of the first things I ate when I went to Japan. Was, and still kind of am, not a huge fan of nori, but that was awesome. There was also another one that the nori ripped away super easily. Like how cotton candy would. I don't remember what that was though, other than (I think) having salmon in it. If for whatever reason you guys haven't tried the Lawson swiss roll though, you really need to. It's the one that has says mochi as part of the name. Ugh that thing is easily one of my favorite things to eat in Japan. Must buy every single time.
Onigiri are just another example of how a simple culinary platform can host SO many good tastes. A lot of these sounded _really_ nice. Poor Justin seemed really upset by the *don don don* action going on outside. Does he dislike storms?
I loved the onigiri reviews! They're definitely something you just cannot find over here, and my attempts at making them have been few and lacking in ingredients.
I am from Oregon in the US, and it is so hard to find Onigiri. It is served at a few restaurants, but when I was young and saw them in the Pokemon tv show, I wanted to try them so badly and there was no place that served them back then. So Onigiri was one of the first homemade foods I learned to make.
They all look yummy. I want to ask if most onigiri safe for those allergic to seafood (like with shrimps, seashells)? Thank you for sharing! Stay safe & healthy
Sadly, I've never had onigiri before :(. they all looked delicious poor Justin must've been scared by the thunder! I know all the dogs I've ever had, except the white one in my thumbnail, was scared silly by them
Never been to Japan or having had these, my questions are - 1. I assume they are kept cold, so why isn't the rice hard and dry? Do you let them warm to room temp. or heat them up slightly? 2. It looks like there is way more rice than filling. Is that make it sort of bland? 3. How large exactly are these (in ounce or grams)? 4. Do you ever dip them in any soy or other sauce?
Mindy's Mom is # 1 .. I will tell you, she is one of your top moderators! Much love and respect to Schinichi and Satoshi. Keep up the wonderful work you guy's continually do, video after video.🍡
japan has the greatest rice how fun to try all these onigiri n the person who invented the onigiri nori wrapper what a great invention i like crisy nori
Whitebait is super popular here in New Zealand! I think our variety is a native one, but I'm sure Japan's whitebait is just as delicious! Over here, we tend to eat them cooked into fritters/patties made from flour and egg. They're admittedly overpriced, but damn they're good... (All of these onigiri look delicious, this one just caught my attention...)
During my trips to Japan my breakfasts on the go was always onigiri. I can’t remember which konbini it was but there was one whose onigiri did not come with pictures (I think it was 7/11)...it was thanks to choosing the wrong one that I got to try KOMBU (8:40) and that’s my #1 favourite now haha Trying mentaiko was great as well... there was also a tonkotsu ramen special onigiri back then, it had a perfectly soft egg embedded in it so delicious 🤤 I did develop a taste for ume-shu but why didn’t I try the umeboshi onigiri 🤔 I will have to try it next time for sure from your recommendation!
Recently, I had leftover refried beans and cheese and rice so I made a Mexican onigiri to take to work for lunch 🇲🇽🍙🇲🇽
Omg great idea
That sounds really tasty 💕
Love it!!!
😁👍
Try it with mole.
That first "itadakimasu" was in perfect harmony

Loved this taste test!❤️🎈❤️🎈❤️🎈❤️🎈❤️🎈❤️🎈❤️🎈❤️🎈❤️🎈❤️🎈❤️🎈❤️🎈❤️🎈❤️🎈❤️🎈❤️🎈❤️🎈❤️🎈❤️🎈❤️
When I visited Japan in 2019, I found that I liked Family Mart's onigiri and sandwiches the most.
I like the Lawson onigiri most.
I remember my momma making this with the sour plum...I love these
This was fun but makes me miss Japan even more. I loved being able to go into Lawson or Family Mart and pick up something when I didn't feel like going to a restaurant. I'm the same as Shinichi with Ume. If I don't feel well or if I have an upset stomach, ume always makes me feel better. I will even make tea with ume sometimes.
I do the same thing with ume, I learned it from my mom👍🏼
Ume, miso, and ginger are amazing when you’re sick...or hungover.
17:30 that thunder become a great sound effects for Satoshi lol
My son (a chef) has become a Mayo snob. He orders the Kewpie Mayo from Japan. He won’t eat any other now. Lol. ❤️
Have he tried making mayo? It's not very hard but you havecto stir a lot.
Ok, now Satoshi is starting to age in reverse! Spring must be good for you both!
Since you talked about dates in the last bread video, I'd like to let you know that I really appreciate the little "history" behind it. If you could include more facts about dishes (year of creation, story etc) it would be wonderful for us 💖
We need convenience store onigiri so bad in the states. Yum!
I like it when Yakiniku places serves plain onigiri with Shoyu at the side and we bbq it over the charcoal fire
Sounds incredible.
I love ume and onigiri. Im a Vegetarien and I live in Germany. We have Holidays and i want to go Tommorow in the Asia Markt and buy Onigiri. I Love the Colture of Japan.
Love the sound of thunder in the background.
The tuna onigiri was my favorite growing up in Hawaii.
Onigiri is one of my absolute favorite snacks, and I cannot get them where I now live. I'm going to have to learn how to make them, I suppose.
I ‘m like you both Umeboshi musubi is the best,,, I Hawaii there’s a good musubi called happy rice. It’s made with nametake, shiofuki konbu and edamane.. sooo so good. I love onigiri. Because japanese food is trendy you can now buy it in our country but they're expensive and have no taste
Im moving back to Tokyo in June, will be looking for Satoshi's Takoyaki Onigiri shop! (oiishi so!)
The convenient store onigiris are so underrated. I rank them just behind Toyota as Japan's Best Products. A must try when visiting Japan.
I love to watch these guys eat .. the food always looks awesome ...I’m hungry !! 🍙🍙
I had dinner before watching this video, now I'm hungry again. 🤤 Guess I need to get a midnight snack. 😂
All I could say was Aaah!!! my mouth was wide open for everyone you aimed at the camera . I get excited everytime I see your food . Thanks gentlemen I enjoyed everyone I'm very satisfied. 😉
💙💙💙🍙🍙🍙Onigiri no matter what flavour. 👍👍👍
I love your food videos.
That rumble was thunder. I thought it was someone's stomach asking for more salmon.......... >.>
They just don't have a normal stomach and a desert belly, but a salmon stomach as well?
My sweet boys, I can’t tell you how JEALOUS I am from watching this video! Not only are you eating all that DELICIOUS onigiri that I can’t have right now, but you also are having thunderstorms which is one of my very favorite kinds of weather! Love and miss you both so much! 💖✨💖✨💖

I love this series so much!
I love the casual thunder background noise. 😌
I wish there were more onigiri options where I live in the USA. There is a restaurant that just opened up recently that mostly sells onigiri that I want to try.
Have you guys tried the Spam one? As an Okinawan, I am just full of joy when those make it to Kanto once a year or so (like right now!).
Lol the way you guys enjoy food gives me so much joy.
Hiiiii from 🇨🇦 and im sending my most sincerest thank you. My eyes are very very hungry. I want to try onigiri so bad. It looks delicious! I’m going to have to try to make it.
I always like the simple traditional ones the best, konbu, yukari, okaka, umeboshi. So good!
Keep the convenience store videos coming! I’d love to see more vending machine ones as well. 😀
Huhu i miss Japan so much. I love onigiri. 💕

I think that second one or last one would’ve been my favorite cause I really really like those pickled plums
That 2nd one looked so good. I make one similar with both barley and quinoa mixed with the rice.
I loved eating onigiri when I was in Japan😭😭 I think I ate at least 2 everyday as a snack lol .. Onigiri is just not the same in Canada😢
Is ume similar in flavor to ling hing mui? I know ling hing is salty and sour with a hint of sweetness. Thanks for the fun video. It's always amazing to see the variety in Japanese convenience stores!

Justin wants! I live going to Japan and getting onigiri.
I love onigiri! I don't eat them too often (because carbs, hehehe), but the variety of flavors is just soooo irresistable! 🥰
I really hope I one day can travel to Japan... it's been such a dream to experience the country and the food

I had onigiri for breakfast lunch & dinner at times during my last visit. Compacted transportable delicious 😋
11:36 I had this one yesterday! 😬✨ Really good!
Poor Justin must've been scared silly by the thunder :(. most of the dogs I've had my entire life was scared silly by it-except the white one my thumbnail!

Oh that Tako meshi onigri looks delicious!

I just love watching the both of you. Mahalo for sharing your vlog. I’m hungry for most of them. Yummy! 🍙🍙🍘🍘 Aloha 🌺
Sea chiki? Like chicken of the sea? Love it :D My favourite is konbu in soy sauce, which seems quite rare in Canada anyway
I caught this too 😂
I Love you guys. Love japan. Hope came back one day
Kisses from Brasil 😊
Onigiri are just another example of how a simple culinary platform can host SO many good tastes. A lot of these sounded _really_ nice. Poor Justin seemed really upset by the *don don don* action going on outside. Does he dislike storms?
I’m not supposed to eat rice or noodles but 🤯🤤 this look soooo yummy! I really want to visit Japan 🤭
You two make me so jealous! Thanks for the video.
I ate so many of those kombu ones when i was in japan. I got slightly addicted. 😆
I loved the onigiri reviews! They're definitely something you just cannot find over here, and my attempts at making them have been few and lacking in ingredients.
And the best part is around 6:12, where doggo comes into the picture :)
I love onigiris!! How did the Barley and Plum Chicken and Hijiki onigiri keeps its shape?? Is it really compressed that tightly? Love this video!
Yay! Glad we get another onigiri video!
I love onigiri!
I missed the premium range so much. FM expanded a lot in Malaysia but they didn't bring in the premium range.
My fave onigiri are tuna/mayo, salmon, mentaiko mayo and konbu. They have these here in Hawaii but its not the same. They can't get the rice right.
Tuna mayo is my favorite onigiri!
Love ongiri!!!
Great sharing. Love 🌹🙏

Puppy wants onigiri!!!!
I rarely go to convenience stores in America. And yet if I go back to Japan, one of the first things I'd do is go to a conbini. And Denny's.
have you done a show where you make the grilled soy onigiri?
Hi Satoshi and Shinichi good to see you guy's WOW riceball yummie enjoy this video thanks stay safe God BLESS to all of u
